**A really enjoyable way to see Tenby from the water**
My wife and I booked the two-hour kayaking adventure with Tenby Adventure and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The kayaks are fairly basic sit-on-top types, but they are perfectly suited to the trip. The route takes you around the caves and coastline near Tenby before heading a good distance along the coast to a lovely beach that is only accessible from the sea. After some time there, it was a steady paddle back towards Tenby.
The guide was friendly, competent and knowledgeable about the area. He took the time to explain the basics to those who were new to kayaking, while recognising that my wife and I already had plenty of experience. Having someone experienced on the water who knew the coastline also gave us confidence that, should anything have gone wrong, we were in capable hands, with the appropriate safety equipment and communications available.
The candid photographs taken along the way were another nice touch, both on the water and at the beach. It meant we could concentrate on enjoying the experience and came away with some good memories of the trip.
We felt the pricing was very reasonable for what was offered. Overall, it was a relaxed, enjoyable couple of hours on the water and a great way to see a different side of Tenby and the surrounding coastline.
One small point worth mentioning is the return of the kayaks. Rather than coming back up the beach where we started, the kayaks are returned via the harbour end, involving a fairly substantial walk up and over a rise and then down to the hut. After two hours on the water, that final bit of kayak logistics was surprisingly hard work! Perhaps there is scope to make the kayak collection a little easier for customers returning from the trip, particularly those of us who aren't quite as young as we used to be.
That aside, we had a great time and would happily recommend Tenby Adventure to anyone looking for an enjoyable way to explore the Tenby coastline by kayak.
