My uncle’s home health was Chelsea Bapp RN, she never showed up when she was supposed to just to start. My uncle had major organ failures for years and then got MRSA and sepsis a week ago, his sister had been taking care of him from diaper changes, feeding, etc., and I had been doing his IV antibiotics, wound care, etc.. This home health provider called the ambulance Tuesday when she finally showed up mind you she was supposed to show up Thursday then Friday then Monday and finally decided to show Tuesday, she called the ambulance and that’s fine however what is not fine was her telling them she didn’t feel that my uncle was safe with his sister and I as if we had been abusing him or something. When a person has major organ damage and they get something like sepsis and MRSA the chances of survival drop significantly regardless of treatment any healthcare provider will know this but she obviously didn’t and passed along the blame to his caregiver. On his death bed she was crying saying mija I could have done more, the home health told me I didn’t care for him but I tried i really did. That was highly unprofessional on her behalf, she also wouldn’t bring her own gloves or wound care products and would use what had been purchased by us to care for his wounds because it was always a hit or miss if she would show up or not and they needed to be changed and cleaned regularly. I can’t speak on the behalf of other providers in the same agency but I can speak on my uncles provider. Highly unprofessional, acting like we mistreated a man we loved so deeply, utilizing our supplies despite her saying she would order some for us that never made it to us. I’m not happy at all, even the doctor at the hospital said that with everything my uncle had and as many times as he was admitted just this year alone there wasn’t much anyone could of done, we got reassurance from the hospital because that was brought up to them as well as we felt we failed him.
