Prior to getting married in November of 2025, I went to many different wedding dress shops and tried on countless dresses, but none of them felt like me. I wasn’t feeling confident or like myself in anything I wore, and it affected my confidence, which is the last thing a bride wants to feel before her wedding.
After a bad experience at one of the larger bridal shops in NYC, I heard about Nazarela from a family friend. I booked a last-minute appointment that same day to consult with Natalia about the idea of making a custom gown. Immediately, Natalia made me feel at home and completely comfortable speaking with her about what I was envisioning. I felt at ease with her right away and fully trusted her vision.
In the months that followed, during which she designed my dress, she did not let me down. Natalia expertly crafted a gown that fit me perfectly, and she made sure to source the highest-quality materials for my design. The satin we chose was luxurious, and the lace we picked out was absolutely to die for.

Natalia is INCREDIBLE! I couldn't possibly fit everything into one review. I went to Nazarela after trying on probably close to 100 dresses, and nothing felt like me. I had walked by her shop so many times after living on 5th Ave for years, and decided to make an appointment. Natalia was so reassuring, talked me through her process, and offered advice about what would look best without being overbearing. As someone who is pretty indecisive, the wedding planning process was difficult for me - Natalia was patient, kind and accommodating throughout. After meeting Natalia, I told her that my husband and I would be moving out of state - she assured me that this wouldn't be a problem, and we scheduled out my fittings far in advance. She even scheduled two in one week while I was back on the east coast, making the alterations in just a few days!
Natalia made it a priority to make sure I felt comfortable and confident in my dress. When I met Natalia, I had fallen in love with the lace from another dress I had tried on; we ordered the lace so she could assess the quality, and made it work with one of her designs. When I called her in February (my wedding was in May) to inquire about changing the design to include the look of a two-piece, she said it was no problem, even leaving the top and skirt disconnected for my first fitting so I could make the decision after seeing how it fit. I loved the idea of a two piece, so we came up with a design that looked like a top and skirt from the front, but a full dress in the back. A month before the wedding, when I wanted to adjust the fit of the skirt, she made it work. The dress was SO comfortable and lightweight, and I was able to dance in it all night!
And... the cherry on top - I came to her in March with the idea to turn my mom's wedding dress into a pantsuit for our welcome party the night before the wedding. She whipped out her sketch pad and created a design that was beyond what I had envisioned. I got more compliments than I could have imagined on the outfits for both nights, and the best part was everyone telling me how much they felt like me. I couldn't be happier with my experience at Nazarela - Natalia is a true professional and I'd recommend her to anyone, especially an indecisive bride or someone who was struggling to feel like themselves in a more generic wedding dress!!

She remade a part that was missing, perfectly tailored it the way I wanted, and made sure it was done the most high quality way. I’d trust her with my dress over and over!
I got my wedding dress altered at Nazarela, Natalia was incredible. She was timely, kind, professional and has incredible standards. I requested a more complicated bustle and at my final fitting she adapted it to fall perfectly on the spot and ensured I walked out with my dress. I cannot recommend her enough!
Natalia worked with me over weeks (months?) to alter a wedding gown I bought online. Two weeks before my wedding day I decided I wanted to totally remake the skirt, and it was no problem. Natalia is the owner and master dress maker at Nazarela Bridal. She can custom make bridal gowns from scratch or provide customization and alterations for gowns that have been bought from other retailers. For my wedding (June 2022) I picked the Bonaire Gown from BHLDN (Anthropologie)because it fit me best and left room in my budget for alterations. The sales person attending to my fitting at the BHLDN show room in Manhattan (Feb 2019) recommended that I get the gown customized if I choose to buy it. Upon receiving the gown in the mail it was clear that I needed to make alterations to the length, add wider straps to ensure comfort and mobility, and add in an overlay along the bust for modesty and a bustle so I could dance in the gown at full length and still keep the train for our ceremony. I chose Nazarela because it's walking distance from my home and in Brooklyn and the shop had great reviews online. At my first fitting, Natalia was warm and welcoming. She patiently listened to everything that I wanted for the final version of the gown. She then expertly advised on the best options for the gown and was also helpful in explaining why a bustle was required. In total we did 3 fittings and the gown came out just the way I had hoped! I'm grateful that Natalia was patient and took such care in the execution of the gown. From start to finish the process took two months. I’m so happy and relieved to have the gown completed. I'll add some photos here once I have them from the Wedding! I highly recommend Natalia and Nazarella if you are looking to be well cared for leading up to your wedding day!
