Got to go out with Capt. Rob for half-a-day excursion in July. Capt. He was nice and it was a fun ride out to try to the shelf to try a hook the big fish. Unfortunately, we came up dry after an hour of trolling the shelf. Switched to smaller tackle in the last 30 minutes and caught 2-3 little guys before Capt. Rob suggested heading back to the dock. Fun experience with the family, but will try another guide next time.

Our initial morning inshore trip had to be pushed back due to maintenance. I can understand that. Capt Joe showed up right at 1pm on time. We took out my 2 boys 11-13 along with my wife n I with the intention to land as many species as we could and take enough fish home for dinner. Joe did just that! He explained what we would catch and with every fish pulled in the boat he took the time to explain what how and why with my boys. The boys both had an excellent time as well as checking all the boxes on the catch list. Very personable. Handled himself and the boat very well. He did not miss a beat the entire trip. Highly recommend!

Late and didn't Listen Took my five-year-old and 7 year old grandson out with Captain Rob. He was late to the dock. I explained to him in the beginning that I wanted to catch quantity not quality for the little guys. He ignored that request and we trolled for over an hour with no success. Then when we finally did do some bottom fishing with bait he cut up a few pieces of squid and put them on our hooks and we caught nothing. Not once did he Chum or change our bait or even try a different bait. We caught one fish. We ended up going back in because people weren't feeling good and I lost all confidence in him. I was extremely disappointed and will not be using this company again. A waste of $900.00 and time.

Have fished with Captain Rob once or twice in each of the last 3 years. He's knowledgeable, an incredible boat handler in close quarters, and will move as often as necessary to put us on fish. We fish only tarpon and have never been skunked, even in rough weather. We've been on various Mixed Bag's, and all have been well suited to our kind of fishing. I have fished for tarpon in multiple places in the Caribbean over the last 53 years. Definitely recommend Cap'n Rob.

Capt. Robert was great. Fishing was slow but everyone was struggling. He did his best to put us on and we got the biggest bull mahi I’ve ever caught as a buzzer beater. Great dude nice boat and good vibes. We will be fishing with him when we come back! Took our catch to Tarpons Table and it was delicious.

Terrible experience Called one hour before boat was supposed to leave to tell us our trip was canceled … said the other boat was fully booked all day .. we stayed at the hotel next to the Marina and the boats did not move all day … Then when I texted him about the information I obtained he told me to eat sh$t ! Classless and the boats were in horrible condition

Captain Rob was incredible! He was very helpful, but never overbearing or bossy with instructions. Based on our fishing goals for the day, he was realistic yet accommodating. We were able to catch plenty of fish and have a ton of fun. I will recommend Mixed Bag and Captain Rob to anyone! Would give 10 stars if I could.

Our trip started out lovely until I helped my wife pulling her fish. Then all of a sudden the captain got very angry at me and told me not to do that shortly after that he had nothing but attitude with me the whole time try to be nice start a conversation. made the trip very miserable. After that. Once we arrived at the dock, he cleaned a couple fish and left us with about 3 pounds of fish out of 50 pounds we caught I would definitely not recommend this company or Carlos the captain he calls himself just a little boy. I have kids older than him and if they talk to me that way I would slap them silly, so I highly recommend not using Carlos who calls himself a captain.

Captain Hugo took my family and me out on a four-hour excursion from Red Hook. We did mostly in shore fishing and didn't catch much at first, but Hugo kept trying different spots until we started reeling them in. My 13 and 10 year old kids had a great time, and everyone caught something. Clean boat (Mixed Bag II), cold drinks and an experienced captain.

If you are looking for someone to put you onto alot of fish and create memories for many years to come, Captain Rob is the man to take you out in the Islands. Definitely a fitting name “Mixed Bag” caught some excellent table fare and some Reef Donkeys to get the excitement going.

TUNA TIME Capt.Kai and Capt.Robert were top notch group. We trolled for a bit and got some Bonita, a shark , a few huge barracuda and a King Mac that a shark or cuda helped themselves to before we got him on board. Kai shifted gears and all the while marking fish and getting set for some light tackle fishing. His masterful experience got us on the good stuff. TUNA TUNA TUNA! It was a GREAT TIME! Tuna on light tackle is so much fun! Between tuna and and blue runner or hard nose in USVI terms we were getting a workout! The only bad thing was we ran out of time🙃Thanks for a GREAT EXPERIENCE

We had an amazing time with Captain Rob today! Great fishing, great fun and a great Captain! My family (with the exception of 1) are not experienced. He made this the best vacation we’ve taken to the USVI’s by far! We will definitely be calling Rob for another fishing expedition in the future! (And we have dinner for 3 nights with our catch!)
