Menards is much more than a hardware store. I cannot speak for their tool selection, because I do not buy many. Their selection of spray paint is more extensive than Lowes. Their selection of stone pavers and other concrete is at least 2x that of Lowes. Lowes does have a better selection of spring plants most of the time, but they are more expensive. Menards generally has a good selection of petunia and basic other flowers at a better price.
Menards also has some food basics. It is convenient if you just need bread, milk or some basic canned goods or soda. I do not have to bother going to a grocery sometimes. Their malted milk balls are excellent. They carry Herr brand potato chips while Kroger does not. I like the barbecue, and they can be hard to find elsewhere .
On this trip I purchased 20 paver blocks. An employee approached and asked me if I wanted help loading them. Would this
have happened at Lowe's? Probably not .They also generally have a mail in rebate of 11% which is nice.

Menards is the most affordable store around. They have great prices on everything from laundry soap, toilet paper to tools and pet food. Their customer service is far superior to any other company I’ve ever shopped at. The manager Kenny was very friendly and helpful.

We love browsing their snack aisles as we pick up home supplies. I grabbed a few packets of flower seeds that were on sale.
