Super Organisation vorab. Leider musste unser Trip kurzfristig abgesagt werden wegen einem Erdrutsch und starken Regenfällen in Sumatra. Wir haben die gesamten Kosten zurück erstattet bekommen, wurden rechtzeitig über die aktuelle Situation informiert (inklusive ehrliche Einschätzung).
Auch wenn ich leider noch nicht vor Ort war, kann dich die Organisation von Herzen empfehlen!
Wir haben vor knapp 2 Wochen den Dschungeltrek für 2D1N mit Discover Sumatra gemacht. Von der Buchung bis zum Trek war alles perfekt.
Der Kontakt zu Christine und unsere Guides Fabio und Nikki waren super. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt.
Wir konnten 7 Orang Utans inklusive Babys, Gibbons, Thomas-Leaf-Monkeys und einen Tukan sehen. Wir waren auch sehr erstaunt darüber wie nah die Orang Utans waren.
Das Camp war sehr einfach, aber für 1-2 Nächte total in Ordnung. Das Essen war fantastisch und man bekommt definitiv nicht zu wenig. Auch die Rückfahrt mit den Reifen macht super viel Spaß.
Wir können die Tour von Herzen weiterempfehlen!
We had a super nice experience. We did a two days trek and saw 6 Orang Utans and many other Monkeys and really enjoyed the rafting and tubing in the river on the Second day. The Guides were really nice and funny.

Ich habe einen 2 Tages Trek gebucht. Es war einfach nur schön. Von Beginn an war alles bis zum Schluss top organisiert. Es war eine tolle Erfahrung bei unberührter Natur den Affen so nah kommen zu können. Es wird auf Ökologie und Tierschutz großen Wert gelegt. Die beiden Guides Imbon und Pele in unseren kleinen (3 Touristen) Gruppe sind absolut zu empfehlen. Sie waren stets auf alle Teilnehmer bedacht und haben viele Informationen über ihre Kultur und das Leben der Tiere im Dschungel gegeben. Das traditionelle Abendessen war ein weiteres Highlight bei diesem Trek. ❤️Empfehlungen

Unique experience with great wildlife observations
We booked the 3 day jungle trekking tour. Everything was booked online in advance from home and all our outstanding questions were clarified. We arrived one day before the trekking to Bukit Lawang, where we were received directly by our guide, who provided us with additional information. The next day we were picked up at our accommodation at 9am and we started on foot into the jungle - the groups consisted only of my daughter and me and our two guides Imbon and Justin. Shortly after the entrance to Gunung Leuser National Park, we met various other groups and held the information that the 1st National Park was located there. Orangutan female can be seen. The path down to the orangutans was very steep and slippery, but it was worth it - the animals are really incredibly impressive! We saw several orangutans in our 3 days in the jungle - 2 mothers with children, single females and even an alpha male. Besides the orangutans, we have seen many smaller monkeys: Longtail macaques, pigtail macaques, Thomas Leaf monkeys, Siamangs (black gibbon). In addition, many other unknown animals such as a wild pafu, a hormbird, various colorful butterfly species, geckos, giant ants and on the last day we saw a dragon disappear in the bushes. The tour was more strenuous than expected, it is already partly very steep up and downhill and is partly very slippery. And in the unfamiliar climate for us, the sweat was on our foreheads after his first ascent. But our two guides were very helpful and helped us in the difficult places and the pace and number of breaks is adjusted to the group. Once at the camp, it was very pleasant to get rid of the sweat while swimming in the river. Sleeping in the camp was also an exciting experience - the sounds at night in the jungle are unlike anything you have experienced so far. We were also provided with food - incredible what rich meals our great chef conjured up in the yet very simple jungle kitchen! And during the day there were also regular really delicious picnics in the jungle. In the evening we sat with our cook and the guides for a long time and talked and learned card tricks - one evening outside, the next because of rain in the tent. In our 2. Night in the jungle we were lucky that an orangutan mother set up her nest for the night on a tree almost directly above our tent - so we had another very intense orangutan experience, because the two were out in our camp both evening and the next morning. Fas Radring at the end was also incredibly funny - we were pitch wet, but it was totally fun! All in all, it was 3 indescribable days, completely different than anything experienced so far! Many thanks to Christine for the good care and organization in advance, our really dear chef for the delicious food and especially our two guides Imbon and Justin for the great care, the nice conversations and the lot of information about the jungle, the animals and plants on site!

Friendly guides, plenty of food and an unforgettable experience seeing Orangutans (and much more) in the wild. It is a long drive from Medan to Bukit Lawang, but worth it.

Incredible tour! We saw many monkeys and Orang Utans, including the alpha male. Our guide was also really good! He had a lot of knowledge about both the animals, and the jungle. His English was really good.
A unique experience in beautiful nature.
We did the 3 day jungle trekking tour in Bukit Lawang and very much enjoyed it. Right in the first hours of the tour we saw orangutans, as well as gibbons and macaques. Our two guides were really great! Very accommodating, funny and warm. In general, everyone was very open-minded and hospitable and we felt very comfortable. Delicious food was plentiful. Overall, a unique experience that was perfectly completed by a visit to a waterfall and rafting.

Wir haben die 2 Tagestour gemacht mit einer Übernachtung im Dschungel. Wir hatten eine mega schöne Zeit, unser Guide Imran war unglaublich lieb und konnte und so viele Infos zum Dschungel, zu den Tieren und allgemein Indonesien geben. Das Essen war auch super lecker. Wir konnten einige Orang Utans sehen, auch Schwarze Gibbons und andere Affenarten. Kann es nur empfehlen, war sehr toll!!!😊🦧
2 day trek in the jungle highly recommended, very sympathetic guide!
We did the 2 day tour with an overnight stay in the jungle. We had a mega nice time, our guide Imran was incredibly kind and could and so much information about the jungle, the animals and generally Indonesia. The food was also super delicious. We could see some orangutans, including black gibbons and other monkey species. Can only recommend it was very great!!!😊🦟
A unique experience
Our trip was put together individually for us by Discover Sumatra. We were very well advised during the planning and all our wishes were implemented. The trip was excellently organized. Everything went smoothly and reliably. The guides were competent, cordial and very concerned for our well-being. The communication also worked excellently – they spoke very good English. We were particularly excited about the jungle trekking with our great guides Iman and Imran, the cooking class with Erna, the village tour in Bukit Lawang and the ascent to Sibayak volcano. We can fully recommend Discover Sumatra and would book again at any time.
Der zwei-tägige Jungle-Trek mit Discover Sumatra war unglaublich! Wir haben super viele Orang-Utans und auch viele andere Affen (Thomas Leaf Monkeys, Gibbons und Co) aus nächster Nähe gesehen. Unsere beiden Guides haben sich super um uns gekümmert und immer wieder ihr bestes gegeben, damit wir möglichst viele und auch selten zu begegnende Tiere sehen konnten. Danke an unsere super lustigen und netten Guides Pele und Justin - ihr wart einfach nur toll! Besonders schön war am Abend das gemeinsame Zusammensitzen im Camp mit Kartenspielen und spannenden Geschichten aus dem Dschungel :) Und natürlich am zweiten Tag das Rafting über den Fluss zurück zu unserer Unterkunft! Indonesia highlight: Super exciting and fun jungle trek in Sumatra
The two-day Jungle Trek with Discover Sumatra was incredible! We saw a super lot of orangutans and also many other monkeys (Thomas Leaf Monkeys, Gibbons and Co) up close. Our two guides took great care of us and gave their best time and again so that we could see as many and rarely encountered animals as possible. Thanks to our super funny and nice guides Pele and Justin - you were just great! Especially nice in the evening was sitting together in the camp with card games and exciting stories from the jungle :) And of course on the second day the rafting across the river back to our accommodation! Auf Empfehlung gebucht normalerweise bin ich kein Fan von klassischen Touristen-Aktivitäten, aber diese Jungle-Trek-Tour hat mich absolut überzeugt. Die Guides waren außergewöhnlich kompetent, humorvoll und gleichzeitig sehr aufmerksam. Sie haben die Tour nicht nur informativ, sondern auch unterhaltsam gestaltet. Eine klare Empfehlung für alle, die ein authentisches und gut geführtes Erlebnis suchen.

(Die Matratzen im Jungle dürften ein kleines bisschen dicker sein, wir sind echt nicht pingelig aber es hat sich wirklich angefühlt als würde man auf Stein liegen und das haben alle reisenden gesagt die wir kennengelernt haben, dann ist dieses Erlebnis eine 10/10🤍)
