By far one of the best experiences we had in costa rica! We have done several cooking classes in other countries before but this one was superb! When we arrived Elizabeth welcomed us into her home and had water and tea ready for us. We were a little nervous as it was only us two and Elizabeth for the class but she chatted away to us and told us stories about her life and got us involved straight away. We were soon chopping and mixing away with her and it really felt like cooking with a member of our family. We learned so much about how to cook costa rican food and also about costa rican life and living. After we finished cooking, we all sat down to eat the food at Elizabeth's dining room table. It was an amazing experience, thank you Elizabeth for opening up your home and giving us a slice of costa rican life!

We had lovely time cooking with Elizabeth - she is an incredible cook, and we helped her make chicken, sweet empanadas, tortillas, and gallo pinto - some of the best food we ate in all of Costa Rica! Would highly recommend for a fun in home cultural cooking experience.

We spent a wonderful morning in Elizabeth's home being welcomed with warm hospitality.
Learning about different ingredients and cooking a whole Costa Rican meal before sharing the meal with our lovely host was an unforgettable experience.
She has even sent her recipes so we can recreate them at home to share with friends and family.

How lucky we were to find Elizabeth’s cooking class in her home! Elizabeth is a delightful human being, a wonderful teacher and host. She made all of us comfortable with her instruction and her friendliness. The food was absolutely yummy and there was plenty of it. Highly recommend for an authentic, off the beaten path Costa Rican experience. We were also grateful for her clear instructions and for her arranging transportation to and from the experience.

Cooking traditional dishes in a local home was a highlight of my trip. Elizabeth is a wonderful cook and such a warm, welcoming person. Elizabeth’s cooking class was an absolute highlight of our entire Costa Rica visit. She is so sweet, so friendly and so welcoming. She made all of us, including our little kids feel so comfortable in her kitchen, involving them every step of the way. She curated a menu to our dietary preferences and it was such a joy to learn some local dishes from her, not to mention how delicious the final meal was! If you are in Monteverde please do reach out to her, and make a visit to her beautiful home, I promise you will have a wonderful experience. We can’t wait to recreate some of the dishes at home. We hope to visit her again if we visit Monteverde in the future.

We had such a wonderful experience at this Monteverde cooking class hosted by Elizabeth at her home. The space is simple, beautiful, and very clean, and it immediately feels welcoming.
Elizabeth was incredibly kind and thoughtful. She took the time to understand our dietary needs and made sure my wife could enjoy vegetarian dishes while also helping us prepare chicken for me. Everything felt unhurried and personal, like cooking with family rather than attending a formal class.
We learned how to make fresh tortillas, traditional rice and beans, and several other dishes, all hands-on and easy to follow. She also offered us fresh juice and coffee, which was a lovely touch.
This experience was authentic, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable. If you want to learn Costa Rican cooking in a comfortable home setting with a gracious host, this is absolutely worth doing. Highly recommended.

Our cooking class with Elizabeth was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, she welcomed our family into her home with warmth and genuine hospitality, making us feel immediately comfortable. Elizabeth is incredibly knowledgeable and explains each step with clarity and care, while also creating an atmosphere that feels relaxed, sincere, and enjoyable. The experience was engaging for all of us, including our two teens, and felt both personal and thoughtfully paced. Super sympathisch und authentische Kochschule. Die Lehrerin ist einfach nur spitze und man fühlt sich gleich wie ein Teil der Familie! Auch die Gerichte können spontan nach wunsch angepasst werden. Vielen Dank!
