Absolutely wonderful canoe trip for this 75 year old women who thinks she is 35. The guide (Pam) was very kind, patient, and knowledgable about the Boundry Waters. She had no end to her energy. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my planned Women in the Wilderness guided tour at the last minute due to my husband sustaining a back injury. Luckily, I had travel insurance thru my credit card and the people at Ely were so helpful to me in gathering all of the documents I needed to submit my claim. I look forward to signing up for next fall!

Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Bunk house was Bare Bones with exception of shampoo, conditioner, bodywash and a pillow. $8 showers are well worth it after you get your stank off the water.

We had an amazing experience backpacking/canoeing through the boundary waters! Ely Outfitting made sure we had everything we needed and it was easy to rent just the things we didnt already have. Mike got us set up the first day and shuttled us and our canoes (highly recommend) to our entry point. He was very knowledgeable and made sure we were prepared for fishing/weather/navigation. They were easy to communicate with as we prepared for the trip and picked us up at our exit point right on time. Great experience!

I went on the Women in the Wilderness trip. It was a totally awesome experience. I am not an experienced paddler and had a little apprehension about this adventure. Our amazing guide Pam, was so patient and explained everything so well, that I quickly dropped my fears and felt confident in my abilitiy to be a successful Woman in the Boundary Waters Wilderness. The food was plentiful and excellent. I loved that Pam gave us daily choices about what we wanted to do. I plan on coming back next year.

Not sure we could have had a better time. The folks at Ely Outfitters (shout out Greg, Asia, and the rest of the crew) made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. The outfitter grounds are nice, bunk house included, and an opportunity to shower on the way out was appreciated. Good spot in town as well, near some good eats. Gear provided was top notch and we appreciated the orientation and plenty of good information helping to ensure we knew what we were doing on our self-guided tour. I look forward to a return visit!

Absolutely amazing experience! We did the guided photography trip with Dave and Layne. The canoe and camping gear were top notch, the food delicious, and the guides were awesome, creating a multi day trip that was fun, awe-inspiring, and each day was planned perfectly, in the balance of paddling time, photography lessons, and down time. EOC runs an impressively organized operation, gear pickup and drop off were a breeze! This trip surpassed my wildest dreams, and I'll definitely be back!

What a kick ass experience. Had a wonderful time and Theo was a thoughtful, knowledgeable and highly experienced guide. We all learned so much about wilderness camping, canoeing and her reverence for the Boundary Waters was infectious. I highly recommend Ely Outfitting. Truly exceptional guide and outfitting. Dave was patient, knowledgeable, highly experienced and a true pleasure to hang out with for our photo workshop. The food was fantastic. I ate better in the wilderness than I do at home! Using their guide and outfitting service is a great value. I don’t think I’d do another BWCA in any other way.

My first experience on the bounty Waters and I hope it is not my last. Ely Outfitting was amazing. Their website has a ton of information and as well organized. All of the staff are professional, very helpful and friendly. Our guide, Ann was simply the best. Very knowledgeable of the area, friendly, helpful, and fun! We had the best equipment and the food was amazing. We went in September and the weather was perfect, no bugs, and very few people. I would definitely use Ely Outfitting In the future.
