It’s a great place for intermediate, advanced, and expert skiers. It’s got moderate slopes for charging hard and steeps, moguls, jumps, and chutes.
A gem in SLC.. skiing only and has some of the most beautiful views and slopes to ski
We love Alta - good snow, good diversity of terrain, skiers only. Even on this lower snow year, the mountain is still delivering! Can't wait until next year.
It was great before it got loved to death. You can make it better by not going there.
I love you, Alta. You've quickly become my favorite place to ski in the Cottonwoods.
Conditions were fun today 4.7.26
I'm generally a big fan of Alta. That said, they are starting to have safety issues because of "bro culture". Too many young men are going too fast and skiing unnecessarily close to other skiers. Occasionally, they'll pass close and turn in front, in some sort of obnoxious show. It's lame and Alta is one of the only areas in the country that doesn't have any signage or reminders to give people space. The problem has gotten much worse here in just the last two years. Alta management and ski patrol really needs to address this before things get even worse. The issue is particularly obvious on the Collins side. I'd also suggest they consider adding the small triangular footrests to the lift bars, it would be really appreciated by everyone over 40.
Great snow and terrain
Wowza! No crazy crowds, What spring season?? Alta snow was spot on, all lifts and most every run was open, gorgeous terrain and fabulous weather!!! It's been a long time favorite and we have avoided it due to the one lane traffic on the cannon to get there. Yesterday, the April skiing was the best I have seen and we will return. Skiers only. 3 parking areas, requiring reservations, even for ADA needed. The IKON HONK parking app can be wonky to use, so put your patience hat on. End of season sales are also a plus.
