I’ve been eating biltong since I was a child and have tried it all around the world, so I don’t say this lightly — it’s been incredibly hard to find truly authentic biltong in the U.S. That’s why I was so excited to discover Yebo Biltong.
Michael, the owner, is South African, and it really shows in the quality and authenticity of his product. As a bit of a traditionalist, I usually stick to classic flavors, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the peri peri and the other varieties (I ended up trying just about everything!).
My personal favorite might be the chili sticks — absolutely delicious. And if you prefer your biltong a bit drier like I do, you can easily let it air dry a little more at home.
I’ve also visited the shop in person, and Michael took the time to show me how everything is made. The space was spotless, and you can tell he takes real pride in his craft.
This place came highly recommended to me by South African friends, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I’ve ordered multiple times since my visit, and shipping has always been quick and hassle-free.
If you’re looking for legit, high-quality biltong in the U.S., this is the real deal.

Wow!! There is good Biltong, and then there is Yebo. I am not only thoroughly impressed with the products that Michael produces, I was also impressed with his generosity and friendly service. He even took the time to show me around his facility and offered free samples of various types of his Biltong. I don’t think there is a better or higher quality Biltong around. Definitely stop by and grab yourself a few bags! You will not regret it.

Absolutely blown away. I picked up biltong, droëwors, and a few other goodies—and this is the real deal. The quality is top-tier and the flavor is spot on, proper South African taste done right. No shortcuts, no nonsense—just seriously good product.
Everything was fresh, full of flavor, and you can taste the authenticity in every bite. It genuinely feels like a taste of home.
I’ll 100% be back for more. If you’re even thinking about it—just do it.

Really great operation run by Mike, which results in some of the best biltong I have ever tasted. Plenty of other familiar SA goodies to go along with it.

Found this shop next to the seafood market we like, looked it up to see what it was and they have good reviews (for a reason!) and the snacks sounded interesting. The owners are super friendly and were happy to talk to us about their products and even show us where they process everything and tell us all about what they make. It was so cool to see it all. Their meat snacks are delicious! We have liked everything we tried, I prefer the original biltong and hubby loves it all but he likes the sticks. I love that we found a high protein snack that isn't highly processed and full of junk. I have seen them at the Vista farmers market too, so keep an eye out for them there too!
Wow! Have had the product at Farmer's markets. But going to the shop was even better! We got a brief tour from Michael, the place is so clean! Samples were devoured, products were purchased, appetites were satisfied.

I had such a great experience visiting Yebo Beef Snacks in San Diego! The owner was incredibly friendly, and the store had a surprisingly wide variety of South African products. The biltong was amazing!!! and I picked up some lekker boerwors (it made it through the airport in my carry on 😊 , except the prego sauce 😅), tennis biscuits for my peppermint crisp tart, and a few treats we usually enjoy back home. Everything was so flavorful and nostalgic, it genuinely gave me a little taste of home. Finding this store truly put the cherry on top of my trip, especially since I live in the U.S. now. Highly recommend!
