I had booked Boda to celebrate a special milestone with one of my besties. We were both looking forward to trying out Boda for their restaurant month deal and had high hopes after seeing recent reviews. After tonights meal, its highly likely we wouldn't return. We arrived for our set time, after a wee wait we were seated and asked about which water we wanted. We ended up getting still water (which we found was $11 at payment) and unfortunately that was about as much table service as we got as she showed us the unopen bottle poured us 2 glasses and left. It felt like we had to constantly look around for staff or ask for someone to take our order or clear our table. We could see other tables being tended to, having their water refilled (we ended up topping our own water up) or tables cleared but felt like we had noone looking after us - which really dampened the mood. It also meant there were long waits in between as we had to follow up with getting our stuff cleared.
While I understand it was a really busy night - A friend who arrived after us and had the restaurant month deal had better service. They were looked after so they had all their courses, got the table cleared and water refilled and left before us. Our desserts also arrived with one spoon which felt like the icing on the cake. When it came time for paying I was waiting for the front desk guy to ask how our meal and night was; so I could give this feedback and we got nothing. No smile or question about our experience, just how we wanted to pay. We ended up celebrating our milestone with drinks around the corner and had much better service there.
While I would recommend the Restaurant month deal at Boda cause its great value for what you get. Boda missed the mark this time for us in terms of service.
We have a nice dinner at BODA last night.
Jenny Supervisor assisted our table.
Friendly , snail and professional.
We enjoyed food, champagne and a lot of cocktails.
Many thanks
See you soon

Fantastic lunch with family, thanks to Boda’s delicious food, beautiful ambiance and stunning views! The kimchi mac&cheese was unexpected, the pork belly was so moist and tender reminiscent of the pork used in bossam but even better, the humble cabbage seared to perfection and drizzled with the most delicious dressing was the winner for me. It cane a wee but late but it’s worth the wait! Highly suggest this spot when you’re in town.
Awesome dining experience today we came for the Auckland restaurant month and food was superb - Bryan greeted us and gave sublime service plus a lovely table with view and the other staff were also so attentive to our comfort and needs. Compliments to the chefs the food was incredible we will be back well done team you should be very proud of your food, service and customer experience! Highly recommend
What a beautiful dinner experience! The view was absolutely amazing, and the restaurant was spotless and very well maintained.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented — you could really see the care that went into every dish. Everything looked as good as it tasted.
Great atmosphere, great food, beautiful views and excellent presentation. Definitely a place I would happily come back to. 👌🍽️❤️
We were there for our girl's birthday, as she wanted to experience some fine dining. First of all, the atmosphere of the restaurant was very cosy, comfortable and welcoming. The waiter who looked after us was very kind and we felt that we were really looked after. Everyone recognised our girl for her birthday, making her feel special. We enjoyed all the food we ordered. My kids are still talking about a few dishes like prawn toast, the salmon and the lamb.
A bit underwhelmed, and I was so looking forward to it . We did the $49 set menu - the sliders were nice enough, we had the risotto ( which was undercooked) and credit to the kitchen they sent out a dessert which was magnificent performance wise but taste wise, it was just okay. We all went and had McDonald’s after we weren’t full from the meal. The waiter we had was fantastic (Matthew), attention to detail and checking in . Some final comments was the changing of glassware - mocktails were in a tall glass than a short glass, it was cold in the restaurant ( had to wear my jacket). I won’t be rushing back, it had potential but fell short for me.
I had a strange feeling after visiting a restaurant that was marked with a mixed review. Nothing special... The oysters were ordinary, without any special features from the chef. The lamb was so cold, although it was a hot dish, and the plate was warm, but not the meat... It was disgusting to eat. Zero impressions. The view from the restaurant is nice, but not wow.
Come on! Just look at the view from the Boda, it definitely worth every penny you pay for.
My first impression when I studied the menu this is an Asian (particularly Korean) inspired fusion restaurant. Honestly I wasn't expecting anything different from what I can find in Ponsonby or somewhere else.
Until I got my first bite of the "pancake", OMG, literally, I couldn't even tell the stuffing is actually duck. This is so yummy totally beyond my expectations!
Please you must eat the pork skewers with the Perilla, delicious 😋
Now I see, Boda is actually when East meets West, Korean is the touch of it.
100% will return to discover more, no doubt it is a Bib Gourmand restaurant, highly recommended.
