Eric was AMAZING! Today I had a 75 minute deep tissue massage with him and it was honestly probably the best massage I’ve ever had in my life. He brought such a perfect balance of restoration and relaxation. I left feeling stress leave my body, but also feeling relief in all of my sore spots. I may or may not have booked a few more appointments with him. lol can’t wait to return!

John and London were exceptional, they helped my partner with some pretty challenging shoulder pain that was causing headaches. Hasn't had problems since and I haven't slept as well as I did that night in a long time. 5 stars isn't enough.
Got a couple's massage here recently and had a great experience. My partner is a trans man and was a little apprehensive about getting a massage (you never know how people will react), but this place was super welcoming and made him feel comfortable. Really interesting location, too.
Eric was so professional and calming to me, he understood exactly what I needed to combat my occupational stresses to my shoulders and upper back. I have never felt so much better after a massage and plan to make this a regular destination! Thank you Eric!

I had an incredible experience with London Yancey at Westside Massage. The entire place has such a beautiful moody and relaxing atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease.
London was extremely thorough and attentive throughout the whole session, and the pressure was perfect from start to finish. He’s gentle but still very strong when needed, which made the massage both relaxing and effective at the same time. You can tell he genuinely cares and pays attention to what your body needs.
He definitely gained a client for life. Honestly, I would book an even longer session if I could.
John and London were amazing! We came in for a late mother's day couples massage. This was by far one of the best massages I have ever had. For both my wife and I, they took the time to target muscle knots and work through tight areas. It felt like an amazing massage and a chiropractor visit in one! 100/10, highly recommend. If we lived closer, they would be our go to!

Courtney at Westside is amazing. She is intuitive and responsive to changing needs. I came in thinking I had an hip injury which evolved into an autoimmune diagnosis across 2 years. It’s been validating to pair my internal experience with her observations. She adapted treatment as we figured out what worked best! Highly recommend. Street parking is usually easy and having rooms in old bank vaults is definitely unique.

Courtney is such a compassionate and skilled massage therapist, and I can always count on being so heard and valued before, during, and after my appointments, not to mention completely refreshed with problem areas addressed and even resolved. Booked an appointment with London on a whim because WSM is close to my work. I’m so glad I did, I’m now a lifetime client. Every massage has been stellar and I couldn’t recommend him more. You will not be disappointed with your experience!
Unfortunately I will be giving a negative review after my recent experience with Westside Massage. I booked a couples massage for the Friday before Valentine’s Day. 10 days after making the appointment, they called me to “update my card on file” to reserve my appointment. After speaking with someone on the phone, they asked for a $100 deposit since it was a “holiday weekend”. They did not state that these appointments would not follow their usual cancellation policy and that the deposit was non-refundable. With five days notice, I found out that I had to attend a memorial service and called to reschedule the appointment to a later date. I asked if I will get the deposit back since giving them ample notice, or if I could reschedule to a new date and use the $100 credit then. The masseuse on the phone clarified with management in the moment that it was a non-refundable or transferable deposit. As an existing client of Westside Massage for many years, I have never cancelled an appointment or not shown up. If these terms and conditions of a “busy holiday” weekend had been stated upon booking or placing the deposit, I would understand, but the cancellation/reschedule policy on the website is a 24 hour notice. Even if the time slot is booked in the next five days, my deposit will not be returned. I will be finding a new place for my massages in the future.
Allie - when we processed your deposit, you stated that you understood and agreed that it was “nonrefundable“ as well as the rationale behind it. I just don’t understand why you’re not being truthful about that. We have zero to gain by tricking people or treating them unfairly - with that being said we have appreciated your business and wish you the best.

I spoke with Ursula regarding my interests in receiving a medical massage due to some knee and hip issues. Ursula took the time to listen to my concerns and provide helpful feedback on the best course of action. I received a fantastic medical massage from Lauren and will gladly continue going to her for services! Lauren made my first massage experience comfortable and went above and beyond to work through my needs. I will continue to recommend Ursula and her team for services!

I was worried that since I needed to cut the massage short it would feel rushed. The opposite was true, I felt like Courtney was still able to focus on the areas I discussed prior to getting on the table. I was able to fully drop into the massage and walked out tension free. I could not recommend Courtney enough!
Next time I’m in Grand Rapids I will be sure to book a massage or a couple at Westside Massage. I can only imagine how talented everyone on the team is.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to receive a massage due to an issue that came up before my appointment. I missed the scheduled time because of a genuine miscommunication at home that left me without my car (nanny took my daughter to open gymnastics in my car - she didn't realize I had an appointment). I took responsibility, explained the situation, and immediately rebooked for the following week, asking if the missed-appointment fee could be waived just this once given that I had already rebooked and the circumstances.
While I understand policies exist, the response felt rigid and lacking empathy. As a mom juggling work, kids, and making time for self-care, I expected more kindness and understanding—especially in a holistic wellness space.
The phone interaction was also disappointing. Lauren came across as unprofessional in tone, and it felt like her response was being directed by her manager, Ursula, which made the overall experience feel unnecessarily cold. Customer service and compassion matter, and unfortunately that was missing here.
ADDITION: My appointment was at 12:15 PM. At 11:45 I was finishing a work call while pumping (I am five months postpartum) and trying to leave the house when I realized my car wasn’t there. I then spent time contacting our nanny to see if her keys were available or if taking an Uber would work; she had her keys, and an Uber would have made me late. I called the studio and left a voicemail at 11:52, but Lauren was with another client at the time. At 12:04, I remembered I had Ursula’s phone number and texted her directly to explain the situation.
Between that my husband could see how upset I was and called the studio himself at 11:59. He was able to reach Lauren, who helped reschedule the appointment. Despite this, Ursula informed me via text that the $130 cancellation fee would not be refunded and I received a cancellation text about the appointment my husband had just scheduled for me (super aggressive and very rude).
For additional context, the night before I spoke with Lauren while driving to confirm my appointment. She told me that if I couldn’t immediately access my credit card, that was okay because it sounded like I would be coming in. I insisted on giving my card number over the phone because I fully intended to be there.
This experience left me feeling that policies were prioritized over people. Despite clear communication, genuine effort to reschedule, and context shared in real time, the response lacked the care and flexibility one would expect from a wellness-focused business.
Ultimately, this did not feel like a space centered on healing, understanding, or relaxation, but rather a transactional operation with little room for humanity. That was disappointing, especially given how intentional I was about honoring the appointment and the trust I placed in the studio.
Abbi - we did our best to work with you. I have a cancellation policy similar to many other businesses. We have always been extremely flexible with regard to illness, accidents, and things of that nature. You reached out to us 10 minutes before your massage to cancel, after our cancellation policy was explained to you in full and it is also on our website. I really hope that you found one of many amazing massage studios in Grand Rapids to unwind, relax and reset.

1st time going to Westside; have been looking for a new massage place since moving back to the city this summer.
Physically the set up of the business is really good. Lots of street parking and an Ellis lot close by. Fairly easy to find in the building with good signage and an interactive directory in the lobby. Had some concerns about noise given it is in a large building with other public businesses very close by; but not an issue at all. Treatment room was quiet, peaceful and decorated well; adding to the overall experience in a positive way.
My masseur, London, was fantastic. Asked me lots of questions upfront (but not too many) and checked in a couple times during the 55min; just enough to ensure we were “on track” but not disruptive. Great overall approach and technique; one of the top 3 massages I’ve ever had in all honesty. Will definitely request him next time.
Good value overall, with market standard prices and durations. Able to give gratuity without being asked or pressured to do it.
I feel great. Easy 5 ⭐️’s.
My husband and I had an incredible couples massage with London and Lauren! They truly 'understood the assignment'—both were highly skilled and attentive. I struggle with really bad sciatica, and Lauren knew exactly how to work on it, while London provided much-needed relief for my husband’s back issues. We left feeling amazing and already scheduled our next session in two weeks! 💕
