Just came home after the best week at Xanadu retreat!! What a great balance between surfing, yoga, and the luxury of the accommodation and delicious food! Staff are amazing, remembering everyone's name, Gatot! Having smiles and kindness all day long, Apri and Putri! Surf guides who are the BEST, Asim and Romy absolutely made the week, they are fun, strong surfers, great at organising the lineup and always ready to give advice or a push if you need! Sam, legend of a host and so helpful providing great feedback for our surf progression! And Dani, whose voice was expertly guiding us through our yoga practices! I felt really looked after and it was so beautiful that any request was attended to with ease and care! Highly recommend!!
The surf & yoga week at Xanadu was so special to me! The aesthetically pleasing facility, the love for detail combined with the thought trough programme was just a delight. What made the experience outstanding were the people. Everyone made my day with their big smiles and kindness. Xanadu resort was an absolute dream. We came for the long mellow waves, but the memories shared with the wonderful souls at Xanadu Resort will stay with us forever. From Jose keeping it real in house, Sam and Asim helping us progress in the waves and all the amazing vibes flowing from the house staff it’s just awesome at every turn. Without a doubt, this has been the best retreat/surf camp I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to a few already). The place is dreamy, but it’s not just that, the staff has every detail covered, Sam was an amazing coordinator, Apri always had a smile in their face and remembered all our names, Gatot always knew what I needed/wanted and I can go on and on with each and every one of them. Of course I can’t not mention the amazing instructors we had, Doyo, Osiris and Dafa are to blame for my next longboard purchase. It’s impressive how much one can improve in only one week with the proper guidance and training. I can keep going but I’d never finish. Just had an AMAZING experience with like minded group of people. Just warning, I’ll be back! ❤️

José was so onto it with communicating the plan for the week and ensuring everything was okay. Shout out to the staff Apri, Gatot, Galan, Riska, Putri for being so attentive and always smiling.
Sam you can tell is so passionate about surfing and her theory and video analysis sessions were a highlight. It was great to know the "why" behind feedback etc.
Also the yoga sessions were so appreciated. I loved Danielle's style of leading the sessions and always left feeling ao calm and grounded.
Lastly hugeeee thanks to group 1 instructors Gong, Heru, Daffa and Yogi. Helped me so much with my pop up and feeling safe in the water. Some of the most patient people I've met, always cheering everyone on and keeping vibes high at all times.
Would recommend anyone looking to progress their surfing in a supportive environment to book here :)

We loved Xanadu! The hosts José and Sam we fantastic, we improved heaps with the surf instructors they were really helpful (Romy, Asim and Amir) and the staff were super lovely (Apri, Gatot, Galan, Riska, Putri), if you love yoga then Dani will be your favourite! Absolutely loved Xanadu Surfcamp!! Great surf lessons on amazing beaches, cool surf instructors, and super relaxing yoga classes.
The place is so cool — comfy bed and spacious room, beautiful swimming pool, and lovely food. Super friendIy surfcamp managers and staff - I was a solo female traveller and they made me feel at home.

Ich konnte mich jeden morgen aufs neue freuen von so lieben Leuten wie Apri, Desi, Putri, Gatot, Galan und Riska begrüsst zu werden und über den Tag zu plaudern.🌞
Ebenfalls hatte ich die lehrreichsten und lustigsten Stunden im Wasser mit Asim und Romy, sowie allen anderen. Ich bin sehr dankbar für die unendliche Geduld die sie mit mir hatten und wie viel ich mit ihnen lernen konnte!🫰🏼
Jedoch wäre Xanadu Retreat nicht das was es ist, ohne Surfmanagerin Sam und Hostmanager José! Ob ich frustriert war nach einer zu verkopften Surfsession oder mit dem grössten Lächeln im Gesicht zurückgekommen bin, waren beide immer für mich da und haben mir das gegeben was ich brauchte!

Unlike other surf trip they both put a lot of effort, time and care to make sure the surf theory , surf workshops and video analysis are very useful …I learnt a lot here and improved which wasn’t the case in other camps unfortunately

Behind the scenes, the dynamic duo of surf manager Sam and host manager José worked seamlessly to ensure everything ran perfectly. Whether it was organizing my days or lifting my spirits, they kept me smiling from ear to ear throughout the entire week.
And when I wasn’t on the waves, the Xanadu staff—Apri, Desi, Gatot, Galan, Riska, Putri and everyone else behind the scenes—made every moment feel effortless. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care elevated the experience into something beyond a retreat—it felt like being welcomed into a family.
The people I met while staying at Xanadu are now those I call friends, and will be forever, after sharing such a wonderful experience.

Spent a week at Xanadu Retreat for the Yoga & Surf program and it was incredible. All of the staff are amazing, Dani the Yoga instructor is fantastic, Jose the host is so welcoming, Sam the surf coach is genuinely a wealth of knowledge for all surf theory and any questions. The surf instructors are locals from Lombok and have grown up surfing the local breaks - Asim was so friendly, patient, energetic and an amazing surfer. The retreat had options for advanced surfers to beginners.
Outside the program, which was smoothly run every day, the food and rooms were incredible and the space brought such a sense of peace and calm.
Would highly recommend the Retreat.

The Perfect Place to Learn Surfing and Feel at Home
I chose Xanadu because the program looked very structured online, and it gave me the impression that there was a real plan behind learning how to surf. I had never surfed in my life before, and I was absolutely amazed by the whole experience.
The accommodation is beautiful – both in terms of design and cleanliness – and the people working there are just wonderful. Everything is very well thought through, and from the moment I arrived I truly felt at home. I had already been traveling and staying in different places before, but I was especially looking forward to arriving at Xanadu, and my expectations were definitely exceeded.
The hotel staff were also a real highlight. Whether at the reception, in the kitchen, or at the bar, everyone was always so attentive and kind. Apri, Desi, Gatot, Galan, Denis and Putri even learned all our names and always greeted us personally – which might sound like a small detail, but it really shows the level of care here, and it’s definitely not something I take for granted.
A special thank you to José and Sam, who do an outstanding job with guest relations, planning, and overseeing the entire program.
But my absolute highlight was without doubt the surf instructors. They are all locals, with many years of experience, fully trained and certified. Beyond being great teachers, they brought such an incredible energy and vibe to every single day. They organized everything, picked us up, loaded the cars, took care of every detail – and still always had a smile on their faces or a joke ready to make us laugh. I had so much fun with them, not only learning the surfing basics but also picking up something much bigger: their way of seeing life in such a positive, lighthearted way. The surf instructors really made my stay unforgettable. My surf instructors were Heru and Daffa, but I also got to spend some time with some of the other instructors like Musta, Asim, and Osi in and out of the water, which was equally great.
I would recommend Xanadu to absolutely everyone. It’s not only about surfing or yoga (though Dani’s yoga was also beautiful and complemented the surfing perfectly) – it’s the whole package that makes it so special. Surfing was the activity I was most excited about, but it was everything else on top – the hospitality, the food, the accommodation, the people, and of course the magical island of Lombok, which truly stole my heart.
Thank you so much to the entire team. Keep up the amazing work, and I really hope I can come back one day – I’d be more than happy to!
