Disappointed with this visit. Servers were awkward and the curries were average at best. My madras was not as spicy as it should have been and was more like a soup than a sauce... seems to have been watered down! Naan bread and tapas starter for two was pretty good however. Probably won't be back.
Poor standard of food and service
I have previously ate in Bengal and had nothing but good experiences, unfortunately today was not the same. I booked in with my wife and baby for a lunch. I ordered the king prawn jalfrezi and it tasted like water no spice and just bland. My wife ordered the korma it was better but again not the usual standard. We complained about the meal to the waiter and his response was it should be hot. No apology. We were enjoying a cobra and he brought our bill down. We did not ask for the bill as we planned to have cocktails. I told another waiter we did not request the bill and he said we close at 2pm. Not once we're we told of the early closing otherwise we would not have booked the table. I complained about the service and he offered us a shot to go. This is the worst experience I have had in an Indian restaurant. I'm not one to complain on trip advisor but unfortunately this is the only way to provide feedback.
One of the best Indian restaurants in the City
I’ve visited this Indian restaurant many times now, both dining in and ordering takeaway, and it consistently surpasses my expectations. The quality of the food is outstanding every single time — whether it’s served fresh in the restaurant or packed up to enjoy at home. The flavours are rich, authentic, and clearly prepared with care. One of my absolute favourite starters is the Chicken Tikka served with their in-house mild hot sauce. It’s perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and the sauce complements it beautifully. For the main course, their Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi is a standout dish — packed with bold spices, tender chicken, and a great balance of heat and flavour. What really makes this place special, though, is the service. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely happy to help. As a regular customer, they always make me feel valued, and it’s a lovely touch that they often offer me a drink while I wait for my takeaway order. It’s rare to find a restaurant that delivers such consistent quality across both dine-in and takeaway. Great food, fantastic service, and a warm atmosphere every time — I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for excellent Indian cuisine.
I can only comment from the one and only time I visited with my daughter after an appointment one evening a few years ago....the place was quiet and looked as if it was closing but it was open time wise( still over an hour till closing) and they took our order....we were dining in. We ordered 2 vegetarian Biryani. After 2 or 3 mouthfuls we just agreed in disgust it was inedible . Both couldn't be wrong!. It was as if someone had emptied 50 times the salt to the dish it should have had as it was just purely laced with it. We were nearly sick. We reported it and they halved the bill. Just unacceptable. No apology. Honestly? I think they wanted us to go . They didn't taste the dish to confirm what we were saying. An awful experience both with the food and the staff involved who just shrugged. Honestly don't know where the 5 stars come from.
Came here on a Monday evening for dinner and absolutely loved it! The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The place is clean with classy decor and a relaxing ambience. Customer service was nothing short of fantastic and a big shout-out to staff member Khalid for making our evening one to remember. Highly recommend!
Terrible atmosphere
Went for a meal with my daughter, food was lovely but atmosphere was terrible. Staff shouting at each other throughout, especially to younger staff (would not have my children working here) Couldn’t get you out quick enough. Was offered dessert and said no thanks but had a full drink in front of me and was asked could I be given the bill by manager. Felt very uncomfortable and like we were a burden and not pay customers so left shortly after. Very disappointing as food was actually lovely,

First time visiting Bengal for dinner, would highly recommend it. The service was quick and the food was absolutely amazing - Khalid made us the best cocktails which were 2 for 3 which is a bargain. The vibe in the restaurant was great too, friendly atmosphere.
