As a 77 year old out of state driver attending a wedding in the area my brake lights went out the night before my 4 hour drive home. When i called to see if they could replace the bulb that day I was told to bring my car in. Customers in the waiting room waiting to have their cars repaired, phones ringing like crazy they were able to help me within minutes. Knowing that I would not be a repeat customer due to the distance I was amazed how professional and helpful they were. I am making sure that my niece and all her friends are aware of your shop. I cannot thank you enough for your help.

Overpriced! Was trying to charge over $2k to change an alternator for a 2011 Lincoln MKX. They alleged they couldn’t get the belt off. That’s a scam! They never tried. The owner thought l towed my car in. I drove it in. If you checked my vehicle you would have known that!!!!! The greed is unreal. They give you one price and then claim all this hardship to rip you off. To their advantage, all the shops claimed that same issue without even trying. I was quoted that problem by other shops that did not take my car apart to look at it. One shop called me before l reached home. It’s a standard lie across the board. Greed is ruling!!!! All these shops are on board! I did get it done for $1500 at Pep Boys which is a lot better than $2k. My car was fixed quickly! Hence there was no hardship with replacing the alternator just greedy thieves!

I would have to look into the details to see what part was quoted to you as we sometimes offer different options depending on the tier of part requested. There could be a less expensive option for parts available and sometimes that makes sense for the customer. We like to install quality parts with a proven track record to avoid issues down the road and it is why we offer a three-year/36,000 mile-warranty on all the work we perform here. This could have been miscommunication on our end not explaining that to you.

I saw online Mike’s had good ratings. I stopped in one day because my dashboard lights were on .. I was told they didn’t have time, to make an appointment. I was worried about what was happening with my car so I went elsewhere -
Joe’s Foreign Auto. I was serviced immediately, no issues. Great people, no upselling, fair prices.
I gave another shot - stopped in for oil change. Was told they were booked out for weeks. Could not help, even tho I was willing to wait. I drove just up the road to Modern & was immediately serviced, out in 20mins. They accepted a competitor’s coupon also .. Twice now I’ve gone to this shop without any service - Won’t be a third time
I guess the good reviews are from people who had appointments lol

I went online early in week to book an appointment - There were not 1 but 5 openings on a Thursday I was off from work, I booked a slot. Following day I received a call that my appointment was invalid & next available was a Tuesday coming up. I told the guy your system shows several openings? I was confused? He responded that needed to be looked into. I did not have Tuesday off - That Thursday I walked into another shop, Computer Tune & Lube in Middletown. No appointment. I was in/out in 20mins. Gentlemen there were friendly, accommodating & I paid only slightly higher than the coupon you’re offering.
So does everyone then have to reach out to you directly to receive a smooth experience? Because these are my experiences ..

Be careful with mikes. My fiance went in with her ‘22 ford explorer for an emissions test. Mikes failed the vehicle claiming there was an issue with the OBD port and that we should take it to a mechanic, or they could take a look at it for us. She drove five minutes down the road to tasca ford, emissions passed, no issues with the vehicle.
Ford updated their emissions testing protocol in 2021, and it appears mikes is not up to speed on it. Thankfully we didn’t hire a mechanic and waste a couple hundred dollars on diagnostics for a problem that didn’t exist.
Hi James, I can understand your frustration and I'm glad it didn't cost you anything out of pocket and you were able to complete the test. The emissions program is tested and updated regularly at all test centers in the program including ours. There may have been a glitch on your test that didn't allow it to communicate with your car at that time.

What's not on the bill is the hourly labor rate and how many hours you are being charged for labor, at that specific labor rate.
It seems that Mike sold Mike's Auto.
They are extremely overpriced and it's a bit sketchy they don't put how many hours they are billing you for when it comes to the labor charge. First time I've ever seen that. Most places show how many hours they worked on your vehicle and the labor charge for those hours. Gonna have to run this by the Attorney General and DMV. They also don't have the hourly labor rates visible in the lobby. That's sketchy too. The mark up they charge on the parts is also insane. Google the part they replaced on your vehicle and see the market. It's criminal. They even charge more than the dealer does for OEM parts.

I had a fabulous first visit and will be returning for all future repairs/maintenance! My car was starting sluggishly and had a vibration when braking. I called Mike's and they were able to get me in the following day. My service advisor, Lou, was very friendly and informative. He explained everything going on with my car and answered every question I had. They found play in my Tie Rods which is a huge safety issue but I had no idea as the play develops slowly and I was used to driving with the loose feeling. As the repairs were going to take a few days, Lou coordinated a Lyft ride for me to the shop so I could pick up one of their loaner cars. I appreciated this immensely as it allowed me to go to work/meetings without interruption. When I picked up my car, the steering wheel and my brake pedal are nice and firm, they feel like brand new! My A/C started blowing warm air and Honda quoted me $3800 to repair the condenser, A/C lines, O-rings, and recharge. I spoke to Trent and he advised me to bring my Honda Pilot in for him to asses and he was honest and thorough. Come to find out the A/C lines were fine and I was able to get my A/C fixed for $1500 and a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty thanks to Mike's Auto Repair. Will definitely be coming back for all my future repairs, great staff and service!
