I love DermMedica, Charlene and the team are great! I had 2 CoolSculpting treatments done; one on my abdomen and one on my chin and I'm really impressed at the results! I was really self-conscious of my mummy tummy after having 2 kids and the CoolSculpting really shrunk my tummy so that clothes fit better and my stomach appears flatter. After struggling with this trouble area for years despite how much I worked out, it's been exciting to see how well it works!
The staff are really kind and accommodating.
I had gotten laser twice. One time it didnt show any difference so I was given another treatment on them, which I found nice. Although travelling from another province, it was pricey.
In the end, their services were decent, treatment could have been done again or more precise because its not totally satisfactory. But again its fine and the team there is very professional. Good experience.
Jennifer is amazing! Very knowledgeable and knows exactly how to make you feel comfortable. I went in not knowing what to expect and she guided me through the process helping me know how much Botox I needed and was very precise with how long it would last! I will never change where I get this done and will be a customer for life. Highly recommend. She is the best!
I always said I would never do anything to my face like Botox! BUT, one day I woke up and realized the line in between my eye brows was really starting to deepen and making my RBF look like I’m mad all day, everyday. Shocking experience — multiple red flags I regret ignoring
I rarely write reviews, but my experience at this clinic was so upsetting that I feel obligated to warn others.
I’m 52 years old and very familiar with laser treatments, Botox, and high-quality skincare. I take good care of my skin and regularly see experienced providers. I booked this clinic because I have an important event coming up in March where I’ll be seeing friends and family I haven’t seen in over 10 years. My goal was very clear: a full face and neck laser treatment about a month in advance to address some sun spots on my cheeks, improve skin tightening, and get an overall healthy glow.
Looking back, the consultation should have been my first red flag. I spent about 30 minutes with a woman who collected my information but offered little guidance or insight. Dr. Crippen briefly popped in for what felt like a rushed, unfriendly 10-minute interaction and then left. I was immediately ushered into another room for Botox.
The Botox experience was very different from what I’m accustomed to. I’m used to skilled injectors who assess my face and tailor the treatment for optimal, individualized results. Instead, Dr. Crippen appeared impatient and administered what felt like a standard, one-size-fits-all approach. I was charged just under $800 (I typically pay around $500 for much better results). My brows dropped significantly, and the skin around my eyes is now wrinkled and heavy — the opposite of what Botox should do. The results were poor, and his bedside manner was worse.
At that point, I should have cut my losses.
I had another appointment scheduled for laser treatment that was supposed to include my face, neck, and chest. Once again, my concerns and priorities were ignored. Dr. Crippen entered the room and announced he was going to treat redness on my chest — something I really didn't care about, but that he kept saying was "Easier" . He kept insisting on this despite me clearly stating (multiple times) that my priority was my face and neck, specifically new brown sun spots, due to my upcoming event.
This was very clear communication.
Despite that, he proceeded anyway. Without any topical numbing, without oral pain medication, he began lasering spots on my face — not a full-face treatment. I’ve never had just spots treated before, I've always had my full face done and it was painful and alarming. I immediately realized that not only was I not getting the treatment I requested, but my face was now being burned, meaning I wouldn’t be able to go elsewhere for the proper treatment while healing.
I was extremely uncomfortable and knew there was no chance I was going to allow him to laser my chest or arms — again, with no numbing — for something I never wanted treated.
After about five minutes, he stopped. When the nurse asked if I wanted to remove my glasses, I asked, “Are you done with my face?” They said yes. I again explained that I was scheduled for a full face and neck treatment.
Dr. Crippen’s response was shocking. He said, “You’ve never had a doctor like me,” and then labeled me as “aggressive” for stopping the session. I turned to the nurse and asked if I was being aggressive for advocating for myself — she said nothing. Apparently, a woman clearly expressing her boundaries and concerns is considered aggressive, but burning someone’s face without listening is not.
He refused to listen, dismissed me entirely, and showed no interest in hearing a new patient’s valid concerns — even though I was calm, clear, and articulate throughout.
For the record, I usually go to MDesthetics and see Dr. Banks on the Island. So when Dr. Crippen says I’ve never had a doctor like him, he’s correct. I’m used to skilled, respectful providers who run professional clinics, listen to their patients, and treat them with kindness.
This experience left me shaken, disappointed, and physically unhappy with the results. I would strongly caution anyone considering this clinic.

The entire team is knowledgeable, welcoming, and makes the experience feel both professional and comfortable every single visit. I never feel rushed, and the results always look natural and refreshed, exactly what I’m hoping for.
If you’re looking for a clinic that prioritizes precision, trust, and long-term skin health, DermMedica is unmatched. I couldn’t recommend Dr. Crippen and the whole team more.
Very disappointed in vbeam laser. treatment. Zero home care or post treatment reccemendation. Which lead to a bad infection..called to ask how to treat and what to do. No call back. Will NOT be returning. I am now left with a scabbing infected face (8 days after tx) Super scared how this will heal 😔
I must admit I thought about getting a procedure done 10 years ago and I didn’t have the courage to walk into a clinic. I worried that they would tell me something else needed improvements with me.
The opposite occurred at DermMedica in Kelowna.
Charlene was excellent from my initial consult, listening to my questions, explaining my options, and I felt supported and never judged or evaluated. To anyone else out there who didn’t have the courage like me - walk in and inquire. Now that I’m on the other side of it, I’m happy with the results, especially since it’s how I look and feel - it’s not about anyone else.
I VBeem, Dermapeel and Cool sculpting my chin. I am happy with all three of my treatments and results are better than I imagined. I received compliments on my peel treatment and im only in week two of this with more healing to be had which im excited for more results. Every staff member is so kind, friendly. I had the DermaPeel (fractional C02) laser resurfacing done at DermMedica in Kelowna and had a great experience. The team was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the procedure and recovery in detail, which made me feel very comfortable. The clinic is modern and welcoming, and the staff were kind and attentive throughout the entire process. I’m very happy with my results so far and would highly recommend DermMedica to anyone considering laser treatments.
In October 2025 I went for a consultation about Cool Sculpting Elite. I meet with Charlene who is very knowledgeable about the whole process. Charlene went through the process step by step explained everything. I was never pressured into having Cool Sculpting done.
