When I bought my house, the inspection report absolutely roasted the siding: multiple paragraphs of red text containing phrases like "elevated moisture levels detected," "failed/missing caulk noted," "signs of minor swelling/delamination," and "may suggest recent non-professional repairs" were followed by page after page of annotated photographs spelling out exactly what I was getting myself into.
I knew I had to have the house re-sided at some point, but this entails an overwhelming number of decisions. What type of siding material? What brand, texture, color, style? Custom molding options? Maybe some shingle siding under the gables for a dash of sprezzatura? What other repairs or replacements could be performed while we're at it? Maybe the 75-page inspection report has some suggestions?
David at Ideal Siding helped us keep the project's scope reasonable and manage all the decisions that needed to be made to get to the point where we were no longer Just Talking, and progress was finally being made on the project. As new siding started going up, I was impressed by the crew's attention to detail. No feature was too small for proper waterproofing: some of the flashing strips and drip edges they installed were under two inches in length. A contractor with less integrity would have been tempted to cut those corners.
The most difficult stretch of the project was when the old siding finally started started coming off of the north side of the house to reveal all the water damage that the inspection report had darkly foreshadowed years prior. This included a balcony that was literally rotting, and which required a full tear-out and rebuild, along with some repairs to damaged structural members underneath. All of this work was done properly (including additional waterproofing for the balcony floor performed by a specialized subcontractor) despite the fact that all the repairs were now causing the project to run behind schedule.
In the end, everything wrapped up perfectly, including the finishing touches towards the end of the project like window and door replacements and various patio repairs. I've had contractors screw up far simpler jobs than this (and then lie about it!), and I know of few feelings more reassuring than working with people like David and Yuri at Ideal Siding, who know that there's more to doing a "professional" job than asking for money.

We recently had Ideal Siding install James Hardie siding on our home. While the final result looks good, our experience was somewhat mixed due to communication issues throughout the project.
The initial communication leading up to the project was solid, and we were assured we'd work closely with a Project Manager. Unfortunately, once the project began, there were several miscommunications between the Project Manager and the crew. For example, the crew didn’t show up on the scheduled start date, and there were two days of no work due to equipment issues. Despite being told the crew would be there daily, the project took longer than expected. I think this would have been understandable if there was clear and proactive communication but this wasn't the case.
When we reached out for updates, we were told our situation was unique, but the lack of clear communication left us frustrated. Ultimately, the siding looks great, but the process could’ve been smoother with better communication.

David Park, the project manager for this job, was an excellent communicator and had an “open ear” when some concerns were raised on my end. We were able to discuss the project to its end, and even had a “post game” conversation. The crew worked hard, but unfortunately an unexpected delay occurred. We found Ideal Siding via a google search when we wanted to replace our old wooden siding with James Hardie Plank. Project manager David Park responded to our initial inquiry and gave us a very competitive bid. He was helpful and informative in educating us about the materials and process. We scheduled a start date and work began on time. Work was done efficiently and in a timely manner. Our house is over 100 years old so of course some unexpected issues came up after the removal of the old siding, but David was able to work with us to revise the bid to our satisfaction to encompass the additional work needed. Throughout the process, he was responsive and communication was great. The entire work crew was thorough and efficient, and any issues that arose were quickly addressed.
