tracking datas from 2 income sources
I earn from both rental and self employement. There are limited options I found to manage both on a single software. since mtd is starting for me this tax year, I have to comply with digital records and submissions to avoid any penalties. so rentalbux has become a all in one software to get individual profit reports from both sources. I even trialed on how my quarterly submission would go in the future. and more to that i have saved around £200 yearly on the alternative of having 2 different softwares

I was searching for free software for mtd after trying many options I finally landed with rentalbux and even with free access, RentalBux offers useful features like guides, videos, and basic invoicing. I need to get a hang of the software before committing to it financially.

Great software, especially for the price of nothing.
Great software, especially for the price of nothing, I get to create invoice, schedule them to send it out to my clients, record bills, upload every invoice from my gallery and it automatically reads them and catagorise it accordingly. It soo easy to be MTD compliant now. this software is genuinely value for money.

dual income tracking made easy
having a business and also being a landlord means getting 2 softwares that will cost fortune…... Not to mention all that data entries of all income and expenses and hardwork to manage tenants and all admin requirement. Rentalbux is honestly a most helpful tool for handling both. it scans invoices and tracks them for book keeping while keeping track of my property and tenants requirement.

my partner and I manage rental properties.....
My partner and I manage our rental properties with RentalBux, and the option for separate submission and profit splits for joint property owners has been incredibly helpful for us. This feature might be especially useful when MTD arrives.

Fantastic and at just the right price
Fantastic and at just the right price. Especially the "Early warning" reminders that I get for expiring EPC or gas certificates are helpful to stay complaint with law. Also if I ever need proof of certificates or bills or anything it keeps them stored. great functionality for such low price point thanks!!!
Safety Checks are Made Simple
As a new landlord, I found the rules about safety checks confusing. RentalBux made it easier by showing what checks are needed and when they run out. It feels good to have EPC and gas safety dates recorded correctly and also the right way.

notifications and alert message is helpful for me.
I like that I can record EPC, gas, and smoke alarm checks in RentalBux and keep them linked to each property. The notifications are genuinely helpful, and it’s something I didn’t have in other software I used before. If I ever need proof, everything is stored in one place instead of being spread across emails and folders.

bank feed works well and pulls transactions straight from my account….
The bank feed works well and pulls transactions straight from my account. What I find useful is that the entries are already mapped to HMRC categories, so there’s less work later when checking figures when MTD comes for me.
decent software overall but auto unit creation feature stands out the most to me…......
decent software overall but auto unit creation feature stands out the most to me. I appreciate being able to decide what counts as a unit, rather than having the system decide for me. The automatic unit creation when setting up a property is helpful and reduces mistakes. But an Excel upload option for tenants information would be a welcome improvement.

Compliance tracking helps a lot
I don’t always remember renewal dates, so the compliance tracking helps. I’ve set up EPC and gas safety details, and the system flags when the checking deadline is approaching to pay the bills. The system overall is simple but with remarkable features.

Affordable Property Management
RentalBux didn’t pressure me to upgrade right away. The free version covers MTD-compliant tax submissions, property management, and compliance reminders, which made it easier for me to prepare for new requirements. It gives me plenty of time to adjust, since it is free for me until March 2026.

supports direct bank feeds as well as spreadsheet uploads.
I like that RentalBux supports direct bank feeds as well as spreadsheet uploads. Once the data is in the income and expenses are auto categorised in the HMRC-style chart of accounts. This helps keep everything organised. It’s not perfect every time, but it’s far quicker than doing handwork by myself.
using the invoice scan feature to upload bills from my phone
Ive been using the invoice scan feature to upload bills from my phone. The invoice details are picked up straight away, and most expenses are classified correctly. It’s not perfect every time, but it genuinely saves me a lot of manual work which I hate.
auto catagorisation feature reduces mistake
One thing I have found helpful in RentalBux is that the chart of accounts is already aligned with HMRC categories. When I record income or expenses... it categorises automatically. it helps reduce mistakes and would make year-end much easier compared to how I do it now.
