From start to finish we had excellent service. Michael gave us a tour of their mini factory and explained the options for our new door and frame. He visited our house to measure accurately, discussed door furniture and colours etc and submitted plans before we gave the go ahead. The installation team were equally good - friendly and efficient leaving us with a beautiful solid wood door and frame that we think looks great! We have no hesitation in recommending this company

We have recently completed a four year rebuild to a listed cottage. Nicholson Carpentry did an outstanding job making key elements on time and to an excellent quality. It was wonderful to find them after experiencing a painful time with companies who could not produce the quality or delivery we required.

We spent several months from January 2025 speaking with a number of front door companies to design, manufacture and install a wooden front door. Unfortunately, many either missed the brief, declined to install at our address after showroom visits, or simply became unresponsive, which delayed the project significantly. We eventually found Nicholson Carpentry & Joinery Ltd, and from the outset the experience was completely different. Initial discussions with Michael were positive and he then handed the project over to Will, who was outstanding throughout. Will took the time to fully understand our vision and was incredibly patient and attentive, despite numerous calls and emails as we refined the design and colour. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and every detail was carefully noted and executed. He genuinely helped turn our vision into reality. Installation by Sym and Harry was carried out with the utmost craftsmanship, care and attention. The quality of the workmanship was clear to see, and the finished result is exceptional. We would also like to recognise the craftsmen who built the door, although we don’t know their names, their skill is evident and they should be proud of their work. The stained glass was completed by Steven Cartwright Glass Designs, who Nicholson’s partner with. Steven took great care to create the glass exactly to our design, and the end result is stunning. Overall, the service, communication, workmanship and attention to detail have been second to none. We are absolutely delighted with our new front door and wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend Nicholson Carpentry & Joinery Ltd.

Excellent customer service from the initial enquiry to the final fitting and payment. Michael managed the quotation and carried out a very accurate set of measurements. Steve and Jordan did a great job when fitting the units, which were beautifully made by the factory team. Would strongly recommend NC&J for any type of hard wood window or door replacement.

Manufactured and fitted top quality wooden windows and hardware for us, installed to a high standard and all according to listed building stipulations. Produced initial general drawings for apraisal and then fully detailed drawings for inclusion in our listed building consent application. During installation, everyone on site was talkative, polite, approachable, good natured and knowledgeable - punctual, working quickly but with care. The overall project manager always responded promptly to messages and calls, was pro-active and defined a project timeline that was adhered to. Highly recommended.
