The food is amazing ! It is our go to Indian restaurant when we’re in the city… Great selection of dishes, their garlic naan is the best we’ve ever had - pillowy soft and full of fresh garlic. Constant great food every single time ! Highly recommend if you’re looking for delicious Indian cuisine.

Seriously the food is SO incredible!!!!! They care. Lot about the food and it definitely shows. My only feedback is that it’s way too loud but that can always be changed it was a Friday night. 1000000/10 would recommend best spot for Indian in NYC!!

Loved this place! The owner was awesome, brought us free mango drinks and even threw in extra rice when we ordered additional naan for leftovers! By far best Indian food I have had in the city!

Just had a fantastic meal at Red Onion. Was recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed. The staff was lovely and helped us order from their extensive menu. The standout for us was their Palek Paneer, but everything was delicious and different than your average Indian spot; more complex flavors. The place is a little dark for my taste in terms of lighting, but it was fun to get lost in the ceiling projections. Such a huge menu- we will be back to try more. Family run place which makes it feel homey.

Went here for dinner and had a fantastic experience. You can really taste the difference — the spices are sourced directly from India. The butter chicken was the best I’ve had, and the chai tea was authentic. The mango lassi is made fresh downstairs, and canned in-house. The owner even came by to explain where they source their meats and seafood. Our butter chicken originally came with bones, which we didn’t realize, but the owner quickly replaced it with a boneless version without any fuss. Excellent food and warm, thoughtful service — highly recommend!

Garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, mango lassi all made fresh in house with the best quality ingredients and the best spices imported from India. Amazing service and atmosphere go here for the best Indian food in the east village, possibly in the city.
