Had an amazing experience at San Idli! We ordered the Paneer Bhurji Dosa, Masala Dosa, and Mysore Dosa, and everything was absolutely delicious! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The staff (Harsha and one more guy I don’t remember his name) was wonderful, very friendly, and welcoming. I also loved their open kitchen concept, where you can see your food being freshly prepared. Such a great experience overall! Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves South Indian food. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Really happy to see this new Tamil restaurant make its way from San Diego to an already highly competitive food scene. A vegetarian-only menu is a bold bet, especially in an area with so many options, but they’re off to a fantastic start—and the food is doing the talking.
Everything we tried was incredibly fresh and made with so much care. The idli and vada were honestly among the softest I’ve had in a long time. You can taste the attention to detail in the preparation.
And the filter coffee deserves a special mention—excellent, with sugar thoughtfully served on the side. In today’s tariff-infused world, this felt like a meal that was genuinely worth every penny. Looking forward to going back and trying more!

I wish I could give zero stars. We ordered idli and poori, but the idli was half-cooked. We waited for someone to come over so we could show them, but all the employees stayed inside the kitchen and didn't pay any attention to the customers. They were just chatting, eating, and drinking coffee instead of attending to guests. Please don’t come here based on other people's positive comments! Also, for a place with 'idli' in its restaurant name, serving the worst idli is pathetic.
Later, the manager came over to us after returning from grocery shopping. He smelled terrible, like cigarettes and paan. He stood way too close to my face while talking, and I almost had to cover my nose. They lack basic manners, especially when speaking to a woman after smoking. He offered not to charge us for the idli, but at that point, I just wanted to leave immediately. Ultimately, we paid for nothing and walked out with a terrible experience. Waste of money . We visited the restaurant on sept 26 2026 around 12:30 pm .

Dosa was extremely dry. They gave a tiny spoonful of sambhar with it and it was terrible. And, worst Puri I’ve ever had in my life.

My daughter’s favorite dosa, their paneer bhurji dosa, is what draws us here. It’s one of the best dosas I’ve ever had, even though I’m not a huge fan of paneer. I usually prefer masala or aloo dosas. But their dishes are made with such high-quality ingredients and have a fresh, delicious taste. I often end up eating most of hers because I love it so much! The service is always great, and the owner/manager is incredibly sweet. He even gave us a blueberry dessert to try since it was her birthday. It was delicious! This has become one of our go-to spots for weekly meals. We love the great vibes, delicious food, and quality ingredients!

I had breakfast combo in the evening. They served good quantity with good quality. Kitchen neatness is really good which is clearly seen from dinning area. Dinning area is well organized.

San Idli is one of the best and most authentic South Indian restaurants in the Dallas area! The food is absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of authentic South Indian flavors.
The restaurant is extremely clean, the service is excellent, and the prices are among the most reasonable in the Dallas area. Great quality and value for the price.
A special mention to the owner, who is incredibly friendly, humble, and welcoming. He genuinely cares about his customers and makes you feel at home.
If you are looking for authentic South Indian food, excellent service, cleanliness, and very reasonable prices, I highly recommend San Idli. Definitely a hidden gem and a place we will keep coming back to!
