Our family enjoyed spending Thanksgiving week at the 'Bikini Bottom' house in Marathon, FL. We wanted to hold a family member's celebration of life in the Florida Keys and this rental worked well for our party of 8. The house was centrally located along the keys in Marathon, about a 3 hour drive from Ft Lauderdale airport, which saved us an additional 1 hour 15 min drive to stay on Key West. (We visited Key West on a day trip and felt it might have been nice to spend 2-3 days there, for variety, but Marathon has plenty to offer.) The house was also spacious and well appointed. (We made Thanksgiving dinner, and only needed to buy a few foil pans.) I especially appreciated the outdoor amenities: pool, jacuzzi, putting green, BBQ — and plenty of seating both on the patio and the 2nd level balcony. We were fortunate to have a huge manatee swim into our canal — a fun sight to see. When we needed a few things remedied, KeysCations responded swiftly. The whole process of securing the rental, checking in and checking out went smoothly. The only drawback was that 2 of the bedrooms mentioned queen sized beds on the description but they definitely looked like doubles. Otherwise, the home was as advertised on VRBO.

We had a wonderful time at the Buchanan Layton Home! The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had plenty of space for everyone to relax. The guys loved fishing off the dock and caught all kinds of fish they’d never seen before. We spent our days swimming in the pool, lounging by the water, and taking in the gorgeous sunsets each evening. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the home had everything we needed for a perfect vacation. This place truly felt like our own piece of paradise — we would definitely recommend it to friends and family!

The home is beautiful, the best view of the sunset from anywhere we went on our trip! The house is very large, so much room to spread out. We saw nurse sharks (two were even mating!), tons of iguanas and birds of all kinds. We were hoping to see manatees, but no luck this time. We enjoyed every moment of our trip to the beautiful Keys! I would definitely stay here again! BTW... they do have paddleboards! They were not in the listing, but they are there.

We rented a vacation home last week from KeysCations on the Gulf side. We have been vacationing in Marathon for 30 years. My family and I were extremely pleased with the home, condition of home, very nice pool, kayaks and the ability to park our boat. The home was well maintained and had everything needed for a week on the water with family. This was our first time renting with KeysCations and would highly recommend renting with them on your next stay in the keys!!

Our family has an amazing time staying at the Buchanan Layton House. The house was super clean, plenty of space, with so much to do from swimming in the pool and ocean, fishing from the amazing dock and watching the sunset. This place was paradise. We would highly recommend!
