Very rude on the phone, don't know if they having a bad day, but treating someone like an idiot for asking if do a type of service is just unacceptable, also note that his response to this review is for a completely different person, I don't have a truck nor was my call about fluid levels, it was about transmission replacement, so he was rude to multiple people so that's something

Josh, I apologize that my response came across as rude to you, it was not my intention. I know you did not like the response I gave you regarding the amount of work that is involved in properly checking the fluid level for your specific truck. People get mad when I give them bad news about their vehicle or the repairs of it all the time, I know it's not me, it's just the news that people are upset about. I know that you thought 3 - 4 hours to properly check your fluid levels at temperature was "ridiculous" but this is the process we have to provide to protect our customers and our business.

Had issues with my vehicle and someone recommended budget transmission to me. I called them to schedule an appointment and Garrett was very professional and friendly over the phone. Gary is a true professional. He explained everything regarding the transmission rebuild. He was patient and clear on every possibility of what the repair would entail. I was fortunate to have had him referred to me by Plummers Auto Repair. Budget Transmission price was competitive and reasonable and the repair was performed in a timely manner. Communication with Gary was excellent. I would highly recommend Budget Transmission for all your transmission needs.

On 9/9/25 I sought a diagnosis of my vehicle's transmission with Gary (Budget Transmission manager, on Gibraltar Way, Centennial, CO). Set it up, waited in my vehicle patiently, and when technician came over 1. he wouldn't get closer than 20 feet to talk with me after politely, repeatedly asking him to so do (could not hear him clearly enough), 2. I asked him If I could ride along with him for his test drive, said no, stated, "Would you allow any body to watch you work?," and then before I could get a syllable out says, "You can take it somewhere else," and walks off. I'm dumbfounded. I go to the office to straighten it out and the moment I get in Gary says, "Get out." and it only physically escalates from there via Gary's utter refusal to hear a word I have to say. (Was happy for the technician to take it solo. but could never get that out to either of them visa vis their outrageous way they treated me before I could say a thing. (Just for context: No other shop in my 70 years has ever said I couldn't ride along.)) Good chances Gary is going to bald-facedly lie through his teeth defending his indefensible actions here, but I have no reason to make this up. In fact I only went to this shop because a couple years prior I had talked to Gary on the phone and he seemed like a decent, knowledgeable fella so I had nothing but good will and trust with him until this happened. They might be excellent at what they do, I have no idea, but psychologically they are unhinged, to put it mildly, and if anything goes wrong with their work on your vehicle, etc., I wish to save everyone before-hand the nightmare of having to deal with these two in the first place. Thus, avoid this particular shop like the plague. Sincerely, a previously otherwise “potential life long customer' of this facility. P.S., GARY GIVES EVERYONE A BUSINESS CARD WITH WRITINGS ON IT BRIBING ($50) THEM "IF" THEY POST A "FIVE STAR" REVIEW ON GOOGLE, YELP AND BBB, OBVIOUSLY TO INFLATE HIS RATINGS ONLINE. THIS MAY BE THE REASON WHY HE RECEIVES THE AMOUNT OF FIVE STAR REVIEWS HE DOES. JUST A POINT OF FAIRNESS TO BE MENTIONED.

Took my recently purchased vehicle there, advised I have a warranty and not to do any work without confirming. They do a check up and come back to tell me my transmission is shot, needs to be rebuilt. The owner stated it’s a common GMC problem. GREAT! He starts mentioning how the government is making it rough to run the business with all the increase costs. I said I understand but need time to get my finances in order. I drove it home, parked it, took it to get a second opinion 2 days later. The second opinion shop calls and asks if I had my car recently serviced. I explained how Budget Transmission told me IN DETAIL that my car needed the transmission rebuilt and was a common problem with GMC. The second shop proceeds to tell me that either Budget Transmission lied about checking my transmission or they drained my transmission fluid by leaving it unplugged. The second shop stated there is absolutely no way that a transmission shop can check a transmission and NOT notice completely empty transmission fluid…so they were pretty confident my transmission was sabotaged. Called back to discuss their assessment and they refused to give any details on what they found. Asked for the assessment in writing and they stated they don’t give them out. I had to file a claim under my warranty and luckily got a brand new transmission with the help of the second shop. Do not do business here. This all took place in October, I’m also reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

This review is so against everything our shop stands for and frankly makes no sense. First and foremost, if the transmission had no fluid it would not be drivable, yet you drove it here, drove it home and drove it to a new shop. If your transmission is under warranty why did you have to get your finances in order? One of the first things a warranty company asks about is the fluid level and condition. They also come on site and inspect the vehicle. Why would we sabotage a vehicle when the inspector is coming out to look at the car? If he saw it had no fluid he would likely say the transmission failed due to abuse and deny the claim. That would cost me time and money. We always give details about what we find. We just do not give you a copy of the diagnosis as it is free. Most shops charge $200+ for a diagnosis. We do not want to do the diagnosis for some other business or do-it-yourselfer so you can take our findings for free. We certainly discuss what is wrong with your vehicle. In fact, our diagnosis sheet shows the fluid levels were ok. It had a burnt odor, a varnished condition and signs of clutch material. I stand my nearly 30 years in the industry and the reputation I have for the work we do and even offer an extended warranty. You are so quick to call us liars, but you took your car to a competitor. How do you know they aren't desperate for business and lying about their findings? This would make more sense since you drove the car there and as I said, an automatic transmission will not function without fluid. It would be nice before you try to ruin a businesses reputation you check your facts.

I had a great experience working with Gary and Budget Transmission. He was upfront and honest about everything going on with my vehicle. He ran into some unexpected challenges, but took care of them without passing the charges onto me. I will be back anytime I need transmission work done!

Gary has looked at my 2012 Altima twice now and hasn't charged me a cent, so the least I can do is leave five stars and a great review. As a single woman who is NOT car-savvy, I am always intimidated by car repairs and terrified of being duped, but I have not once felt that way with Budget Transmission. Gary is honest, knowledgeable, and will give you an easy-to-understand diagnosis before starting on and charging for repairs, which I immensely appreciate.
