Brand new driveway that clearly does not drain. Some controversy on who graded the base rock underneath (general contractor nor great west admitted to installing the new base rock--probably because great west is not licensed to do grading--they are a paving only company per license). James (at great west) promised to repair the damage via email, text and phone. I filed against general contractors bond. After 18 months, bonding company convinced general contractor to hire another paving company. The repaving to get the water off happens today. Great west did a decent paving job, but any paver worth his salt checks drainage before they put in asphalt. There are also a few spots cracking--perhaps soft base rock grade or cold asphalt, but those areas stabilized (did not expand). Its unclear who graded the new base rock. I was in grading & paving my entire life and you get what you get when you go non-union. I would never have paved a new job that did not drain. They have some skill, but lack seeing the entire picture. It appears by reading reviews they are trying to up their game. Buyer beware. Caveat emptor. Worse part: James (great west) promised and promised to repave (people make mistakes)...but then yelled at me on phone when i tried to pin him down to a date and strung me along for over a year. Ouch!

John Daley of Great West Asphalt caught me out front of my home around 10:30 and after he explained his company and measured my area that I wanted asphalted his crew was here within 40 or so minutes and job completed within 4 hrs. Careful using these guys who go door to door "we happen to be in your neighborhood and you can save $ blah blah . . . " slick opportunists who do poor work. Watch then closely. There are places their paving is only 1" thick! I've been patching their Work ever since.

Great West Asphalt did a sizable circle driveway for us in fall of 2025. This year they sealed our drive and we had them put down more Asphalt in another area. The crew did a great job, with attention to detail and edging. The work is graded perfectly to allow for proper drainage and the finished product looks great. The bosses / owners are always on site. Reasonable cost. We are very pleased and highly recommend.

Embarrassing saw a group of kids treating Target employees terribly—making a mess, being disrespectful, and even flipping off the employees. They were eventually kicked out of the store, and I watched them get into a company truck belonging to this company. If these individuals are representing your business, their behavior was extremely unprofessional and embarrassing. You should be ashamed to have employees acting like this while associated with your company.

They came over saying they had some left over asphalt. Where we are located I have no idea how they found out we had an asphalt driveway especially with all the growth along the driveway. They were quick they did an overcoat they worked fast and worked hard they did a great job on that part. The price was eh. I found a few crumbles here and there and we have a small dent in the asphalt already, a few weeks after it was paved. Always make sure you get an invoice before you pay them... We almost forgot. ** Edit ** August 28, 2026 They came over again today saying they were in the area running a special. They had noticed that it was time to put sealant on the driveway and they were running a special. I told them we had it done already and they asked how long ago. I told them it's only been a couple of months.

Its rare to find contractors that return a call or show up on time. GWA answered our call, provided an immediate proposal of our driveways from Google Maps, scheduled next day, showed up exactly when they said, completed in the time given and did quality work. While I probably wont need asphalt services again very soon, they would be my first call.

Where do I start. We are a RV Park and get a lot of guests with large trucks, pulling long heavy trailers. Our asphalt was original from 28 years ago and falling apart! Great West Asphalt in Reno did an amazing job! With just under 30,000 feet of roads and parking areas, the crew showed up, worked hard and got the job done just under two days! And that includes striping! We had a lot of concrete next to the asphalt so the preparation was time consuming but critical to a job well done! We have other projects and look forward to having them work on those! Highly recommend them.

These guys are great. I needed some cracks filled and a sealcoat on a big driveway after a few years letting it go . I called them on a Saturday, they answered the phone right away, came over and gave me an estimate within 15 minutes. They did the job a few days later when the weather permitted. Very happy with the results, great job for a reasonable price, highly recommended.

About a year ago they came to my house with the same story I see here from others. They had some" left over" from a parking lot and were offering me a good price to do my driveway, a reasonable price but not wonderful. Once they were done, it looked great. A couple of days later I was noticing that when I turned the wheels on my car it would scrape some of the material up. I called them, they came out and told me that... " you shouldn't turn your wheels while in a stationary position" I should only do it moving. I have been on construction my whole life, placed a lot of asphalt and never heard somelike that. The material is still soft and in some places still crumbling. I think that they let the material get too cold before placing it and it didn’t properly compact. It is already starting to crack. It was a bad decision to let them use the "left over" material ( if that was what it was) because it seemed to have cooled too much to be properly worked. The work was done quickly and efficiently but I would never recommend using " left over" material again. They never came back to offer to seal their work like others have mentioned.
