I was happy to learn of a more eco friendly solution for end of life services and that I chose Compassionate Care to handle my ESA pet’s aquamation. His disease blindsided me and I struggled quite a bit in the early days. So much support and help came through during this difficult time and CCA was one of them. Within 4 hours of his passing, the undertaker arrived and a little over two weeks later, I got my baby back. Thank you so much. I love you forever Cow and I miss you my sweet boy.

Very well done, and cared for our loss. Our family was able to get bracelets and necklaces with some of our dogs remains in them which is a great touch.

I’m always hesitant to leave a less than stellar review on a small business, but felt obligated to share our experience. We used a partnering business called Paws At Peace who came to our house to help say goodbye to my sweet 19-year old cat Jesse. Although tragic and sad, that experience was fine and the nurse was lovely and compassionate.
They cremate through Compassionate Care, where I elected for a pick up of Jesse’s remains as NYC delivery options are risky and unpredictable. I received a personalized text that Jesse’s ashes were ready to be picked up, and scheduled Friday morning. I took the day off and made the 60-minute drive to pick up the ashes, and when I arrived, they didn’t know who I was. They were looking in drawers, entering and exiting doors…it felt like bizarro world. Eventually, they somehow discovered that his ashes had been sent to Ivy Pets, a place I’ve never heard of, was never mentioned to me, and which was in Midwood a town about an hour away, plus another hour away from my home.
The folks at Compassionate Care were nice enough, although casual, as if I hadn’t just prepared myself to pick up my dead cat’s ashes on an hour drive to be told they were elsewhere. While waiting for them to explain what was going on, I asked to speak with the woman who texted me the pick-up instructions and was told she no longer worked there. On my way out a supervisor offered me a necklace that you can put ash in, which I appreciated the gesture.
An hour later when I made it to Ivy Pets, they did in fact have my cat’s ashes, although they misspelled his name on the engraving, which I physically typed during the registration so that could have/should have been verified. I’ve pulled the tab off as it was adhesive, so nothing irreversible, but it did feel a bit insulting after the ordeal as a whole.
The most important thing is that Jesse’s ashes are safe and home with us, but for $860 I expected more Compassion and Care.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Jim, Alan and I’m sorry I did not get the woman’s name, are all wonderful people. Very understanding, soft spoken, kind individuals, who have a true love for animals and caring for them through this process. This isn’t just your normal cremation place, they are much better and caring with your loved ones. I saw a video of Aquamation being done and it is very peaceful and less harmful to your pet. Overall, from the customer service to the process of Aquamation, Compassion is the best of the best!

I took my beloved Johnny of 17 years here to this wonderful place after he crossed over the rainbow bridge & they made his transition into the afterlife exactly how i imagined. Peaceful and painless . I was welcomed with open arms and kind eyes the second I entered the room. I knew this was the right place. Not only that but they are a eco friendly & sustainable facility and as an environmentalist I couldn’t be more pleased and impressed with the Aquamation process. It was some thing I was relatively unfamiliar with, but was eased with knowledge and thorough explanation when asked. Thank you so much to Alan and Jim for your empathy and condolences during this difficult time. You both have made the grief process for my family and so effortless and serene. I am eternally grateful

Compassionate Care was recommended through Paws at Peace and I couldn't have made a better choice myself. Thank you to Jim for letting me cry and share my story when picking up my sweet boy Bruno. It takes special people to deal with pet parents who have lost their most precious gifts. Thank you!

I recently lost my beloved 18-year-old cat Poopy, short for Poopy Paws, whom I affectionately named when I was just six and he was 7 weeks old. It was an extremely difficult and stressful time as my family had constant back and forth with our vet over his declining health. The team at Compassionate Care Pet Aquamation was incredibly respectful, professional, empathetic, patient, and kind.
They were extremely helpful and adapted quickly to some unforeseen circumstances . They made a stressful and heartbreaking process as easy as it could get, and I truly appreciate everything they did for my family and for my beautiful cat.

I cannot express enough how amazing and caring Alan was. Losing my sweet dog, Boy, who was 16 years old, was incredibly difficult, but Alan's sincerity and empathy made the process more bearable. He took the time to thoroughly explain the aquamation process, ensuring I understood every step and felt comfortable with the decision.
Alan's genuine concern and kindness were present throughout, making me feel supported during such a tough time. I appreciate how environmentally friendly the aquamation process is. Knowing that Boy's remains will be used as a fertilizer, allowing him to live on and contribute to new life, brings me a great sense of peace. Thank you, Alan, for your exceptional care and for helping me honor Boy in such a meaningful way!

Nobody ever wants to have to search for a pet crematorium. But if you're in the place where you have to find one, these folks are exceptionally kind, caring, and empathetic.

We had to put my 15 year old yorkie to sleep and the place that came for euthanasia told us they we’re going to leave his body in the car and then put him in a chest freezer at the vets house for 5 days awaiting pick up. My mother and I panicked and I had looked up this company and called them. Alan was so calm and kind and told me to come and bring gizmo and take my time, that they would be there when I got there. We got to the Oceanside location and he took us on a tour and explained the entire process. This process is extremely fascinating and gave us so much peace knowing gizmo was going to be well cared for. We received an ink paw print, clay paw print, ashes and a bottle of fertilizer from his remains - extremely fascinating. We felt so confident knowing gizmo was tagged, and well cared for. They brought us so much peace and made the process so calming. I would recommend Alan and his team for any unfortunate experience in losing a pet. Thank you guys for turning a horrible experience into such a peaceful one. I recommend this company over and over and over.

I can only say how lucky we are to have found Compassionate Care Pet Aquamation when we had to say goodbye to our sweet boy Jjang. From the moment Jim picked up the phone, to the very end when we picked our boys ashes up, Compassionate Care and Jim showed so much empathy - that made the process a lot easier. Saying goodbye to your beloved family member is one of the hardest things to do - so making that any easier is an extremely difficult job. However, because of the care shown by Compassionate Care, we felt some peace. Unlike other options available, you get to see the place, learn about the process, and meet the people who will be taking care of your loved ones final journey. Hearing my dad say he felt better made it all worth it. I can't recommend Compassionate Care enough, thank you guys - especially Jim for being so caring.

Just picked up my dogs ashes. Was a bit annoyed to see the prints that I paid for had their company name all over it. Comes off as tacky and cold. Hopefully in the future they decide to opt away from this.
Update: the owner Allen called me quick after this review. I wasn’t able to answer because I’m currently in the midst of taking finals. However he seems to only care about money since he didn’t acknowledge the tackiness of it all and decided to double down by saying others have been grateful he puts his logo/name of their company everywhere. Then also proceeded to ask me to change my review to five stars or no review. The sticker near the paw and nose print could’ve easily went on the backside of the card. His resolution to this was to slap another sticker on with just my dogs name on it this time, however the sticker also clearly looks like it came from a cheap label printer. So I’ll respectfully decline. I rather buy something more thoughtful than that to put over it.
What I didn’t mention in the first review as well is that the wood box given for my dog had spots of discoloration, as if there had been water or some type of liquid that had stained circles all over the wood. I understand wood will have variations on it and all wooden items won’t be the same but it seemed sloppy. Originally I didn’t care because i just also planned on getting him a better Urn since I didn’t really care for their options. But this should be noted as not everyone has the ability to do that, especially when the passing happens suddenly.
I also shared this with my igp dog group members and they were more angry than me, however I understand this business is also someone’s livelihood which is why I left 3 stars originally.
So I will also be buying him a new urn through a different company. Saddened though, as I did like the idea of “aquamation”
Just to provide some honest feedback, I came in to meet her on a Thursday evening at 8:47 pm on May 2nd. (We timestamp everything!) She lives in Farmingville NY which is approximately an hour away with light traffic, and the family didn't want to leave their pet overnight at home, so I came back to the office to accommodate her, something most businesses would not have done. We always try to go the extra mile for our clients, especially when they need our help. In fact she asked us to create an ink nose print for her, which is extremely hard to do and it took our team several attempts until we had one right to provide to her.
She never once complained about our service, she gave us a one-star review because of our branding and packaging and the fact that I reached out to her to correct something she didn't like. I wish Jessica the best and hope she achieves both success and happiness moving forward.

Losing a pet is the worst feeling in the world and the last thing you want to do is price out cremation services. Alan was absolutely amazing in helping us make our decision to use aquamation. He was caring and considerate. They picked up our dog from the vet and he was ready for pick up within days. The urn is beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for a better stress free experience.

Our best girl, Scarlett, was suffering from DM for over year and we made the awful decision to plan for her peaceful passing. I called around for services and found Compassionate Care Pet Aquamation and I knew immediately I wanted to go with them. It was such an awful day calling around, planning for my dog’s death and CCPA were the kindest people I talked to all day.
We ended up going through Paws at Peace bc I saw they worked directly with Compassionate Care. Alan and his team were so wonderful and incredibly caring every time I would call. It made us feel at ease she was cared for until the very end and we would get her back safe and sound with us. When we picked her up, Alan spoke with us about his own experiences with loss and how the aquamation process worked. It was just the best experience and we’re just so happy our girl is back with us again. Thank you so much for everything.

I can’t speak highly enough about Allen and how he comforted us during a difficult time this past December. Our sweet baby wasn’t sick, but went peacefully in her sleep mid Dec at home at 13 years old. That day in sunday at 8pm while googling cremation places to contact directly vs bringing her to a Vet that sends her out to a cremation company, we discovered Allen’s company and first heard about Aquamation. We planned on leaving him a message at 8pm that Sunday evening. Not only did he answer his work phone, but he spoke with us for 20 mins being so caring. We visited him the next morning with our passed dog wrapped in her favorite Hello Kitty blanket. We had a great meeting with him that morning, and from the moment we met him to the time we picked up her beautiful box with her Snow White ashes we have on display (as well as plant nutrients we plan to use when we plant a beautiful bush this Spring), we had a great experience. I have since told everyone about Aquamation, and Allen. May he make your sad day a better one too. Thank you Allen.
