DO NOT USE! Horrendous. Echoing what others have said (my bad for not looking at Yelp beforehand), they quoted a $175 deposit by CC, which would apply against work actually done. The guy did come out, said we needed additional parts and a cleaning (correct), and that he would provide a quote, order the part on approval, and come back to finish the work. 2+ weeks and no quote, no return, and with 2 follow-up calls I was assured there would be no charge until completion. Sure enough, they charged my CC for the full $175 and never got back to me once. Naturally I disputed and killed the charge with the CC company (I let them keep $1), and will be reporting them to the BBB.
I set up an appointment with them 1 month in advance, then they cancelled 3 times, then they finally came out 06/12/23 the repairman said they will get me an estimate within a week, on the 19th I called & left a message, on the 20th I sent a txt & Flora txt back she was on the way to the office & will follow up, on the 22nd they charged me the $175.00 & I am still waiting to hear back from them on a cost to repair my BBQ. I do not recommend using them as you can see by my experience.

has this been resolved?
What a rip off. Quoted me $175 for a service call to diagnose (even though I knew what I needed). The $175 would be applied to job if I accepted it. They took a credit card (to hold) and I told them that I would be using a different payment method. They came out for less than 30 minutes and said they would send a quote. I had to follow up to get a quote and before they sent it, they charged my card without authorization. Then they sent me a quote with unbelievably high prices. I can only guess that they didn't want the job and were in it for the $175 or were hoping some dupe would accept it.I sent them the following cost for a couple of the parts on Amazon and questioned the $500 labor. Then they stopped returning calls or emails and hung up on me. $75 for a knob? Please, I thought $25 was a lot when I found it on Amazon. I emailed them and told them if they simply provided me the OEM part numbers, I would eat my $175 lesson. But they would not respond. Look at their mark up on parts and what they were going to charge for labor.PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THIS ESTIMATE FOR YOUR FIRE MAGIC GRILL AND LET US KNOW HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO PROCEED.PARTSVALVE- $169 $100 mark up (See picture)SPARK IGNITER-$115 Found for $50ROTARY IGNITER-$139 Found for $80KNOB-$75 300% mark up (See picture)FLAME TAMER-$180 I bought my last one for $70 and just dropped it in.LABOR W/ CLEANING-$500 The guy that came out said it would be 1-2 hoursTotal was going to be over $1,200I'm doing it myself. What a waste of time and money. Terrible customer service and felt like a bait and switch. I warned Gennady (the owner) in my second email that bad reviews would be coming. Never got a call or email back so here we are.
This business is a scam! They came out to do an estimate to repair my Fire Magic Grill. They charged $175 to diagnose the problem and then told me they would send the cost to repair minus the $175. But, they never get back to you. When you call, no one answers...you can leave a message, but it won't get returned. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. They need to be put out of business ASAP...do not do business with this company...you will lose your money.
They also go by the name, Major Home Appliance in Valley Village (LA). DON'T USE!!!I had them replace a switch on my Fire Magic Grill. I paid for the switch in advance for their order (OK) and agreed to a $150 service call to install. The tech does the work in about 30 minutes or less. No bill, says they will invoice me. No invoice ever appears and then a charge on my credit card for another $450. I call and they stall and stall about what the charges are for. No one calls back after emails and texts and calls left unanswered. Finally when I say I am having my credit card reverse the charge they agree to refund the part charge.NEVER AGAIN will I use these people and you shouldn't either.
Four months ago, I called BBQ Repair Doctor in the Los Angeles area. They came out and showed me what to do to get my Nexgrill working. No parts were needed, and they did a great jobs. Recently, my grill had problems, so I called them. I left a number of messages, none of which were returned. This morning, I called and the phone number was disconnected. If they were still in business, I would use them. However, it looks like they are out of business.
Worthless.
They did not have a resource staffed to fix BBQ's of any brand. Revised given this business response. I needed help with converting my outside Bull BBQ island from gas to propane. The individual I spoke with at this Danville location said they did not have a resource who handles anything BBQ mechanics related. This is a valid review. Keith

We don’t have a record of ever servicing you. We service all brands. This is not a valid review.
LA location unreliable and indifferent. I made an appointment with the Los Angeles location two weeks earlier but I did not receive a call the day before the appointment as they indicated they would to narrow down the window of time the technician would arrive. So I called the day of the appointment to find out, only to be told they had one digit in my phone number wrong so they canceled my appointment they day before. I asked to reschedule for the next day and the lady on the phone said it would have to be another 10 days out. (their fault, but basically too bad). While irritated at the indifference and the lack of service recovery I asked for some form of discount for having to wait so long again, to which they granted... five dollars off. They were unwilling to reschedule in a reasonable time frame for their mistake and the five dollars off was pretty much a middle finger clearly. I discontinued the call immediatly
One Year ago I called BBQ Repair doctor to fix my lynx grill. They came out and cleaned the grill and told me that they needed to order a part, which I approved. Called a couple of times and they didn't have the right part. It was the cable to the light so I just didn't worry about not having a light. They also didn't complete all the repairs. I just thought I would let it go. They called me this year and said it was time for my annual cleaning and I told them that they hadn't finished the repairs from the previous year which they said they could complete. They came out and I explained the problems both to the receptionist and to the repair person and he said he would fix the problem. Well, he did fix the light but not all the problems. In fact I asked why the ignition didn't work and he said the battery was dead so I changed the battery and he told me I needed a new motor which I approved him to purchase and bill. When he next came out I tried the motor and it only worked on one speed, the ignition didn't and thereafter tried calling a number of time, probably at least 10 and tried to speak to the supervisor, She was never there, or had an emergency or was on another line. The grill does not function as it should, have to use a starter to light. They didn't complete the work, charged me for parts that were never installed or worked and wouldn't send out someone to fix there terrible repair job if they ever repaired the problems. I would never recommend them, they can't get the job done, the repairman doesn't know what he does, they don't return phone calls and if they think that they are doing anyone a service they are living in a fantasy world. Their work stinks, don't do what they promise to do, the new part, wasn't a new part and doesn't work. I would never recommend them for any service, to fix anything. When I asked if they could send another repairman they said only one does work on Lynx BBQ'S. No response from Flora their manager, no response to an email all you ever talk to is a sweet receptionist who sounds very nice and just puts you off and says someone will get back to you but they never do. They do one thing well and that is to charge your credit card and that is very quickly done.

I sent an email to BBQ Repair Doctor over the holiday weekend and by 9:15 this morning I had a call back from Flora the owner. She was very helpful, but unfortunately I live outside their service area. That didn't stop her from spending time with me on the phone and offering suggestions on the best course of action to repair or replace my grill. If their repair services are half as good as their customer service I'd recommend them highly.
BBQ Repair Doctor came out immediately and explained everything that was/needed to be done to my BBQ in a way that I could easily understand. They even cleaned it and it looks and works amazingly! The cost was not bad and I could honestly not be happier! Thanks guys!
