Maryland Ground Covers proved perfect again in January 2026 for our home! They delivered seasoned firewood (cordwood) for the second time. The fuel is excellent. placed promptly and expertly by a skilled driver with solid knowledge. This was in addition to fabulous deliveries of mulch and hardwood in the past. The residents, woodstove, and grounds of a modest house are happy with Maryland Ground Covers!

Five stars for excellent Maryland Ground Covers! They provide high quality at proper prices. We had two types of mulch delivered to our home in separate years. They are in the business for the long haul as well: a member of our household worked for a garden center for years, and Maryland was the "go to" company! Our garden looks great and plants are healthy. Maryland Ground Covers Inc. is a big part of success for many people!

Call for 30 yards of mulching and in half an hour they were in the place, it was very fast, I recommend it.
I called to order 3 yards of #57 gravel and a little over 1 hour later it was sitting in my driveway. Called me to confirm drop location as I was away at work. I'll be calling Maryland Ground Covers again in the future. Thank you!
Great customer service, their product’s are always available, great pricing and quickly loaded onto my trailer. I will definitely recommend them to anyone looking for their products.

Maryland Ground Covers has always been there to help me out. I’ve been working with them for 14 years since I started my business and the owners are very friendly and always willing to help in a pinch. Can’t say enough good things about this business!
I easily ordered 3 yds of the fill dirt by phone. Was able to coordinate delivery when I knew I’d be home. Prior to this we had a week of wet weather so I was concerned that a load of mud would the result. Mr. Will of MD Ground Covers delivered a dry bed of dirt the same week! Very professional in handling the dump truck on a narrow hill and kind enough to alert me and allow me to relocate my vehicle to the street before he unloaded. He showed great care in angling the truck to the desired ‘drop zone’ making sure to account for the bed lift so near to the house. Very thorough and finished with a broom to move every grain of dirt from the truck. Thanks so much! Recommended!
When I need someone to leave a huge, steaming dump in my yard, Maryland Ground Covers is the only one I trust to do it right. The only thing I could possibly complain about is the size of the pile, but really I can only blame myself for that...
Quality product. Delivered next day. Driver got ALL ten yards of mulch on the tarp. These guys have the process down.

Great and prompt service. We got mulch and compost from them last year and were happy with it. Unfortunately, we’ve had two compost deliveries this year where the compost is too hot and still cooking - so hot it turns gray in the lower layers. And it’s not safe to use with plants, yet.

Thank you for your review, I would like to start with if there is ever an issue, please reach out to us by phone so we can talk and try to resolve any concerns. The compost is very well regulated by the state and tested quite often. EPA standards and guidelines are closely followed for time and temperature monitoring, pathogen reduction, and weed-seed kill. If you are interested, I can send you all the testing that is done. The compost is safe to use but it is acidic, so we usually recommend to mix it with soil you already have or use the topsoil/compost mix.
I just spoke with our compost "guy" the gray that you are seeing is caused by a microorganism that gravitates to the pile when sitting. It can be caused by moisture (in the product and/or air) and temperature. The term is Saprophytic fungi and this can actually be beneficial to the decomposition process. If the pile is turned with a shovel the gray "ash" type look will go away. The compost is again safe to use and it is done "cooking"

I would like to bring to attention the superb and outstanding service that was provided by one of your workers (I didn’t catch his name) in the Olney region (07/29/21) that helped load gravel into our backyard. He went above and beyond to ensure that we had it delivered straight into our backyard despite to make it easier for us. Give that man a raise please, he truly deserves it. In and out within 10 minutes, hard working, sincere and all around a solid worker. 11/10!!
