We hired Green Planet Restoration of Orange County to perform water mitigation services at our home, and from the start, it was a complete disaster. They asked us to sign a blank document without explaining the charges or providing an itemized breakdown of the fees. Despite our repeated requests, we were never provided with a complete accounting of the charges, a copy of the blank document, or an invoice with itemized details. Nor were we given a copy of the document showing what was ultimately added after we signed it. As a result, we were unable to verify the accuracy of the charges.
During the mitigation, a countertop suddenly fell. We later discovered that one of their employees, while working, knocked over the 2x4 support, causing the countertop to fall and break. The falling countertop then caused damage to our tile flooring. Green Planet claims they were not responsible. Despite numerous emails requesting evidence and compensation for the damages, they have remained unresponsive and uncooperative.
We immediately reported this, but months later, we are still waiting for a resolution and for the damages to be repaired. Instead of taking responsibility, they falsely accused us of upgrading our kitchen, using that as an excuse to deny liability.
Additionally, their legal representation continues to make false allegations that the broken granite countertop and damaged tile flooring were caused by the slab water leak. In reality, both the granite and the tile were damaged when their employee knocked over the 2x4 support, causing the countertop to fall.
Furthermore, we have photographs and video evidence showing that the 2x4 supports placed underneath the countertop were inadequately installed and were effectively suspended in the air rather than providing proper support.
Mr. Garcia’s assessment and findings, made approximately one to two weeks after GPR installed the supports for the granite countertop, are as follows:
“On the countertop, I believe that the company who did the EMS, it’s their fault why the countertop broke, as I told your husband. There’s no support on the back of the countertop, only in the front. When I inspected it, I barely touched the 2x4 in the sink area and it fell. I saw that the countertop had already opened up and was at risk of falling. Your husband told me that about a week or two after the setup, he called the EMS company to add more support. The reason why that countertop broke is because they didn’t support the back.”
We also informed them that the temporary supports they installed were inadequate. After we raised these concerns, they came out again to add more support beams. While doing this, another countertop fell. It has now been over five months, and there is still no resolution. The lack of communication and accountability from Green Planet and their legal representation has been appalling.
Despite being listed as BBB-accredited, our experience reflects a lack of professionalism, accountability, and customer care. We have been left dealing with the financial burden and repairs on our own.
Needless to say, we have had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Green Planet Restoration of Orange County.
Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this company. We are deeply disappointed by the way Green Planet and its legal representatives handled this matter, and we hope others do not have to endure the same experience.

Anyone familiar with the restoration industry understands that when water damage affects kitchen cabinets and lower cabinetry must be removed, there is always a risk of damaging an existing countertop during the mitigation process, especially when attempting to preserve it rather than replacing it from the beginning. Here, despite our best efforts to preserve your countertop, we were unable to do so, and a portion of it suffered damage. As soon as the countertop issue occurred, we immediately acknowledged it and communicated that it was part of the mitigation process. The proper procedure in these situations is to document the conditions, provide photographs to the insurance adjuster, and obtain approval for replacement of the countertop as part of the original loss claim if coverage is available. If customers attempt to upgrade countertop materials instead of replacing like for like, that can lead to either a denial by the insurer as to that portion of the claim or a payment by the insurer that is not equal to the full cost of the new countertop installed by the homeowner.
We have concerns regarding several events that occurred during this project, including attempts to hire subcontractors directly outside the agreed project scope and issues involving insurance payments that complicated the resolution process. Horrible experience. The owner Eli left fans running 24/7 and didn’t call back nor come back for 3 weeks resulting in $500 electricity bill. He didn’t even begin to put walls back up, and suddenly demanded he show up to my work asking for entirety of estimated total to be paid at my work. He didn’t finish his work for 3 months. He was so creepy and aggressive, when I told him that I know that him trying to get paid upfront for jobs he hadn’t even begun is against the law, and if he doesn’t stop calling to show up at my job that I would report his license to the board. He only backed off when I threatened to report his crazy behaviour. He also made several racist remarks.in retrospect, I still should have reported him to the license board to prevent next victims. He is so sleezy. He sounds convincing when trying to get the job, and switches immediately once he sets up some of his equipments in the house. Don’t let this guy in. He also treated his contact employees utterly disgustingly.
