If you are looking for the best diving in all over Indonesia I would highly recommend this boat the friendly staff beautiful boat nice rooms and everything was just excellent.
The crew are the most kind caring people and make you really feel like your at home not a second on this trip did I feel not comfortable with the seven seas and the crew always looking out for you and when you need someone they are right there would highly recommend coming on the seven seas live aboard!!!! Will definitely be back for another trip !
I just returned from a 12-day trip on the Alor-Komodo route and I have to say that the Seven Seas exceeded my expectations.
It is a ship with a great history, very comfortable and with spaces to relax after the dives. The food is varied and excellent, the crew has been very attentive to us so that we enjoy the most of the stay on the ship and the dives. I liked that they take special care with the underwater cameras on the trips. The rooms are clean and really cozy. They have SUP paddle boards and kayaks on deck to take a ride and explore the beautiful beaches and areas during the trip.
Without hesitation I will repeat the trip with the Seven Seas.
Just back from the Forgotten Islands itinerary.
Superb vessel for this area. Nice rooms and common area.
Dive skiffs perfect.
Both the whips for filling tanks blew during the first few days...so equipment was constantly schelpped up out of the skiffs. I had a dump valve on a bc damaged and a reg holder, but oh well.
Food was great and meh at the same time. Have the mi goreng for breakfast everyday ! It was incredible....but the jumbo prawns we had were overcooked every time we had them, which was often. The vegetarians ate best I think.
Our dive guides were awesome.
We had a magnificent time with the Seven Seas. Everything was superbly organized: the rooms, the beautifull hikes, the guided dives and the excellent service of the crew. This was our second time on this wonderfull boat and we really recommend everyone to go and experience this fantastic liveaboard journey.

Traveling with the Seven Seas liveaboard is an absolutely unforgettable experience, to be repeated as many times as one possibly can!! The diving all over Indonesia, to remote and less remote destinations, offered by the Seven Seas, is the best the world has to offer. There are many other liveaboards in Indonesia, so why the Seven Seas? From the moment you board this magnificent and comfortable ship, you feel at home and cared for in the most genuine way, you are a part of a family. The Crew and Karl and Linda, the Cruise Directors, are also highly professional, and most have been on board for many years (both Captains, and Karl and Linda have been on Seven Seas since its beginnings), making you feel extremely safe above and underwater. You just want to keep coming back for more over and over again!! Most of us leave the Seven Seas knowing when our next trip will be, as leaving would be unbearable otherwise!! See for yourself, you will not regret it, but careful, you might be hooked forever, like the rest of us ;-)
Just returned from a 16 day experience "Forgotten Islands" and cannot wait until my next trip on this fabulous boat in August 2017. The Forgotten Islands tour was my second on the Seven Seas and my husband's first - we both loved it. The diving was fantastic (especially the manta rays!) interspersed with kayaking, fishing and a couple of land tours. We did 3 to 4 dives each day and some truly incredible (and remote) sites. The crew are all incredibly good at what they do and really work together as a team and with good humour. Meals were fantastic and it was amazing how well the various preferences of all guests were catered for. The wine selection was also excellent (perhaps a little too good as it was hard to say no to a relaxing glass of wine after a day of diving!). My husband was a bit nervous about being on a live aboard for 16 days as likes to do a variety of activities however this was absolutely possible including some very relaxing afternoon naps on the upper back deck lounge area :). My thanks to the Seven Seas team for making it such a fantastic trip - already booked in for August 2017 and December 2018!!!
I spent an unforgettable 12 nights cruising around the East of Flores on the Seven Seas and cannot recommend them highly enough. The boat is a stunning traditional Phinisi design offering comfort and practicality for ease of diving. The team was phenomenal with a wealth of experience and passion for ensuring all of the guests receive the highest standards of service, delicious meals, land based activities and of course diving and snorkeling in some of the richest waters on the planet!
The Seven Seas is a magnificent vessel to experience the rich waters of Indonesia, together with the most experienced and dedicated crew behind it, there is no question that you will have an unforgettable adventure. I joined for twelve nights exploring the East of Flores, the itinerary was carefully planned by Mark to ensure the best diving at the best times and also a diverse range of activities suitable for all on board. For the most part the Seven Seas was the only boat around, apart from a few local boats, we enjoyed the spectacular landscapes above and below water unaccompanied. When not submerging into some of the richest and biodiverse waters of Indonesia, there were also plenty of activities on offer topside from visits to local villages, kayaking, skirfing, fishing, to watching thousands of fruit bats commence their daily mission. The knowledge and commitment of the crew aboard the Seven Seas is inimitable; the food is delicious and plentiful, the cabins are well equipped and comfortable as are the communal areas, all this plus the world class diving makes for an exceptional voyage. I can’t wait to come back for more intrepid adventures with the Seven Seas!!
Being on the Seven Seas, unfortunately only four days, was a big present. Just go with the flow that’s on the boat. Look at the scenery during the days and the stars at night. Beautiful. But the most surprising scenery is under the water, amazing. We have been snorkeling for hours. Couldn’t stop looking around. The most surprising pictures are there, made of coral and fishes. The crew and owners of the Seven Seas know the spots and also the time of day that’s best to be there.
They give a short briefing before every dive or snorkeling. Tell you about the current and where to look for. They drop you with one of the small boats and guide you. Nothing is too much.
Around the trips in the water you will be spoiled with delicious meals, a great room and very nice atmosphere.
For many years I said: ‘I am not a fish, why go for hours in the water?’ I have completely changed my mind after being on the Seven Seas.
The highlights of my twelve night Komodo dive trip from August 14 to August 26 2016 was the nine Manta Rays we encountered on one dive at South Komodo. They were all around fourteen feet across and included one that was nearly all black. Our dive group was very sensible, staying fixed on the sea floor while the Mantas danced around us. It was pure magic!
We dived with them twice. On my second dive, I encountered a very tame female Hawksbill turtle. I swam with her for five minutes at a leisurely pace during my safety stop.
The other highlight of the diving was the magic reefs of the North Komodo islands. The fish life was prolific and the opportunities for underwater photography were outstanding. I saw walls and caves of coral gardens filled with bright colours and tried my best to capture it on film.
My other highlight was the night diving. We saw so many great things from Bobbit worms to Blue Spot Rays, Bob Tail Squid to Mantis shrimp and Crocodile fish to Robust Ghost Pipe fish. Then again, we did a lot of really good black sand dives and muck dives. There was plenty of variety.
There were loads of dive boats at some of the popular spots and some dives were a little crowded. I decided that the more divers that see the magic here, the more it will be preserved for posterity and the less likely for illegal fishing that has been a problem for so long in this part of the world will take place.
Life on board the boat was awesome. The new chef produced great food and many of his European style dishes were restaurant standard. Of course, his Indonesian food was great.
The crew were very friendly and helpful. The dive crew were of the highest standard, providing excellent critter spotting help and then went the extra yard to help us photographers get a good shot. Both Irwan and Jeffrey were highly skilled at making your dive come alive. Karl and Linda, the Trip Directors were also very professional and friendly, amongst the best I have dived with. I noticed that Karl often went out of his way to get to a better dive site or to put us on a site that had something special, such as the giant Frog Fish.
The boat is really comfortable. The cabins are very large and each one has a private en suite. I have done more than sixty live aboard dive trips. The Seven Seas is easily in the top few.
Finally, the guests on board got on extremely well and the camaraderie and good will and the friendliness of the crew made the trip one of the best I have ever done!
Seven Seas is one of the most experienced live-aboards operating in Indonesia. Operated by an Australian/Indonesian and a Dutch couple who have decades of experience in marine conservation and dive tourism in Indonesia, Seven Seas will take you to the best dive sites Indonesia has to offer. I joined Seven Seas various times over the past decade or so, and as an experienced diver I can highly recommend Seven Seas for both "hard core" dive expeditions and more laid-back family tours. I like Seven Sea's philosophy of having flexible itineraries, where the details are decided based on the preferences of the group and the current situation (tide and weather) --- I'd rather dive around slack than in the middle of the tide just because the itinerary was fixed. I had different trip leaders on my trips (Mark, Linda, Wai, and Karl), and they were all very good. Very friendly and knowledgeable crew, excellent food, and 100% commitment to guests. I will be back for more diving and cruising!
The underwater life was more than the amazing spectacle that I had hoped for. What made it phenomenal and a trip of a lifetime was the crew, hosts, and life aboard The Seven Seas. Karl and Linda were excellent hosts that I now consider friends. The guides Tamryn and Irwan were very friendly, approachable, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. The food was fresh, high quality, abundant and delicious - congratulations to the new chef and Widhi. Little John and Chris took good care of us every day. The tender drivers and attendants made getting in and out of the water a non-event! The boat captains found quiet places to anchor for the night and moved the boat around at most times without even any noticeable movement. The cabins were well equipped (soap, shampoo, towels, deck towels) and the beds were comfortable. The converter power strip made charging multiple gadgets a breeze. I cannot say enough positives about this company. In fact there was not 1 mediocre or negative experience. You have to give them a try!
This is without a doubt one of the best liveaboards in Asia. The owners, crew and dive team have a wealth of experience in Indonesia, and their knowledge of dive sites throughout the Indonesian archipelago is unsurpassed. Itineraries are well thought out and the journeys both above and below the water are unforgettable. The very high percentage of return guests is a testament to the Seven Seas success.
