Absolutely loved my time at Xanadu. I was there for the week long yoga immersion retreat led by the wonderful Dani which I would highly recommend. I definitely improved my understanding and practice of yoga and exercised my meditation skills. As a lone traveller this retreat was everything I had hoped for, it creates a lovely sense of community and I met some really fun and cool people from the yoga group and the surf group too. Really haven’t laughed so much in a long time.
Everyone at xanadu is so lovely, friendly and accommodating. The rooms are beautiful and the food and drinks are 10/10 !!! Excellent massages at the spa too 🧖🏻♀️
Special shout out to Dani for her knowledgeable guidance and support, Jose for taking such great care of us all and Gal, Riski, Apri and Putri who are all literal angels and keep everything running so smoothly.

The service has been excellent from the very beginning. The experience goes far beyond a typical surf camp — it’s truly an amazing way to discover the island and live something really special.
The staff is definitely the best part of the place. José is super kind, always ready to help and explain everything with great energy. The surf instructors are very skilled and patient; I’ve learned a lot from them.
The facilities are incredible: everything is very well maintained, the rooms are great, and the whole place feels like an oasis. The service is fantastic and everyone is super friendly, making you feel right at home.
On top of that, there’s a huge variety of plans: excursions, local workshops, and different activities, so every day feels different and you get to experience the island in a very complete way.
A truly complete Lombok experience.

The stay was an absolute dream! The accommodation is beautiful — the rooms are very spacious, and the common areas and the pool are wonderful as well.
The service is incredible, and everyone goes above and beyond to create a warm, personal, and family-like atmosphere.
José does an amazing job taking care of everything. You can talk to him about anything, and he always finds a solution and makes sure everyone feels comfortable.
The surf course was fantastic too! Joko, Yogi, and Rendre helped me so much. They constantly motivated me and gave very individual feedback on what I could improve, which made a huge difference.
A very special thank you also to Dani. She teaches absolutely wonderful yoga classes, and you can really feel how passionate she is about it.

I had the most incredible week at Xanadu Retreat for the Yoga Immersion course. The accomodation is immaculate and the entire team go above and beyond to create a very memorable experience. Everything was so well thought out from the very moment I landed at Lombok airport to a driver awaiting making a very smooth check-in. The property and facilities are stunning, the meals 10/10. They offer a very fresh and diverse menu with gorgeous local produce + coffee is incredible too. Shout out to all the front of house crew who are true professionals and so authentic & caring.
The yoga program was absolute heaven and I would recommend for all levels of yoga experience. Dani is a wonderful and very experienced teacher who has this incredible gift for making you feel completely seen and supported. I feel so much more connected to my practice and learned so much from her knowledge, care and guidance. Big love Dani!

My stay at Xanadu was just like a dream. Already before my arrival the staff was super keen to offer me the best experience and that impression carried on with my arrival, going above & beyond to make sure everyone has a good time. If you’re thinking about treating yourself & allowing some time off it’s definitely the place to go. From always-smiling & super helpful Putri at the front desk over Apri, Gal, Riska & Dochy at the restaurant, who always made sure I have everything I need, to José & Kayan, who organise the whole stay and are super keen to adapt feedback for their program & down for a chat this place is filled with wonderful people, who turn your stay into such a rewarding experience. Gong, Yogi, Ray & Doyo made sure I always felt safe in the water and make progress while surfing and wonderful Dani took care in her yoga lessons to ease the tension after a challenging surf.
Overall I can only recommend this wonderful place if you’re looking for a space to connect with yourself, surf and meet wonderful people on the way 🫶🏻

Amazing incredible experience. 10/10 would recommend if you’re into yoga and surf! The surf instructors were awesome (Yogi and team), the hospitality staff and hosts the best! (Thanks Jose, Amri, Kayan, everyone really). The food was absolutely superb, and coming back from the surf trips to awesome food and delicious drinks and a beautiful setting was well worth it. Even during rainy season would absolutely recommend this experience, if you’re on the fence, do it!

I stayed for 2 weeks at the amazing Xanadu Retreat.
What a beautiful place on the hills of Kuta.
The architecture is beautiful and perfectly matched with the interior of the main area as well as the rooms. The pool is beautiful with a perfect view down to Kuta reef.
The food was amazing and a nice mix of local dishes as well as international.
Everyone had a smile on their face and made you feel at home. April and the team a taking care of everything you need.
Surfing was perfectly organized and I did a big progress in my skills. Thanks to all the instructors Rome, Finn, Daffa, Yogi, Doyo and of course the Head Coaches Kayan and Sam who worked in the workshops with us to improve our skills.
Also yoga classes were amazing in a beautiful room facing the nature.
Last but not least I want to mention José who was our host for the two weeks. Everyone enjoys his company and he a cool guy.
Thanks Xanadu for those 2 weeks and I will come back as soon as possible.
Two weeks that passed flying! We guess that when our guests are so nice and attentive time goes faster 😊

Wow what an incredible week at Xanadu retreat! The place itself was so beautiful and very luxe but for me, it was really the people that made it a very special week. There are too many names to write down but José, Dani and Kayan and all of the staff were all so hospitable and made it an unforgettable experience. Heru, Yogi and Rey were awesome surf instructors. They made you feel super safe in the water and made sure we caught some great waves. Not only did I improve so much with my surfing, but as a solo traveller I also made some great friends from all over the world. I am counting down the days until I can go back. 10/10 experience!

I had such an amazing time at Xanadu that I ended up staying for another week! First of all the surf lessons, videos, photos, video analysis and the surf theory was the best I’ve ever had! It truly made a huge difference. A huge thanks to José, Sam and all the surf coaches (a special mention to Doyo, Heru and Asim) for making this experience worth every penny. 🙏🏼❤️
The place itself is beautiful and set high up on the hill so you can actually see all the way down to Kuta. The rooms were cute and the complimentary gifts were a sweet touch. The restaurant and the staff was friendly and got to know everybody’s names in seconds! The barista’s latte art was brilliant and he also plays the guitar! The house dog Luna is a sweetheart and loves the cookies served after a massage. I just can’t think of anything bad to say - tens across the board!!

What a unique place! I have never seen staff being more attentive than at Xanadu. Loved every minute of it. Jose, the host made us feel like home. Super fun if you travel alone or in a group, highly recommended and will be going back for sure!

Xanadu is such an amazing place and felt like home from the very first moment.
It’s the perfect place to learn how to surf or to improve your surf skills. The mix of surf practice and theory is incredibly helpful and well structured. Sam is amazing! I absolutely loved the surf theory classes and workshops. She is super passionate, very knowledgeable and explains things in such a clear and inspiring way.
Big thanks also to my surf instructors Heru, Gong, Osi and Daffa, who were always so patient, encouraging and fun. I loved the car rides, the singing and the great energy.
Last but not least, special thanks to José for being such a great host. He is fun, super kind and always there when you need anything. Especially during my accident he was super supportive, I truly couldn’t have asked for more.

My daughter's 21st birthday present was a trip to Lombok and a 7 day surf/ yoga retreat at Xanadu. My friend Mandy had highly recommended Xanadu and l was immediately grateful and booked us in.
I can honestly say that this 7 day surf retreat was one of the highlights of my and my daughter's travel life, in so many many ways.
Not only is Xanadu a stunning and incredibly well run retreat venue but it was really the staff and local family of beautiful people that made it beyond amazing.
l highly recommend this retreat and location to anyone. l will 100% return and absolutely fell in love with Lombok and the local people and their rich, kind, warm soul's and beautiful culture.

Loved this place 🤍 I spent two amazing weeks here. first a yoga immersion week, then surf + yoga — it couldn’t have been better.

I don’t really know where to start. When I arrived at Xanadu, after a few days of solotravelling, it immediately felt like home. The staff were amazing, very warm. And it was just the beginning. They don’t do fuss, it’s all in the small details.
Gal remembering your coffee in the morning. Apri asking how the surfing was.
And then the surf. It was my first time. But Heru and Asim (🫶) were the best and most patient instructors. My goal was to stand on my board at the end of the week. Well, that happened at the end of the first class. They were so encouraging. Add on top of that the surf workshops with Sam, and nothing can go wrong. Surfing with you guys will forever have a special place in my heart.
Thank you Jose for being such a great host, for creating a home away from home, creating a place where I know I’ll always be welcome, even for a coffee.
I arrived solo, but left with friends for life.
