I love this place so much. It is consistent open and inspiring. The 15 years I’ve come here I can’t live on it enough - the teachers give it each their spin, the crazy patchwork of yogis makes me feel like the whole world comes together here to flex, stretch and heal. The best part: when I leave I can feel my whole body is having a party… limbs, joints, muscles and all.

Charlotta, this truly made us smile. It is always such a pleasure to have you in class. You bring so much light and love, and you are such a beautiful part of the patchwork you describe.
Fifteen years of practicing together is something really special, and we’re so grateful you’ve been part of this community for so long. We love that you feel the individuality of each teacher while still feeling that shared spirit that brings everyone together.
That “full-body party” feeling is exactly what we hope for and hearing that means so much. Thank you for your kind words, your energy, and for being such an important part of Yoga Tribe. We’re always happy to see you walk through the door.

I'm so thankful that this yoga studio is available in the neighborhood. They've been here for a long time. The lobby is roomy and peaceful as soon as you walk in the studio. The instructors are pleasant. They have a water refill station. Natural light fills the yoga studio. Just an overall underrated, hidden gem that I'm thankful to be a part of!

Thank you so much for the kind words! We are so grateful to be a part of this neighborhood and to have been here for so many years. We’ve worked hard to make the lobby and studio a peaceful escape from the city, so it’s wonderful to hear that the natural light and roomy space are hitting the mark for you. Thank you for calling us a 'hidden gem'—we are so thankful to have you in our community!
So grateful for this spot. Just got an introductory 7 day pass for 45 and man am I so happy I did. The vibes the flow, and the care is top notch. They have very strong attention to detail while letting you still listen to your body and take breaks when u need to. Caroline led my first class and Carla led the second. They are very good at what they do. Do your self a favor and take a class here. You will not regret it. See you on the mat! namaste 🙏🏼

Namaste! We are so happy you decided to take advantage of the 7-day intro pass. It’s wonderful to hear that both Caroline and Carla made such a great impression during your first few classes. We truly believe in that balance of strong instruction and listening to your own body, so we’re glad that resonated with you. We can't wait to see you back on the mat for the rest of your intro week and beyond!
I was a bit intimidated to try yoga, but the yoga tribe made me feel at home from the moment I walked in. The front desk staff was so welcoming, and the space is incredibly clean and peaceful. I took the YIN YOGA class with Saya Ishii, who gave excellent cues and modifications. I left feeling taller, calmer, and much more confident. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a non-judgmental community!

A real studio with real people who do real yoga = real community. It feels like I’ve stumbled on the oasis paradise in a desert of “yogatainment” and hyped up fluff. Yoga Tribe has authenticity and integrity in spades with world class asana champions teaching and practicing along side practitioners of all levels. If you are serious about your practice, you will benefit from your service and devotion to Yoga Tribe.

This has been my home studio since 2016. It is a bright, welcoming place with a variety of classes ranking from beginner 26+2 to adv/int vinyasa to mat pilates to relaxing yin yoga. There is always something new to discover about the self here! So happy to be a part of the YTB family and start my teaching journey at this studio.

Thank you so much for being part of our community since 2016. We’re deeply grateful that Yoga Tribe Brooklyn (YTB) has felt like home for you and a place of continued growth and discovery. Supporting students as they step into teaching is one of our greatest joys. For 23 years, this place has been a home to Brooklyn, and there’s always space for you here. We’re so happy you’re part of the YTB family.
Hi YTB,
I wanted to share some feedback about the 6:30p class CLASSIC 26+2 HOT 90 on Tuesday, Nov. 11 led by Caro Lokah.
I could see that the studio thermostat was reading 117°F since my mat was positioned in the back corner. Would you say that’s an acceptable temperature? Every website I’ve checked says that temperature is too high for hot yoga, but maybe I’m wrong or missing something.
About halfway through the class (45 minutes in), I started feeling too hot and overheated. I was concerned for my well-being and uncomfortably hot. I quietly let Caro know I was too hot when she was nearby me. So I was preparing to leave the class early, but Caro pressured me to stay. This also made me feel more uncomfortable and embarrassed. I’ve attended hot yoga classes before and even at your studio, but I learned in Caro's class that 117°F is well beyond my tolerance level and a health-risk, in general.
I understand that hot yoga is meant to be challenging, but this level of heat felt unsafe. I wanted to make you aware, as I’m concerned that such high temperatures and Caro's response to my situation could pose a risk to your students’ health. Could you please confirm if this was intentional and Caro's response to my situation follows the guidelines of Yoga Tribe Brooklyn? Up until that class, I was really enjoying YTB.
Thank you for looking into this and responding.
Tracy
P.S. I tried emailing YTB, but there is no email listed on your site. I tried to DM YTB on Instagram, but it says "they don't allow new message requests from everyone." I sent a LinkedIn DM on Nov. 15, but no one replied.

We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience at our studio didn’t feel great, and we genuinely appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. Our intention is always to create a space where every single person feels welcome, seen, and supported.
You’re absolutely right that our phone number should be easier to find. Although it is located in the footer of every page on our website, we completely understand how it could have been missed. We've already reached out to our web developer to make it more visible and accessible.
Regarding the thermostat readings, we understand how that could be confusing. We have four thermostats along the back wall, and while most differ only slightly, the one closest to the window can sometimes read 10–12 degrees off due to the way it’s mounted. After 23 years of teaching and running hot classes, we’ve learned that maintaining the ideal environment is a delicate balance of temperature and humidity, and we’re always working to keep it as consistent and comfortable as possible.
It can be challenging for teachers to step into conversation during a class, but someone absolutely should have followed up with you right afterward. I’m sorry that didn’t happen. You deserved that care and clarity in the moment.
Jessica, one of the owners will reach out to you personally as well, because we want to be sure you feel fully heard. If there’s anything more you’d like to share—or if you simply want to talk—we’re here for you. You can reach us anytime at 718-399-3369 or at manager@yogatribebrooklyn.com.
Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to listen and improve. We truly hope to welcome you back.
Warmly,
Sarah, YTB Management

I like the instructors here but am disappointed there is not AC (or it was not put on in any of the classes I went to). Classes that were not billed as hot yoga classes were extremely hot and sweaty, and I almost passed out in Elly’s Vinyasa Flow Plus class.

We’re really sorry to hear that your experience wasn’t what you were hoping for. At Yoga Tribe, we offer a range of classes including classic hot yoga, heated Vinyasa, and non-heated options like Vinyasa and Yin.
Just to clarify, when we say “non-heated,” we mean exactly that—no additional heat is added to the room. That said, some classes like Vinyasa Flow Plus with Ely are designed for intermediate to advanced students and can naturally build a lot of internal heat through movement. Elly always reminds students at the beginning that taking breaks by sitting in meditation is completely welcome.
We truly appreciate you trying us out and hope you’ll join us again for a class that better suits your preferences.

A great studio with a strong community. All the teachers (regular & substitute) are strong teachers with clear verbal cues, commitment to alignment, and welcoming to all bodies and skill levels. I've been a regular practitioner at this studio for 2-3 years and have always felt a clear sense of community and a welcoming atmosphere for students. They offer regular classes in bikram (26 & 2) & vinyasa styles, and some limited pilates/yin/pop-up offerings. Highly recommend!

I LOVE Yoga Tribe, it’s the perfect neighborhood yoga studio. Good vibes, great instructors, wonderful community. I appreciate how they care and listen to the community, recently they did so by adding a 4:30 heated vinyasa class M-Th, which is a good time for me, so thanks Yoga Tribe. Check out this studio, esp. you live/work in the area, but even if you didn’t, still worth checking out. I’m so glad Yoga Tribe is my yoga home.

My yoga practice has taken root and flourished at Yoga Tribe.
At 69 years old, every time I show up on the mat; the yoga begins anew with introspective continuity.
This studio comprises a diverse community of students and teachers where an energetic vibe is palpable.
In my experience, instructors embody confidence and approachability. Additionally, class offerings are consistent and vary across many traditions.
With 23 years of service in Brooklyn, Yoga Tribe continues to provide a supportive haven where:

This place has given me so much. A class structure where I can practice and improve... A space to go where I can work on simply not giving up, i.e. falling into smeary slug mode. I am really grateful for Yoga Tribe! So many great teachers -- all with their own vibe. Every class is filled with a variety of folks, so that's great too. Never was itching to be "all about yoga" per se, but alas, here I am at nearly 50... loving it. Been a member for a couple of years now and not sure where the hell I would be without them!

Thank you so much for such an honest and wonderful review! We absolutely love hearing that the studio has become a place where you can challenge yourself (and skip the 'slug mode'!). It is members like you who make our diverse community so special, and we are honored to have been part of your journey over the last couple of years. Age is truly just a number on the mat, and we’re so glad you’ve embraced the 'all about yoga' life with us. Here’s to many more years of practice together!
The owners of this studio, Roody and Jess, are magical, thoughtful, and so welcoming. I’ve taken the Bikram series with them for over a decade, through two wonderful pregnancies and love the energy and experience always. The early morning classes are my favorite way to start the day!
Also, last fall, I started taking Pascale’s vinyasa class as well. When taking class with Pascale, it feels like you’re experiencing a universe of knowledge. The focus on energy, breath, strength and release has changed my practice and life in such vital, relaxing, and wonderful ways!
This studio and community is amazing!

Jen: Thank you so much for these beautiful words! It has been such an honor to have you in our community for over a decade and to have shared in the journey of your two pregnancies. Seeing our students grow through different stages of life is exactly why we do what we do. We are also so glad you’ve connected with Pascale’s Vinyasa classes; she truly does bring a 'universe of knowledge' to the mat. Thank you for being such a vital part of the tribe’s energy all these years. We’ll see you at the next early morning class!

Yoga Tribe is the best studio in the area. They’ve got a wide range of classes from 26/2 hot yoga, to beginner and advanced vinyasa, to Burn Lab Pilates. However, the best part about Yoga Tribe is that it has such an amazing community, bringing everyone together. Really. As their motto says, “Every. Body. Belongs.” The space is large and super welcoming, with ample-sized changing rooms and showers. Jess and Roody, the owners, as well as all the teachers, are wonderful and knowledgeable. I’m so happy that Yoga Tribe exists and gives me a place to focus and meditate, even if it’s just for 90 minutes. You won’t find a better studio!

Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our community—we’ll see you back in the hot room soon!
I joined Yoga Tribe Brooklyn already 16 years ago and I would not go for my classes anywhere else. It is a wonderful studio! The teachers are excellent and the studio offers a good variety of classes. The owners have been able to create a special, community oriented environment.

Sixteen years! Your loyalty truly moves us, and we are so grateful to have had you as part of our community for nearly two decades. It has been a joy to watch the studio evolve alongside students like you. Thank you for the kind words about our teachers and the environment we’ve built together. You are a huge part of what makes Yoga Tribe so special, and we look forward to seeing you for many more classes to come!
Love this studio, the teachers, the students, and the COMMUNITY at YogaTribe so so much. I started coming to this studio when it was in its first location (much closer to where I live) and there is no hot yoga studio in NYC I have found that comes close to providing the level of care, community and safe supported rigor of a classic 26 +2 yoga practice as well as many other styles of yoga that are also exceptional. No one comes close! Now I enjoy walking or biking through prospect park in all seasons to get to class. Try the intro week and come a few times... maybe you will find a lifelong practice and yoga home here as I have.
