Petra & Carlos are absolutely amazing & you could not find better instructors anywhere. They are absolutely world-class & share not only their knowledge but also their love of the ocean. I took a Wave 1 freediving course with them the end of last month & not only finished my certification but also gained a whole new sense of peace+comfort+connection with the ocean that I have not had even as a scuba diver, that I will carry with me always. The skills, knowledge and exercises they shared--and the awesome level of coaching both in the water & out, 100% made all the difference in the world. They're quite simply, the best.

Just completed the Molchanov Wave I course with Carlos Coste at Freediving Explorations and I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed the course. Carlos and his wife, Petra, provided my training and instruction and both of them are extremely professional and knowledgeable and are WONDERFUL teachers of freediving. Their hospitality was so kind and gracious and the instruction they provided was extremely informative. I had never attempted freediving previously, but with their help and gentle guidance I came away from the course feeling much more confident and comfortable in the water.If you are a beginner or a more seasoned diver, I cannot think of two individuals that could have provided more professionalism and competence in their training. Their emphasis on safety was important to me and at no point did I feel that there was any danger with the course. I recommend them 100% and it is my plan to return to LaPaz and complete WAVE II with them as soon as I have the opportunity.

I spent two days with Freediving Explorations and had the time of my life! Petra & Carlos are not only the most professional, skilled and passionate free divers I have ever met but the kindest and most gentle human beings in the free diving community! No matter the level of your skills and experience, they will elevate all of those in no time! Their knowledge of the sport and the Sea of Cortez if beyond impressive! They led the expedition with grace, respect and showed all of us an incredible time! I will definitely be back very soon! I joined the deep training camp organized beginning of October for 1 day only as I was travelling around B.C.S. ! Totally worth it ! I don’t have lot of opportunity to train depth but try every time I get the chance and it s always good to get tips, exercises and explanations from different person! Carlos is by far the best at explaining breathing techniques through simple exercises that helped me be more conscious and prepared to go deeper ! Petra is also really caring, patient and give good at giving feedback to improve each dive. I left with some video of my dive to analyze and advices to improve. Bonus also worth mentioning; on the day I went we had playful sea lions as companions for the whole training; obviously not something you can guarantee every time but it made the experience a bit more special ! Also for all the ones that are used to cold waters free diving is la Paz in October is a blessing with 30degree water temperature !

Entrenar con Carlos y Petra es todo un sueño para mi, he admirado a carlos por muchisimos años y ahora tener la oportunidad de entrenar con él ha sido increible. Antes tuve problemas para entender y avanzar con la ecualizacion y desde que entreno con ellos siento que supere mis propios limites y me han hecho sentir super apoyada. Aparte que todo es super enfocado , todo el tiempo que estamos en el agua estamos bajo supervision coaching y aprendiendo un monton es muy top la atencion y aparte recibes videos de tus entrenamientos para que puedas ver tu mismo en que aspectos mejorar. No podria estar mas feliz con mi Progreso con La ayuda de Carlos y Petra.

What a wonderful moment spent with Petra and Carlos! I did a refresher freediving 1/2 day and could not have asked for a better teacher than Petra: she was attentive, encouraging and fun, helping me connect with the body sensations and adjust my positions. Beyond the exceptional level of professionalism and depth in practice, I really appreciated Petra and Carlos' ethos towards the discipline and Nature. Anyone in La Paz looking for fun freediving or improving their practice & performance should go with them. Thanks for taking care of me Petra, and hoping to freedive together again!

My wife and I took the W1 Molchanov's Freediving course (certification) with Carlos and Petra, plus a few days of marine exploration. The whole experience was amazing. Everything was really well organized and we had lots of fun on top of learning new skills and discovering marine life in the Sea of Cortez. 100% recommended.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had an absolutely amazing experience with Freediving Explorations at Deep Camp in October 2024! Training with the legendary Carlos Coste and master instructor Petra Oberucova was truly a privilege. I learned more than I ever imagined, from solid fundamentals to advanced techniques that have helped me dive deeper and feel more relaxed on the line. Carlos and Petra created such a welcoming and safe environment. I always felt completely supported and secure, both in and out of the water. Each day began with morning yoga and stretching, followed by line training sessions in the beautiful Sea of Cortez. We also had the chance to enjoy some fun dives and swim with sea lions at Isla Espíritu Santo, which made the experience even more unforgettable. It was an incredible journey, and I’m already counting down the days until I can return this October. If you’re passionate about freediving, this is the place to be!

I just returned from the Mobula Rays Exploration and Freedive Training trip with Freedive Explorations. I cannot recommend this company enough!! Mornings were spent exploring the Sea of Cortez and experiencing the incredible aggregation of Mobulas, which is the largest in the world. Petra and Carlos’ expertise was unmatched in guiding us and teaching us about the rich and diverse undersea world! Afternoons were spent freedive training with the expert coaching of Carlos and Petra. These professional and record holding freedivers and instructors coached all levels with expertise and patience. They created a safe and supportive space to explore diving on the line and push ourselves to advance in depth and technique with them by our side the whole way. Communication with Petra prior to the trip made travel to La Paz fairly stress free. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Freediving Explorations for an underwater adventure or freedive training!

I just got back from an amazing mobula expedition with Carlos and Petra. Everything was perfect - we saw incredible wildlife (whales, hundreds of mobula rays, dolphins) and they were both excellent freediving coaches as well - very patient, encouraging and knowledgable! We were extremely well looked after the whole trip, from the food to the lovely accommodation. On top of that, they are both just awesome people to hang out with :) Thank you so much Carlos and Petra, already thinking about my next trip! ❤️

Seeing in 3 days houndreds of mobulas, three types od whales, dolphines and many others in combination with chance to train freediving with of the best freedivers on planet and former world Champion Carlos Coste is something that every freediver wish for....
