Going on safari with Meru Slopes felt less like booking a tour and more like joining a top-tier wildlife dream team.Nuru, our guide, has an eyesight that defies biology. While other jeeps drove past bushes thinking they were… well, bushes, Nuru casually pointed out animals that apparently lived in another dimension. Leopards? Lions? Rare birds? He spotted everything — and always positioned the vehicle perfectly so we had the kind of views people usually only get from documentaries. In the evenings he turned into a philosopher-storyteller hybrid, sharing wisdom and tales that made dinner feel like a campfire with an old friend.Gideon, our chef, is a magician disguised as a cook. The man produced feasts — plural! — in the middle of the wilderness, under conditions that would make most kitchens cry. Every meal was generous, delicious, and different from the one before. And he served everything with a smile big enough to light up the savannah.And then there was Herman, second guide, driver, and quite possibly the kindest person on Earth. He was endlessly polite, endlessly helpful, and genuinely caring. He gave us an unforgettable tour through Arusha, and when our flight suddenly got rescheduled, he didn’t hesitate for a second — he offered, on his own, to drive us to the airport in the middle of the night. Who does that? Legends do.Meru Slopes was an experience shaped by people who love what they do — and it shows. If you want wildlife, wonder and the warmest company imaginable, go with them.

He somehow always knew exactly where to go, like he had a secret map to every animal in the park! Thanks to him, we were always in the perfect place at the perfect moment. His driving skills are incredible, and we trusted him completely.Some of our favourite memories were actually the moments in between the game drives, dinners together, chatting about life in Tanzania, learning about the culture, wildlife, and having so many laughs. Max is caring, patient, knowledgeable and genuinely hilarious. Traveling with him felt like exploring with a great friend rather than just a guide. 💛Before the trip, our friends and family were surprised that we’d chosen a local operator and were travelling to Tanzania on our own. We weren’t sure what to expect either. But Meru Slopes was professional, reliable, and communicative from the very beginning. Everything was perfectly organised, we always felt in good hands.We can’t recommend Meru Slopes enough and if you can, make sure you ask for Max. He is truly the best and made our safari completely unforgettable!

It was an exhilirating experience, my first time to come to Africa and first time to see up close a lot of wild animals and the migration of wildebeest! I had my mother and her batchmates from the Philippines and all over the world, it was a very big group and I had a lot of fun the entire 7 days (plus 1 night my mother and I came early). We had a few safari cars in convoy, admission was care of Meru Slopes, all their guides were very accommodating and made sure we had the best views whenever there is an interesting animal that is sighted. I would highly recommend visiting the safari with Kelvin Bonith and company.

Great Camping Safari with excellent guide
We had an amazing time at our 6 days (4 days driving) safari with meru slopes.From the transfer from JRO at night (3 a.m.) until our transfer to Nairobi 6 days later, everything was perfectly organized and we did not have to worry about anything.Our tour guide/ driver Jacob was really exceptional. He knows the best spots to see interesting animals (we saw all big 5, ugly 5 and quite some action), provides a lot of information, drives safe and still has a smile on his face after 12 hours of driving. In addition, our cook Dula provided us with tasty meals 3 times a day, that left nothing to be desired.They really provide great value for money and an exceptional experience. Huge recommendation!

Amazing Safari Experience with Meru Slopes
We recently did a 6 day/ 5 night safari vacation in Tanzania with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris. Our tour took us through the Serengeti, Lake Natron, Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. The experience was superb! Along the way we stayed at multiple locations including hotels and tented lodges and enjoyed a hot air balloon ride. We hung out with the Maasai, experienced days and nights in the park nights of course saw the animals in the wild. We saw the big 5, ugly 5 and a multitude of other animals... It was INCREDIBLE. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.From the pick up at the airport, to the initial meeting on the first morning with Almachius providing us that briefing of what to expect and general safety tips to the final day when they took us back to the airport it was a success. Our guide and driver Douglas ensured that we had a safe and enjoyable experience, sharing information about Tanzanian history, culture and the animals along the way. Review: Incredible 4-Day Camping Safari with Mohammed and Bonge
Our 4-day camping safari was truly one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. From the moment we started, everything felt like a real adventure. Guide Mohammed was absolutely fantastic: incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and always making sure we were in the perfect spot to see wildlife. Thanks to him, we got close-up views of so many animals, and he made every moment feel safe, exciting, and genuinely special. I took this safari solo, so Mohammed always made sure to include me in literally everything which was very nice of him. Chef Bonge was just as amazing. I still can’t believe he managed to prepare such delicious meals out in the middle of the bush. Every breakfast, lunch, and dinner was fresh, tasty, and made with so much care. It added so much comfort and joy to the whole trip!! Camping in the wild made the experience even more magical. Falling asleep to the sounds of nature, waking up to the sunrise over the savanna, and seeing these stars at night created memories I’ll never forget. Every day brought new surprises, new landscapes, and moments that felt straight out of a dream.This safari was honestly unbelievable in the best possible way. If you are thinking about doing a camping safari, stop thinking and just go: you will not regret it for one second. Everyone should experience something this incredible at least once in their life.

Serengeti and Ngorogoro Safari
We had a wonderful safari with Meru slopes- we had a 9 day safari of Tanzania and Kenya and the Tanzanian part with Meru was excellent. Our guide Mohammed and our chef Bonge were absolutely fantastic and looked after us very well. We saw many animals and Mohammed was very knowledgeable and generous with his time to explain about them. The food was delicious and while the campsites were very basic this was expected for a budget safari. You sleep in a public campsite in the middle of Serengeti with animals free to roam & we could hear lions and elephants nearby which was certainly a once in a lifetime experience that we enjoyed but if you are a nervous sleeper perhaps a mid range option would be worthwhile. All in all I would definitely recommend Meru and Mohammed and Bonge in particular as guides for an excellent budget safari experience.

Amazing safari!
We returned from 3 days of safari and it was amazing. Thanks to Shadrack who organized everything for us and made sure everything went smoothly. Because of the elections many tourists cancelled their visits but even so we were able to do the safari together when we had paid a group safari a big thank you! Shadrack did his best to get us a French guide and it makes all the difference. Thanks to our guide Samueli who was always on time and who gave us lots of information about animals and life in Tanzania it was the best guide!!! Thanks to the cook too because we had delicious meals and always in large quantities we were never hungry or thirsty there is a lot of water in the car. Driving and car are safe no worries during these 3days. There is enough water from the outlets to charge the phones and even the wifi. Thank you!!!!

Amazing Private Safari Tour!
Our private safari with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris was incredible. Everything ran smoothly and we saw all the Big 5 plus a ton of other animals. We even watched lions eating a fresh catch right in front of us, which was absolutely wild.Our guide Jacob was the star of the trip. He is super experienced, calm and fun, and always knew where to go for the best sightings. Jerome, our tour manager, set everything up really well and was always quick to reply, so we felt taken care of from the start.One extra tip. Definitely stay at least two nights in the Serengeti Bush Camp. Waking up and falling asleep in the middle of the Serengeti was a truly amazing experience. If you are booking a safari, go with Meru Slopes and ask for Jacob.

An outstanding safari with a continuous “WOW” factor
Meru Slopes Tours and Safaris arranged a private, 10-day safari for us to visit several of the national parks in Tanzania. Our guide, Nuru, was very professional and highly experienced. Nuru’s ability to locate animals in any of the many varied environments was uncanny. He was very knowledgeable about all of the animals that we came across, including the birdlife. We encountered more animals in a short period of time than we ever could have imagined. Nuru made sure that we felt safe at all times. Our daily game drives remained very flexible throughout our safari, even allowing for an unexpected trip to the west end of the Serengeti to see the Great Migration. As others had told us it was not the right timing for the Migration, we were delighted to encounter thousands of wildebeest crossing the grassy plains. It was a real highlight of our trip.Our mid-range tour involved stays in lodges and tented camps. All of the lodgings were comfortable, included private bathrooms, and provided excellent meals. Many lodges had evening entertainment as well. We were very happy with our decision to hire Meru Slopes Tours and Safaris to organize and execute our trip. We highly recommend them.

A Once in a Lifetime Experience
I cannot recommend Meru Slopes highly enough. Our consultant, Almachius, was amazing. He tailored the trip to our needs and when we had a travel issue, adjusted things seamlessly. Our guide/driver Douglas was wonderful - very friendly, extremely knowledgeable about animal behaviour and an expert driver on those bumpy roads. We saw lots of incredible wildlife and the landscapes were magnificent. Accommodations and food were fantastic. It was an incredible experience and we highly recommend this company if you are planning a safari in Tanzania.

We did a 6 day safari tour in Oct. From the day we (4) landed, we were picked up from the airport and brought to our hotel. All meals and lodgings were included on our safari. Our wonderful guide Douglas was great, funny and spots the animals that we miss. We all saw the Big 5 and part of the Great Migration. Water, juices and wine was always available in our cruiser. Life's best experience, safari tour with Meru slopes
Together with the Meru slopes and safari tours was the best choice. Almachius of the Meru slopes was very helpful in planning our safari trip and quickly caught the part we wanted and took care of it. We went on a safari tour with Hanniman and I am very grateful to Almachius for preparing a really cute surprise Hanniman festival! He also took good care of us in the hostel. I liked every accommodation.And I really had the best experience with the guide Bariki of Meru slopes. Through a four-day safari tour, you will experience the breathtaking beauty of Seychelles and Yogyakarta. Thanks to Bariki who came with us, only 4 days felt short. Bariki is a really great guide! It was an honor to meet him at the Meru slopes. Through him I could learn, feel and explore the living breathing wildlife. He was able to learn and feel a lot about the movements of animals and their characteristics, the movements within the Seychelles. He was a really warm and wonderful person who made me feel a lot humanly.The safari tour was truly an unforgettable memory. I realize that great experiences in life are made bigger by good people.
