Eva Nyman was fantastic, compassionate, Knowledgeable and very Helpful 5 plus Stars for Eva Nyman: We were referred to Visavie during a very challenging time for our family, and we were incredibly fortunate to be matched with Eva Nyman. Eva was exceptional from start to finish — knowledgeable, compassionate, and completely dedicated to helping us find the right long‑term residence for my father, who is living with advanced Alzheimer’s. Her understanding of the Ottawa senior‑living options is outstanding, and she guided us with clarity, patience, and genuine care. Thanks to her expertise, we found the perfect home for my father, and the entire process felt manageable during a moment when we truly needed support. If I could give Eva more than five stars, I would. We are deeply grateful for her professionalism and kindness.

Sherri was an amazing support and guide for our family. We threw everything at her - an almost immediate move in date, no one in the city to easily tour residences, strict dietary restrictions, and a grumpy parent who was in denial about the need for care. She navigated all of this knowledgeably and compassionately, presented us with several great options, and helped us weigh pros and cons of each. She made a very stressful time so much easier.

The best recommendation I had while I was looking for a senior residence for my mother was to contact Sherri. She got back to me immediately. We had a long conversation about my Mom, her situation, her needs and also about what she is still able to do. In less time than I could imagine, my mother moved in from Quebec City, her hometown since her childhood, with mixed feelings but still, with some enthusiasm. Sherri seeks to have a good feel of her clients, according to their needs, immediate and mid/long term. More so, she knows where not to take you, for reasons you may not see if you were visiting a place. All the work of visiting and narrowing down places is already done when you consult with Sherri. And if she doesn’t know about a place you ask, she will find out about it for you. During visits, she will note details that you won’t necessarily notice but that will strike to you if it lacks at the next place you visit. She also follows-up after the person moves in to verify our satisfaction towards the chosen residence. This gathering of information helps her being constantly up-to-date with her knowledge about the quality of senior residences in the Ottawa area. I strongly recommend her. She will guide you well through this world unfamiliar to many people. Sherri is also very pleasant and easy to work with.

We were referred to vis-a-vis through a friend, but to be honest, I did not know what I didn’t know. After I reached out to a few retirement homes in my area, I quickly realized that I had no means to compare and was way over my head. Enter Eva Nyman. The compassion, understanding and empathy this lady demonstrated was second to none. She quickly gained the trust of my mother, and selected a few places to visits. She approached this from a needs perspective and after a few visits was able to bring my mother to choose where she was most comfortable to settle in. We know that this location is safe and secure because of Eve’s experience and knowledge and expertise. Once in a while one gets to work with people who are truly experts in their field…Eva is this person. Thank you. My mother has moved and is happy with her decision. It helps that Eva is a shrewd negotiator as well. We have nothing but great things to say about the services we have received.

J étais à la recherche d une RPA pour ma mère. Je ne savais pas trop par où commencer. J ai débuté mes recherches sur internet et entre deux visites de site de résidence, j ai rempli un formulaire sur le site de visavie. Le lendemain j ai reçu un appel pour me poser les questions de base, je me suis fait attitrer une conseillère qui m a appeler la même journée. Isabelle Mercier, une femme généreuse, douce, à l écoute et surtout qui a la passion de son métier, c est à dire aider les familles dans une étape importante de la vie de nos ainés, choisir le bon milieu de vie en prenant soins d être à l écoute des besoins autant , physiques, financiers et aussi psycologique. Ce fût un privilège d être accompagné par cette femme au grand coeur. Si vous êtes à la recherche d une résidence pour un proche, demandez d être jumelé avec Isabelle!! Je vous assure que vous ne le regrèterez pas. Merci encore, ta présence rassurante a été pour nous un beau cadeau.

Nous avons eu la chance de pouvoir compter sur l’aide de Sylvie Desormeaux, conseillère chez Visavie pour permettre à notre famille d’envisager sereinement le prochain chapitre pour notre père une fois qu’il devait quitter la maison familiale. Une perle!!!! Madame Desormeaux est non seulement extrêmement professionnelle et connait tous les établissements pour pouvoir naviguer à travers le système pour prendre en considération nos besoins particuliers pour trouver le milieu de vie le plus adéquats, elle va bien au delà: elle a fait preuve d’une générosité et empathie sans bornes. Elle a pris contact directement avec les travailleurs sociaux et le personnel de l’hôpital pour pouvoir mieux comprendre et nous orienter, elle nous a donné des conseils précieux sur le système hospitalier et le réseau de la santé pour savoir comment optimiser les services afin de pouvoir venir en aide aux notre père le plus adéquatement possible. Une perle! Ne vous en passez pas!

Nous avons eu la chance d’être accompagnés par Julie Lauzon dans une période charnière pour notre famille. Mon père, en perte d’autonomie, devait quitter rapidement l’hôpital, et Julie a su nous guider avec calme, humanité et une grande écoute. Elle a pris le temps de bien comprendre nos besoins, de nous rassurer et de nous proposer des options adaptées — jusqu’à trouver la perle rare : une résidence privée en milieu familial, un concept que je ne connaissais pas du tout, mais qui s’est avéré parfaitement aligné avec ce que nous cherchions. Grâce à sa disponibilité, son professionnalisme et sa bienveillance, nous avons pu faire cette transition en toute confiance. Eva was really helpful in identifying suitable homes for us, taking into consideration our budget and other important factors like assistance for personal care, medication management, dietary restrictions, mobility, and timing. She was especially supportive about our concerns around longer-term transitions, and helped us understand typical processes in a variety of potential situations. It was really great to have someone to talk to openly and honestly about this, and it helped us make a good decision. Eva was an advocate for us when we needed it, and that was especially helpful. She also managed logistical aspects like scheduling visits with homes so we could focus on care. She followed up with us regularly, even after the move. 10/10 would recommend to anyone needing help finding a supportive residence for their loved one.

Eva has been an absolute pleasure to work with in helping me navigate a complicated family support situation on several occasions. She is a strong advocate when you need one, yet approaches everything with grace and professionalism to ensure her clients find the right home. Some cases can be complex and require someone with both nursing experience and an understanding of the emotional challenges families face. In our situation, we were supporting a much younger family member with memory loss, which made finding the right fit especially difficult.
