Where do we even start.
Firstly, we are extremely disappointed to read this review, particularly the very serious public allegation that AM Removals or a member of our team stole your son’s Nintendo Switch.
To be absolutely clear, AM Removals strongly denies any allegation of theft. At no stage has any evidence been provided showing that the Nintendo Switch was handled by our staff, placed on our truck or taken by anyone associated with AM Removals.
When you first contacted me approximately a week after your move regarding the missing console, I specifically asked where it had been at the time of the move. Unfortunately, the information provided to me regarding its location changed on multiple occasions — from being upstairs, to downstairs, and then to being with a bag containing shoes.
Despite this uncertainty, your review now states as fact that the Nintendo Switch “was on their truck” and tells members of the public not to use our company unless they are happy dealing with people who “steal your stuff.”
That is an extremely serious allegation to make against a business with no evidence supporting that allegation, and we reserve our rights regarding the publication of statements accusing our business or staff of criminal conduct. Your place was a mess when we arrived. We couldn't even walk through as the floor was covered with junk that we cleaned up for you.
Regrding the baby grand piano, specialist assistance was arranged because of the nature of the item and the circumstances surrounding its removal. We were not prepared to risk damage to a valuable piano or injury to staff simply to move it ourselves.
There were also significant discrepancies between the information originally provided to us about how the piano and spa had entered the property and what we subsequently discovered. I personally contacted the relevant parties involved with the property and ultimately located and spoke with the people who had originally brought these specialty items into the home. The information we received was alot different from what you told us. We have retained the relevant correspondence in proof.
The spa presented further issues. It had not been drained as we had been advised prior to our arrival, meaning it could not simply be safely removed as expected as it was full of water.
In saying this we continued assisting on with the move. You indicated that the spa could potentially be left for the new owner or given away. Instead, I personally agreed to purchase the spa from you for the amount you requested and then took responsibility for the additional cost and arrangements required to have it removed. You didn't want it.
The remainder of the move also required considerably more work than originally anticipated. A significant amount of packing still needed to be completed when our team arrived. Our staff assisted with packing items moving all the junk so we could walk through the place to move your furniture.
What was expected to be a three-person move ultimately required four people. Despite the additional labour, we did not charge you for the fourth removalist because our priority was getting you moved out within the required timeframe.

I also personally communicated with your real estate agent and the new owner regarding the situation in an effort to assist you with the handover of the property to avoid further issues or potential costs resulting from the property not being ready due to you not having anything packed or ready.

Throughout all of this, we worked with you to find solutions rather than simply walking away when circumstances were different from what had originally been described to us.

We completely understand that having a Nintendo Switch go missing is upsetting, particularly given the circumstances you have described regarding your son. However, a missing item does not establish that we stole it. We have operated AM Removals for many years and take the trust placed in our team extremely seriously.
