Highly recommended. Entertaining and knowledgeable guide who seems genuinely engaged and bothered about everyone enjoying the day. Arrived on time and was instantly engaging and friendly. We discovered on arrival at Etna that we couldn’t get to 3k metres by cable car and truck. Instead we got a truck to 2,500m, which was a great experience. The guide then incorporated extra tour elements to make up for this. There is always a risk of not reaching 3k metres due to the weather. Geo’s terms explain its policy clearly. If that bothers you, make sure you check them. We were fine with it and appreciated the efforts to make up for it. This is a really good way to see Etna, particularly bearing in mind the high cost of the cable car and simply getting there. It’s clear that Geo wants you to enjoy the trip and that they enjoy what they do. A really memorable highlight of our holiday. Thank you.

Set your Google Maps filter to its lowest setting, and you will get a true sense of our trip. Note: the boots and jacket rental at €10 felt like a scam. A complete waste of a day. We have an expression in Ireland for this kind of stuff: “Dirt!” 😉. I was actually praying for a massive volcanic eruption to put me out of my misery…

Wir sind durch einen Flyer im Hotel auf die Tour aufmerksam geworden, die Buchung war unkompliziert und wir wurden pünktlich von einem netten Fahrer im Hotel abgeholt. Die Aussicht war bei klarem Wetter einfach atemberaubend und die Tour war körperlich leicht zu bewältigen.

Mit Geo Etna Explorer erlebten wir einen Tag voller Eindrücke, die man so schnell nicht vergisst. Die Abholung am Hotel klappte reibungslos und schon die Fahrt hinauf war ein Erlebnis. Je höher wir kamen, desto mehr veränderte sich die Landschaft - üppige Vegetation wich kargen Lavafeldern und dampfenden Kratern. Auf rund 3.000 Metern Höhe standen wir schließlich mitten im Herz des Etna, umgeben von einer grandiosen Aussicht und dem Gefühl, auf einem anderen Planeten zu sein.😍 Perfekt erzählt - absolut organisiert, spannend empfehlenswert! Een enorme leuke ervaring! Onze hotel host raadde Geo Etna Explorer aan als èèn van de beste tours om de vulkaan te bezoeken en wij delen zeker deze mening. We werden ‘s ochtends op de een dag ervoor doorgegeven tijd precies op tijd opgehaald door een hele vriendelijke chauffeur die tevens onze gids zou zijn. De reis richting de vulkaan duurde voor ons vanaf Giardini Naxos ongeveer een uur, met twee tussenstops waarbij wij andere personen ophaalde bij hun hotels. Onderweg vertelde onze gids over de geschiedenis van het eiland en de vulkaan. Op een tussenstop verwisselde wij van schoenen, voor slechts tien euro werden er schoenen en indien gewenst een jas verstrekt. Mijn vriendin en ik boekte de 2000 meter tour, waarbij de andere 6 personen die reis verder naar boven namen, hierover kan ik dus ook niks uitlaten. Onze 2000 meter tour was enorm aangenaam, goed te doen en erg indrukwekkend. Onze gids Fabio vertelde over de geschiedenis van de vulkaan, nam ons mee naar enorm interessante bezienswaardigheden en nam alle tijd om met zijn expertise onze vragen te beantwoorden. Na ongeveer tweeëneenhalf uur kregen wij nog eens anderhalf uur vrije tijd om op eigen tempo dingen op de vulkaan te bekijken, een souveniertje te kopen of een hapje te eten. De trip stak naar onze mening op alle facetten goed in elkaar en wij raden iedereen dan ook aan om zeker de vulkaan te bezoeken met deze partij. Heel erg bedankt en misschien tot de volgende keer!
