Went here with a group of people, nice venue but it took forever for our food to arrive and it didn’t seem to be an incredibly busy night tbh.
If you are vegan, like myself, and you have to utilize the VGO menu items, I think it’s best to assume that that just means they will subtract any animal or dairy products on there and not substitute anything back on. Which is what happened with my meal. Incredibly disappointing, seeing as you’re still paying top dollar.
I ordered the Nasi Goreng and after they removed all the animal based products, I was left with vegetable fried rice and a small saucer of pickled vegetables. They didn’t substitute anything else into the meal instead, like some tofu or similar. It was a bland, boring, expensive dish.
Disappointing when it’s a special night out with friends.
Other people’s meals seemed fine, but I wouldn’t return to this restaurant if I was in Devonport again.
Mr. Good Guy has a fantastic atmosphere and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and helped create a really enjoyable dining experience.
The food was good, but I did feel it was a little overpriced for what was served. Nothing wrong with the quality, but when the bill arrived I was expecting the portions or flavours to have packed a bit more of a punch.
That said, the overall experience was still very positive thanks to the great vibe and excellent service. Definitely worth a visit if you're after a nice night out, just be prepared for prices that are perhaps a touch more ambitious than the food itself.
