Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are deeply sorry for the distress caused during this journey and would like to sincerely apologise again for the incident involving your mother.

We would like to reassure you and others reading this that the safety and comfort of our passengers, particularly those with additional needs, is our highest priority. All our vehicles are fully equipped with wheelchair anchor points and seatbelt provisions to secure wheelchair passengers safely during transport. We hold photographic evidence of the securement system in this vehicle and are happy to provide this on request for reassurance.

We would also like to clarify that this incident did not occur during transit. It happened while the driver was assisting your mother from the vehicle onto the pavement at the care home premises. Unfortunately, her foot slipped off the wheelchair footrest and became momentarily caught, resulting in a cut to her leg. A member of the care home staff who witnessed the situation immediately provided first aid. The care home has since confirmed that this was an unfortunate accident and not related to the condition of the vehicle or the journey itself.

Following this, we took immediate steps to address the matter. We contacted both the care home and yourself to offer our sincerest apologies, explained the measures we are implementing to prevent such incidents in the future, and provided a full refund for the journey as a gesture of goodwill.

We greatly appreciate your understanding and the kind words you expressed during our recent phone conversation.

Azure Private Hire takes incidents like this very seriously, and we have reminded all drivers of the importance of double-checking footrests and maintaining close attention when assisting wheelchair passengers.
