We had an incredible afternoon at Mainova enjoying the sunshine and surroundings of the property. The wine tasting was so much fun and we got to try so many of their unique and delicious wines. David was so knowledgeable about the estate and the wines especially impressive given he has only worked there for a few months. His passion for the wine and the project really came through.

Absolutely an amazing time. David was faultless in his knowledge and attentive attitude. Made our day, myself, wife, daughter and our dog a most unforgettable experience. A must for anybody visiting the area. The wine and olive all experience something I shall remember for a life time. Thank you 🙏
We were a tour group of 25 and had an excellent lunch with unlimited wine. Pedro took us through the winery explaining how the different wines were made. He was funny and knowledgeable. We loved him! Would highly recommend visiting this winery!

Mainova felt welcoming from the time we pulled thru the entry gates. It’s beautiful and the carbon dated olive tree of 3000+ yrs is a treat. Our wine and olive oil tasting was top notch! Such a fantastic wine tasting experience 🍷
A special mention to Gabriela, who guided us through everything—her knowledge of local history & the winemaking process really made the dégustation come alive. She explained each wine with passion and clarity, making it both fun and insightful.
Beautiful setting, excellent wines, and an unforgettable moment. I highly recommend booking!
This was a wonderful experience that should not be missed. Our great guide, Pedro, took us driving through the vineyards and olive oil groves explaining everything to us. We even saw a Grove of very old Olive trees, one of them about 2500 years old established through carbon dating. Then at the tasting the wine and olive oil was wonderful. The Estate is in the rolling Hills about half an hour outside Evora, and it’s a beautiful setting that one could sit and drink in forever. The tasting afterwards was in a beautiful building with wide windows overlooking a vineyards and growth. Could sit here forever.

I had only been to one other vineyard tour (in Tuscany) and MAINOVA blew it out of the water. We found out that the name/word MAINOVA is defined as “youngest daughter” but we thought it should really have the definition “of the highest kind, quality, and order; supreme”. Not only was the wine fantastic, (alongside sound branding and graphic design) but our guide Pedro was a perfect example of whatd we want in someone teaching us about olive oil and natural wines. He was Incredibly knowledgeable and hilarious. We were actually bummed we couldn’t hang out longer. I will suggest this as a stop to anyone making their way through Portugal.

We had such a fun time at Mainova! Pedro gave us an adventurous tour of the vineyards and olive tree groves. He had a sense of humor that matched ours — we shared a lot of laughs and felt right at home throughout the entire experience. It was unpretentious and hip. The wine and snacks were delicious. I could have drunk the entire bottle of olive oil; it was amazing. We shipped home a few bottles of wine and olive oil and are really looking forward to enjoying them again and being reminded of our great time there.

Mainova was an absolute highlight of our time in the Alentejo and one of those experiences that stays with you. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was far more than a winery — it's a place where deep care for the land, conservation, and craft all come together in a really meaningful way.
The grounds themselves are beautiful — a stunning vineyard and olive grove that feel genuinely cared for, not just as a business but as an ecosystem. The tour gave us real insight into how Mainova approaches both winemaking and olive oil production with sustainability and conservation at the heart of it all. Pedro, who led us around was exceptional — knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely fun to spend time with. His passion for the estate and what they're doing here is infectious, and he made the whole experience feel personal and engaging rather than like a standard tourist visit.
The tasting was the perfect finale — wines and olive oils that more than lived up to everything we'd just learned about on the tour. The tasting venue itself was gorgeous: light, airy, with beautiful views over the grounds. Relaxed and unhurried, exactly the atmosphere you want for taking your time and actually appreciating what's in your glass. The fact that we left with bottles and oils in tow should say everything about how good it was.
If you're in the Alentejo and have any interest in wine, olive oil, or simply spending a few hours somewhere beautiful with people who genuinely love what they do — don't skip Mainova. Highly recommend.
