I had a great day on the Self-Rescue Training Day, organised through my climbing club. I learned a lot of genuinely useful techniques, all taught in a way that was easy to understand and replicate in real-world situations. The instruction was extremely professional throughout. I’d highly recommend it and would happily use Eddy again.

I had a private day of instruction with Eddy and it was excellent. The day was well structured, starting with a recap of key fundamentals and then building into more advanced skills including sport climbing, placing protection (nuts and hexes), setting up anchors, and abseiling systems. Eddy’s teaching style was spot on. He struck a great balance between trust and vigilance, keeping everything safe while still giving me the space to make decisions and develop confidence. He also explained things clearly, asked good questions to check my understanding, and encouraged me to think through decisions rather than just follow instructions. The day gave me both a solid refresher of the essentials and real progression in my skills. Highly recommended.

I had an amazing time outdoor climbing in Portland with Eddy, it was part of my apprentice trip and I had so much fun and learnt a lot along the way. Eddy knows how to teach, facilitate learning and how to make every moment fun as it can be. 5 stars is a no brainer and I cannot wait to book another session with Eddy and Young’s Adventure Solutions. I’ve added a picture from our session and there’s me belaying in the back.
