Xanadu is a special place. Jose and the team have crafted an experience that packs in so much but at the same time gives choice when to be involved or relax on your own. All the staff at the retreat make an effort to know your name and always greet with a big smile. I really loved Sam’s surf theory and video analysis classes, the way she can point out small but important details in your technique has made all the difference and understanding how to work the longboard, read the waves and put into practice was amazing. Shout out to the surf coaches especially Heru for giving pointers on every wave and being my GoPro videographer one of the sessions

I don’t really know where to start. When I arrived at Xanadu, after a few days of solotravelling, it immediately felt like home. The staff were amazing, very warm. And it was just the beginning. They don’t do fuss, it’s all in the small details.
Gal remembering your coffee in the morning. Apri asking how the surfing was.
And then the surf. It was my first time. But Heru and Asim (🫶) were the best and most patient instructors. My goal was to stand on my board at the end of the week. Well, that happened at the end of the first class. They were so encouraging. Add on top of that the surf workshops with Sam, and nothing can go wrong. Surfing with you guys will forever have a special place in my heart.
Thank you Jose for being such a great host, for creating a home away from home, creating a place where I know I’ll always be welcome, even for a coffee.
I arrived solo, but left with friends for life.

The best week I could ever imagine! Surfing, delicious meals, amazing weather, and wonderful people all around.
The entire week is filled with a perfectly planned program that keeps you engaged while still allowing you to relax and enjoy the experience. I started my surfing journey at the basic level, and after just one week I was already surfing on my own. It’s incredible how much progress I made in such a short time thanks to the best instructors on Lombok. Huge thanks to everyone involved, especially the amazing surf coaches Heru & Asim.

I attended the yoga immersion week led by Dani, a great teacher who guided us through the week with thoughtfulness and sensitivity. The program was beautifully structured. It allowed me to fully disconnect, rest deeply, and recharge.

Just had an amazing week at Xanadu Boutique. I completed the surf & yoga package. From the moment I arrived the service was at a high standard and we were made to feel very welcome. The vibe at the boutique was so relaxing and felt like we had our own slice of paradise all to ourselves for the week. The surfs were so much fun and I felt like I really improved from the help of the great surf instructors I had for the week (Romy, Doyo, Heru, Asim), as well as the detailed video analysis sessions with Sam - it was great having 2 in the week to actually apply what we learnt, and great to have a bank of progress vids. We kept very busy with yoga and other surf theory and workshops. I appreciated that the yoga was mainly yin, restorative and breathing based as anything too intense would’ve been hard with the surfing as well. I loved the healthy food and great drinks, always served with a smile. Highly recommend Xanadu, I would love to make an annual visit if possible!

Just came home after the best week at Xanadu retreat!! What a great balance between surfing, yoga, and the luxury of the accommodation and delicious food! Staff are amazing, remembering everyone's name, Gatot! Having smiles and kindness all day long, Apri and Putri! Surf guides who are the BEST, Asim and Romy absolutely made the week, they are fun, strong surfers, great at organising the lineup and always ready to give advice or a push if you need! Sam, legend of a host and so helpful providing great feedback for our surf progression! And Dani, whose voice was expertly guiding us through our yoga practices! I felt really looked after and it was so beautiful that any request was attended to with ease and care! Highly recommend!!

The surf & yoga week at Xanadu was so special to me! The aesthetically pleasing facility, the love for detail combined with the thought trough programme was just a delight. Xanadu resort was an absolute dream. We came for the long mellow waves, but the memories shared with the wonderful souls at Xanadu Resort will stay with us forever. From Jose keeping it real in house, Sam and Asim helping us progress in the waves and all the amazing vibes flowing from the house staff it’s just awesome at every turn. Without a doubt, this has been the best retreat/surf camp I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to a few already). The place is dreamy, but it’s not just that, the staff has every detail covered, Sam was an amazing coordinator, Apri always had a smile in their face and remembered all our names, Gatot always knew what I needed/wanted and I can go on and on with each and every one of them. Of course I can’t not mention the amazing instructors we had, Doyo, Osiris and Dafa are to blame for my next longboard purchase. It’s impressive how much one can improve in only one week with the proper guidance and training. I can keep going but I’d never finish. Just had an AMAZING experience with like minded group of people. Just warning, I’ll be back! ❤️

José was so onto it with communicating the plan for the week and ensuring everything was okay. Shout out to the staff Apri, Gatot, Galan, Riska, Putri for being so attentive and always smiling.
Sam you can tell is so passionate about surfing and her theory and video analysis sessions were a highlight. It was great to know the "why" behind feedback etc.
Also the yoga sessions were so appreciated. I loved Danielle's style of leading the sessions and always left feeling ao calm and grounded.
Lastly hugeeee thanks to group 1 instructors Gong, Heru, Daffa and Yogi. Helped me so much with my pop up and feeling safe in the water. Some of the most patient people I've met, always cheering everyone on and keeping vibes high at all times.
Would recommend anyone looking to progress their surfing in a supportive environment to book here :)

We loved Xanadu! The hosts José and Sam we fantastic, we improved heaps with the surf instructors they were really helpful (Romy, Asim and Amir) and the staff were super lovely (Apri, Gatot, Galan, Riska, Putri), if you love yoga then Dani will be your favourite! Can’t forget Luna the cutest pup of course!!
Absolutely loved Xanadu Surfcamp!! Great surf lessons on amazing beaches, cool surf instructors, and super relaxing yoga classes.
The place is so cool — comfy bed and spacious room, beautiful swimming pool, and lovely food. Super friendIy surfcamp managers and staff - I was a solo female traveller and they made me feel at home.
I can highly recommend it!! 🌊✨

Xanadu ist ein magischer Ort.
Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön, grossräumige Zimmer, eine traumhafte Aussicht vom Pool, ein unglaublich leckeres Restaurant und so liebevolles Personal.
Ich konnte mich jeden morgen aufs neue freuen von so lieben Leuten wie Apri, Desi, Putri, Gatot, Galan und Riska begrüsst zu werden und über den Tag zu plaudern.🌞
Ebenfalls hatte ich die lehrreichsten und lustigsten Stunden im Wasser mit Asim und Romy, sowie allen anderen. Ich bin sehr dankbar für die unendliche Geduld die sie mit mir hatten und wie viel ich mit ihnen lernen konnte!🫰🏼
Jedoch wäre Xanadu Retreat nicht das was es ist, ohne Surfmanagerin Sam und Hostmanager José! Ob ich frustriert war nach einer zu verkopften Surfsession oder mit dem grössten Lächeln im Gesicht zurückgekommen bin, waren beide immer für mich da und haben mir das gegeben was ich brauchte!
Ich habe mich so wohl gefühlt in dieser Familie, dass ich gleich noch eine Woche angehänkt habe🤭
