It's a great experience to celebrate fall. I recommend weekday visits as the parking can get congested on the weekends. We buy fried seedless blackberry pies. Be patient, there are a lot of people.
What a great experience! Inexpensive way to spend the afternoon, eat apples of the tree while sitting in the shade 😀 now the store is another thing, be ready to spend 😀 because there is so much to choose from. We will definitely be back when they have more apple options, unfortunately they only had 1 the crimson crisp, which was delicious but it'll be nice to enjoy several other options. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Eleven of us went, two babies. We had a blast, picked apples. Their gift shop is enormous. Had to buy way too many pastries, but they were all excellent. You must go, great time
Fun place, really set up nice with shop loaded with yummy goodies and lots of apples, of course! Nice place to pick apples or bask in the sunshine with several outdoor seating areas. Plenty of parking!
A true visual experience! Much to see, smell, and the grounds are stunning! Lots of food types, syrups, and all kinds of goodies, not just apple... And fried pies! Hands down worth the wait in line! Changed things around some... miss the deli... and they didn't have the potato salad that day! Another reason to go back! 😋
We have been to Mercier orchard many times Today was the worst . 1.cider line was so long no menu working so people didn’t know what they wanted until the were up at the counter. The bakery lines were disorganized no one was telling us what the white papers for ordering were and nobody told us or let anyone know that after waiting in the long line the were out of certain pies.
If you like, standing in lines over and over again, you will love this place. Come into the market where you will stand in one of five long lines in order to purchase a pastry, but you don’t get to purchase it at the counter. You have to stand in a line that wraps around half the building to check out and pay for the pastry.
Then you can go outside to stand in another line to buy your ticket to pick apples (they won’t let you buy the ticket inside when you’re checking out) but that line that you stood in is not the line that you’ll need to stand in to get on the tractor ride that takes you to the apples. That line is much longer and very slow. But for about half the time that you’re in the line, you will have some shade.
After the tractor ride takes you to the apples you can pick some apples, but if you want to take how many of the apples you’ll need to pay them more money for a bag they no longer include any apples in the “you pick” ticket.
And then guess what you’ll stay in line to get back on the tractor. We had to wait three whole rounds of tractors to come.
It was a very hot Monday in October standing in line a lot.
Blueridge is about an hour and a half (if not a little more) from Atlanta. Additionally, there was some road construction very close to this, so there was a lot of traffic on the off-road getting to the Orchard and then there are lots were all very full so you had to walk a pretty long distance just to get up to the market.
They did have several food trucks outside by the tractor rides. I noted the Varsity truck wanted $5 for a single sweet tea.
Other example, examples of prices… inside it was $4 for an apple fritter, $1.25 per donut, $3 for a cinnamon roll. $9 for a dozen donuts. One of the main attractions there is their market, which is huge (and pricy) but please keep in mind that we stood in line for over 15 minutes just to check out.
Mercier sold 1.3 million fried pies in 2025 alone!
They have 55 varieties of apples. And about 108,000 apple trees. On a given “ you pick “ weekend you’ll probably have 2 to 3 varieties to choose from. The hundreds of acres include property across the street.
I think the key for me was how unbelievably rude the lady selling the tickets to the tractor rides was. I was so surprised that she was trying to upsell the Apple bags and said that you don’t get to take any home. I told her we had been there two years before and got a small bag included with the ride and she said she had worked there since 2018 and that has never been the case and I was wrong. Proving her wrong was not the most important part of my day so I let it go, but I did tell her that I had photos that I had literally just looked at and I know that they did include a small bag.
Love this place ... if you want cider, fried pie, kitchen ware, toys, sauces, snacks and more ... it's the place for you. They have "u pick" of a variety of things ... now they've added slushies ... oh my. Don't miss out ... there is SO MUCH MORE!
Very pleasant
Merele sunt de o calitate excelentă. Iar mica fermă a fost surpriza care ne-a surprins foarte plăcut. Recomand!
It was very busy. A little too busy for the person that drove up. So I only looked around. Trying to find people we were meeting.
Nice market with so many choices of apple related foods and plenty of other offerings!! Apple tastings too which helped us decide which variety we wanted. Prices are fair. Only disappointment is we thought they served breakfast (according to Google) which they haven't had in years. Highly recommend.
A must visit when in the area. We came home with lots of goodies including the best apple cider and the delicious fried pies (blackberry, apple and cherry)! Huge Selection, nicely organized & they even have hayrides to the orchards where you pick your own apples. Highly Recommend Mercier Orchards!
Just a fun way to spend some time not cheap prices
