Evan has to be the best tour guide out there! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and very in tune with the capabilities of his group. Not to mention the group was nice and small which gives you the opportunity to see all that’s out there on the glacier. Easily the best experience we could have asked for.

Glacier tours
An amazing 10 out of 10 experience hiking over the Solheimajokull glacier of Iceland with Vangelis. Vangelis is a joyful person and an excellent and well organised professional tour guide. He provided to all the participants high quality equipment and clear instructions on how to use them to ensure our secure tour on the glaciers. During the activity Vangelis shared very interesting information related to the glaciers and their evolution over the years and the climate change. An once in a lifetime experience that I strongly recommend to do with Vangelis as your guide.

Amazing experience! The guide was super friendly and knowledgeable. I took my 15 year old and 12 year old boys on the trip and he made them feel comfortable and safe. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting a little adventure on their net trip to Iceland.

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! We did the glacier with Hyperborea and it was absolutely incredible. Vaggelis, our guide was knowledgeable, educational and very fun throughout the tour. We felt super safe under his guidance and he took us to some amazing secret spots in the glacier. Will recommend this to anyone who visits Iceland.

A truly memorable experience that you need to have during your lifetime!
Our yoga retreat group did an unforgettable day trip to hike Sólheimajökull. Evangelos was responsive via email and flexible with scheduling. On the day of the trip, the drive in his SUV was smooth, and Evan provided us with all the necessary glacier hiking equipment and taught us how to use them. The weather was perfect, the views were breathtaking, and it was definitely something that will be memorable for a lifetime!

Experience of a lifetime on top of the Solheimajokull Glacier in Iceland
Every citizen of rhe world within this reasonable travel distance from Reykavik should visit Solheimajokull Glacier to understand the severity of our planetary climate emergency. You see a magnificent and stark reminder of how our actions are playing out in the form of this retreating glacier. You can see this from the safety of a viewing area. But if you are up for it, walking up on it is the experience of a lifetime. And for that you need a guide. This was my first experience as an older but reasonably fit (not super-fit) woman. Evan was the perfect guide for me and our small friend group of varying degrees of fitness and age. He is a deeply caring naturalized citizen of Iceland who has all the technical skills and experience, with the patience, kindness and sense of fun that elevates an adventure. You can't go wrong with Evan.

Waterfalls, Glacier Hiking, and Puffins!
We had a fantastic tour with ideal weather conditions. Evangelos picked us up from our apartment on time and was fun and informative with our group, all of us in our 60's. We viewed and hiked around 2 beautiful waterfalls, and experienced hiking on the glacier until one of us in the group experienced some fear. Evangelos was patient, kind, and got us back safely. Then we saw hundreds of Puffins from the black sand beach, a highlight. It is so worth the money for a private tour with Evangelos.

Ice climbing a glacier with 3 friends
The coolest guy and the most fun experience! If you want a fun and personal experience of Iceland this is the way to go! Worth every penny and then some! I went ice climbing with three friends and we all had an amazing experience you will not regret booking this!!!!!

Amazing experience, highly recommend
This was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience! Evangelos took my 3 friends and I ice climbing at the sólheimajökull glacier. It was a private and personalized tour, something you don't get with the larger tour companies. We went to a few different climbing spots, increasing in difficulty as we became more confident on the glacier. It truly was an awesome experience, I highly recommend booking with Hyperborea Tours!

Amazing experience 10/10 no complaints
This was an amazing tour! We were very close to booking with the larger arctic adventure agency but decided to go for a smaller and more personal tour and it could not have been a better decision. We were able to choose to go on extra adventures with more difficult walks and climbs. In our 4 hours we went to 3 different climbing spots all with amazing views and increased difficulty at our discretion. Tour guide was very nice and helpful. This felt like a pretty dangerous hike but we were given proper safety equipment and instructions and I felt 100% safe the entire time. 10/10 would recommend, this is a once in a lifetime type of experience. Thank you!

Fantastic tour and guide!
Our family of four (two adults, a teen, and preteen) went on this tour and had a wonderful time. We had all been looking forward to the Super Jeep and it did not disappoint. Not just because of all of the beautiful scenery, but especially because of our guide, Evangelos. He was such a cheerful and experienced guide through some occasionally stormy weather (he even rescued two separate cars out of two separate rivers while we were on our tour!). He even brought delicious baked goods for our mid-afternoon stop. We had a lot of fun, got to explore areas we never would have discovered on our own, and have memories to last a lifetime. This tour with Hyperborea will be my recommendation to anyone I know planning a trip to Iceland in the future!

A great day in Thorsmork!
My parents, husband, and I took this super jeep tour of Thorsmork and we absolutely loved it! We were staying in Vik, so it was especially helpful to be able to arrange for pickup in Hvolsvollur instead of Reykjavik. Our tour guide was waiting for us at the pickup location when we arrived. The super jeep was big enough to fit all of us comfortably, and with our tour guide at the wheel we traveled the F-roads and crossed rivers without any worries. One person in our group has a tendency to get motion sickness on rough drives, but he sat in the front passenger seat and didn’t have any problems even when the road got a bit bumpy. Evangelos was our tour guide for this trip, and he was incredibly kind and considerate. He took us to some excellent sites and gave us plenty of time to explore, and at no time did any of us feel rushed. We were a group of mixed physical ability, and Evangelos enabled all of us to customize our participation in the hikes to fit our comfort levels. He was knowledgeable about the sites we visited, and provided snacks and beverages during our stop at the base camp. Overall, this tour was a great value and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a private tour of Thorsmork.

The best experience in Iceland
We were a family group with varied ages. Going ice climbing with Hyperborea was the best experience we had on our trip to Iceland. An incredible few hours where Evangelos taught us everything we needed to climb in ice with the maximum possible safety. We discovered several walls and cracks where we could unleash our desire to climb and, of course, our adrenaline. He adapted the difficulty to the level of each of us. Definitely a highly recommended experience. Evangelos, a magnificent Guide, prepared and with very good conversation.

Perfect guide for an amazing experience
We were so glad that we booked a tour with Evangelos from Hyperborea tours. He took our family of four (2 parents, 2 teenagers) to parts of the glacier that the big tour groups weren't able to go to. He catered to our interests and experience and even belayed us down into one of the large crevices to see an ice tunnel. Evangelos knew the glacier extremely well, had new high-quality equipment, and made us feel safe the whole time. We highly recommend his tour for this once in a lifetime experience.

AMAZING
We did a (private) climbing trip with Evangelos. Really loved it. Not only the scenery of the glacier, but also the calm explanation and guiding from Evangelos. Normally I’m really scared doing things like this, but I really loved it. He really took the time, didn’t rush anything. Showed us beautiful views. Really recommend this to everyone who’s into glaciers and wants just that little extra to explore Iceland. It’s so different to see a glacier from a distance then walk on it or climb it. First I wanted to organise a glacier hiking tour, but that also comes along with this trip! Evangelos took photos and videos of us, so we have a great thing to look back on. Really wanted to do it again during our trip.

We had a fantastic tour with ideal weather conditions. Opting for the 10am slot was a great choice, creating a perfect experience on the glacier. Evangelos was outstanding, providing plenty of information and being patient throughout. We never felt hurried, allowing us ample time to explore and capture photos. Exploring remarkable parts of the glacier, made the three-hour hiking thoroughly enjoyable and surpassed our expectations.
