Over the years, I’ve lived in several places around the world and have visited many dental practices along the way. Here in Hong Kong alone, I’ve tried three different clinics. Based on that experience, I can say with complete confidence that my dental hygienist appointments with Lorrie Joy have been exceptional.
Having previously dealt with pain and discomfort at other practices, I was understandably nervous before my first visit with Lorrie. But that changed immediately. She is gentle, thorough, reassuring, and incredibly skilled. I now genuinely look forward to my appointments - something I never thought I’d say about dental hygiene.
I cannot recommend her highly enough. She is an absolute credit to her profession. She is not my dental hygienist but rather my 'dental wellness provider' of choice!

I had been silently ignoring a toothache for 2 weeks. The pain finally got too bad and I had to contact Bayside Dental as my regular dentist was closed for CNY. Bayside found a slot for me immediately and Dr Safar did my initial consult with tests & X-rays. He laid out all the possible scenarios for my toothache. He was thorough and factual, there was no hard sell at any point. He told me to go home and digest all the information he had given me and to monitor the pain level. I was back the following day as there was no way to continue pretending there wasn’t a problem.
Well, Dr Safar has just done a root canal on my tooth and all I can say is, everyone just leave your current dentists and move to Bayside Dental. I have a deeply embedded fear of dentists from childhood and have had one other root canal previously at another clinic and all it did was further strengthen my fear of dentists.
I was a complete wuss but Dr Safar and the nurses were so patient and explained every step and sound. I cannot thank Dr Safar and his team, everyone from his nurses to front of house, enough for getting me through this. Thank you…
