Poor service especially from the bar. They messed up our drink orders several times during our stay.
One of the nicest steaks I've ever had. Great service. Very busy yet very attentive.

We came in at 5:30 pm and it was happy hour! 30% off all food and drinks! The prices for the food and drinks were already reasonable for a hotel restaurant, so 30% was a great deal! (4-6pm) We got two cocktails, the chicken burger, and fish & chips (not pictured as we inhaled them).
Both cocktails were great, though the margarita was a touch spicy for my partner's taste (I thought it was fine). The fish & chips and chicken sandwich were pretty standard, but that's fine because it's exactly what we were expecting.
We put in beer orders right before the happy hour cut off. One of the beers bottomed out mid pour. They let us have what was poured and promised a fresh pint, though due to technical difficulties, it never came, but they offered us a replacement. So we technically netted ~1/2 a beer for free.
Overall the staff was very friendly, the food and drinks were good, and I'd definitely recommend visiting for happy hour!

I had the fish dish - we are fishermen so fresh fish is a must and I am constantly disappointed when I order fish - I am fussy and chase rewarded chefs world wide so when I say this was one of the best fish dishes I have ever had I am not saying that lightly - it was gurnard with crispy skin and perfectly cooked - the flavours in the sauce were next level - I will be having this dish every night for the whole stay!

had dinner with some friends a couple of days ago.
The food portions were pathetically small and way overpriced.
The desserts were terrible (I don't know if they were made by chef or bought from a supplier and simply plated.) and with that kind of quality, I couldn't believe it cost $24.
I definitely won't recommend either the food or the restaurant.

A Little context, Mega Foodie, super excited about Michelin coming to New Zealand, on a trip with my Boy in Rotorua and googled one of the best restaurants around here. Felt like a steak, and with the pricing at this restaurant I assumed (My downfall) That this would be a great place, good website, tried to book online was full, rang them and managed to get a table. Arrived and sat down, one other table there, didn’t get seen for about 10 minutes, no water no drinks etc. Bartender finally arrived asking for drinks and food all at once like a breakfast cafe. Got our drinks, ordered green muscles white wine sauce, super plain unimaginative, pretty boring to be honest. No garnish, nothing. We both ordered $65 scotch fillets expecting once again (my downfall) top quality steak. Mine was overcooked so I sent it back, which is okay, and was dealt with pretty well, but again each dish comes with a sauce, literally 1 tablespoon portion, ordered brussels sprouts as a side dish, no seasoning and pretty inedible.
Overall pretty underwhelming for the price you would expect top notch service and cooking. And the bread served was shite, thin white basic. No sour dough. No flavour.
Do not recommend as it felt like a pretty basic hotel restaurant at world class prices. Thank God I didn’t choose the $199 steak to share.
We would definitely be back. We got the steak tartar, fish tartar and lamb ribs for starter. Yummy, only the tartar should be more diced and more classic, bit I enjoyed it.
For main We got pork belly and tomahawk,except it was 2 short bones,so more like ribeye.
It would be nice to age the meat and not to overcook it.
Dessert was nice.
Overall, really nice and professional experience. Would recommend
