Wow ! Was absolutely amazing . Such a gorgeous resort. The rooms were gorg and super clean! A party of 22 was a lot but the lovely Sarah could not have done enough for us organising taxis and recommendations and so accommodating.The cocktails and food were always delicious! The staff were absolutely amazing so so friendly. The BBQ we had was such a fun evening of lovely food as well , and having dance lessons from the staff! I could not recommend this resort enough!
We had 22 of our bridal party stay at Zen Boutique Resort and it was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond for us. Nothing was ever too big or too small—every request was met with a smile, and their warm, friendly energy made our stay feel truly special.
Sarah, one of the owners, was absolutely amazing. She helped us organise everything seamlessly and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure our group had the best experience possible. We couldn’t be more grateful.
The rooms were beautiful—cleaned and tidied daily—and we loved that they were also sprayed with anti-mosquito spray each day.
The food was incredible, and our group especially loved the BBQ night we had at the resort. The staff even knew which guests were in which rooms by name and always made sure we had a drink in hand. Their attention to detail was unmatched.
We truly cannot wait to come back and will absolutely be recommending Zen Boutique Resort to anyone considering a stay here.

Off the beaten track this hotel catered to 22 of us with exceptional kindness, the staff bought an energy regardless of the requests - food and cocktails are incredible and they are very amenable to what is served when asked. We had a full tamzanian bbq one night followed by some traditional dancing from the staff members that we all joined in with. Would 100% recommend this Hotel to anyone wanting a peaceful getaway with great food, great rooms a great pool & great staff.
Zen is a gorgeous oasis of a resort, about 15 mins walk from the beach. Jambiani beach is one of the best on the island, and whilst Zen is not a beach front resort (and doesn't claim to be), the short walk can be avoided if you get a taxi or cheap tuk tuk.
The place itself is just lovely - a huge, lush garden with large and private bungalows which have their own outside seating out the front and very cool outdoor bathrooms to the back. There are also loads of areas to lounge by the large swimming pool or somewhere quiet tucked away in the grounds, and the shared lounge/dining room building is amazing - comfy and with beautiful views from the second floor. There are quiet and private spaces for yoga, meditation or reading and also a separate gym area.
Food and drinks are great, with a substantial, healthy breakfast and quality meals for evening dining.
The staff and owners are stars and couldn't do more to make you feel welcome. Breakfast was always a pleasure as we chatted to Hamfry (not sure how you spell it?) and the owners Sarah and Ty are lovely - calm, helpful and warm without being overbearing.
Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a good value option that is quiet and peaceful, and who doesn't need to be right on the beach. The beautiful setting and fantastic staff make this a wonderful place to stay.

Zen Boutique Jambiani is a an amazing hidden gem with the most amazingy team who looked after us so well. I went with a group of people and the team took the time to get to know each and everyone of us.
Zen is in a good location just a short walk to the beach.
Zen is beautifully designed, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers with lots of places to relax.
The bungalows are immaculately clean, and have everything you need for a comfortable relaxing stay.
The food is delicious and they have a good selection.
We had an incredible 7 day stay at Zen Boutique and would have loved to have stayed longer. I will definitely come back and would highly recommend others to visit.
Zen is one of my favourite stays in the world! It’s my second time I’ve stayed, last year was the first visit, this year I ran my retreat and I have booked again for next year. Sarah and Ty have created a haven that feels safe, calm and peaceful and you can feel such a positive energy from this space made with love. It is clear that they continuously put in the work to make improvements because there have been some wonderful changes made since last year. The host bungalows and the extra features at the bar are amazing!
The staff are the absolute BEST! They deliver a great service and bring so much joy through singing and dancing! The food is DELICIOUS! They have a great chef Fadhili and all the staff, MJ, Izzy, Humphrey, chide, Zowadi and each and every one of them make it the best stay. I have felt that when I’m greeted by the team it feels like being greeted by family I haven’t seen in ages.
On my retreat I had karaoke, quiz, BBQ, party, aqua class and more, Ty and Sarah were so creative in making each night special and facilitated these activities in a way that exceeded my expectations!
Sarah also really supported me in having a great experience both in and out of zen, she has great connections so was able to advise the best places to go.
Overall it’s a 10/10, a space that I would highly recommend. Sarah, Ty and the whole team go above and beyond to ensure each guest is happy, and I’ve truly appreciated the effort in making our Zen stay a wonderful experience in paradise ❤️

J’ai séjourné dans cet hôtel pendant deux semaines dans le cadre d’un déplacement professionnel à Zanzibar ( pour réaliser un reportage sur cette île).
Dès notre arrivée, nous nous sommes sentis comme à la maison. L’accueil des propriétaires et la gentillesse du personnel, toujours aux petits soins malgré nos horaires atypiques (retours très tardifs, départs très matinaux), ont vraiment été très appréciable durant ce séjour.
Nous avons particulièrement apprécié le calme des lieux, la décoration soignée, la musique d’ambiance ainsi que les sourires chaleureux de toute l’équipe. La cuisine a également été un point fort : savoureuse, variée, sachant aussi s’adapter à nos demandes particulières. Mention spéciale au chef pour sa délicieuse soupe de tomates.

Zen Boutique Hotel in Jambiani is a real gem. Just a short walk from the beach, it’s perfectly placed for excursions but still feels calm and quiet, away from the usual crowds. The rooms are spacious, and the outdoor bathroom was such a unique and fun touch.
The hospitality here was truly a winner. Our host, Sarah, was so lovely and friendly — she even went out of her way to prepare a special herbal drink for my sister when she wasn’t feeling well. They also added thoughtful touches to the room and food to celebrate her birthday, which made the stay feel even more special. The floating breakfast was another highlight and such a memorable experience.
And of course, the food overall was absolutely outstanding — beautifully prepared and genuinely some of the best we’ve ever had on holiday. We only wished there was more, because every meal left us wanting another bite! Zen Boutique is the perfect spot if you’re looking for comfort, warm hospitality, and a relaxed stay in Zanzibar.

It's rare to find a place like Zen in Zanzibar and what they've created here really has to be merited. The bush side location gives complete peace and views that are reminiscent of the African Savannah at sunset - An experience in itself - surrounded by untouched landscape! Yet you are only a short walk to the stunning white beaches of Jambiani, a pleasant walk through neighbouring villages and a road that you grab a 'tuktuk' or 'dala' to Paje for the day! In short, if you are looking for a unique stay with friendly hosts that will do their upmost for you, where a lot of thought has gone into each space and offering, don't hesitate to book!
Zen boutique is beautiful and well-maintained. The manager and staff were courteous, welcoming, and professional throughout our stay. The food was also very good, and we truly appreciated the excellent hospitality.

Un des meilleurs hôtels que j’ai faits de ma vie.
L’endroit est tout simplement magnifique, d’une propreté irréprochable. La piscine est incroyable, super bien entretenue, avec une vue de rêve — un vrai petit paradis.
Le petit-déjeuner aussi était top : varié, copieux et super bon, avec des produits frais.
Mais ce qui m’a le plus marquée, c’est l’accueil : le personnel est exceptionnel. Que ce soit les serveurs, la réception ou les autres membres de l’équipe, tout le monde est d’une gentillesse et d’une hospitalité incroyable.
On se sent vraiment comme à la maison, voire mieux !
Je recommande à 1000 %, les yeux fermés.
