What a truly gloriously secluded little corner of Cornwall this is! We stayed in one of the Safari tents and were overjoyed with the space, decor, and not to mention the wood burning stove. As for the wood fired hot tub, what can I say? Sat out in the hot tub in the rain, nice and toasty. Perfect spot, perfect accommodation.
I stayed in the treehouse 'Simba' and what a fantastic and unusual place to stay it is. Surrounded by and amongst the treetops, very well equipped, and with an extremely comfortable bed. Tiny but functional kitchen and a small shower room which was unlike any I have seen - galvanised steel walls, shining copper pipes, taps made of isolator valves and the spout into a glass sink just a copper tube. The whole effect was great fun and very 'African'.
The highlight for me was waking in the night and staring through the skylight at the stars through oak boughs, and in the morning sipping breakfast tea on the veranda; being at one and peace with nature was brilliant.
A great place to stay if you want peace, tranquillity and immersion in nature.
What a truly special place James and Alex have created! We had such a wonderful weekend in one of the safari tents at Wrinklers Wood and didn’t want to leave. Everything had been thought of to make our stay perfect and James and Alex couldn’t have been more helpful. The tent was beautifully furnished and equipped, the setting so tranquil and the wood fired hot tub such a bonus. We also had wonderful meditation and pamper sessions with Alex in her Wellness cabin which were so nourishing. I can’t recommend Wrinklers Wood enough and will definitely be back!
We were looking for a special end-of-summer escape with Canopy & Stars, and Wrinklers Wood Glamping was the perfect choice.
The site is absolutely stunning, with a variety of unique accommodation options, each thoughtfully designed and offering both comfort and privacy. It’s such a refreshing retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.
We stayed in a safari tent and loved it so much that we ended up extending our trip with a night in the treehouse cabin – both experiences were unforgettable!
A huge thank you to James, the owner, who was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. He’s a true gent, and his passion for the site shines through in every detail.
We can’t recommend Wrinklers Wood Glamping enough – it’s a little slice of magic in Cornwall.

We had a fantastic stay in one of the wrinklers wood tents. A great set up with everything you’d need. The wood fired hot tub was a highlight! Great to watch the stars with no light pollution around. St Agnes is a short drive away, where there’s great food places. Lots of excellent beaches close by too. Would highly recommend!
My partner and I were looking for a little weekend away in Cornwall, somewhere a bit different to your typical hotel. We came across Wrinklers Wood Glamping and stayed in the Simba Treehouse for a couple of nights and we truly do not have one bad word to say about it!
The room itself was so cosy and had such a proper woodland feel about it, leaving us in our own little bubble during our stay. It was clean, peaceful and had everything we needed to feel comfortable. The welcome pack had all the information we needed on the local area from shops, where to eat, activities and more.
The sunrise lit up the room during the morning, the sound of the trees on the balcony while we ate breakfast felt so tranquil, and sleeping under the skylight to the sight of the stars was a nice touch. The bed itself allowed us to get a good nights sleep which is obviously important. Also the hot tub, although takes a while to heat up, was worth the wait! It was an incredible experience and by far the best and most interesting place we have ever stayed in.
On another note, James, the host, was incredibly nice and went out of his way to introduce himself, along with providing us with his local knowledge that was helpful when looking for things to do. He was generally interested in whether we were happy and comfortable after our first night in the treehouse. It was nice of him to make himself available and include his number in the welcome pack, just in case we needed him for anything.
The room was ready and easy for us to check in to, no meet ups required, just show up and walk straight in. Checking out was just as easy. Phone signal wasn’t great, although that was expected considering the location but added to the experience from temporarily escaping the rest of the world.
Thank you James for being a great host and creating this amazing experience for us. You should be incredibly proud of what you have built! We will definitely be recommending you and hopefully will stay again next summer.

Lovely, private cabin in the woods. Lots of attention to detail and James was very welcoming. Bike hire was an added bonus and allowed more freedom as didn’t have to worry about car parking. Cornish apple juice welcome drink was very delicious too. Hot tub temperature was a little tricky to control and would’ve been nice to have a window to open overnight rather than leave a door open but minor thing. Eye masks were a must!
Edit: Rating adjusted following the host’s response
“Just ask and we’ll fix it” sounds flexible until you question the pricing. Comfort is negotiable, cost isn’t.
Because nothing says “relaxing luxury retreat” like being told how you should have complained properly, while defending features that would’ve been fine if the basics were actually covered.
After hosting hundreds of guests, the lesson remains elusive: discomfort isn't cancelled out by scenic views, and “value for money” isn’t a mood, it’s a baseline.
Apparently, luxury here means:
• Installing blinds during a short stay, rather than offering them as standard.
• Delivering a mattress topper and soft pillows but only if you ask nicely mid-stay.
• Raising concerns during a spa treatment with a separate business, while trying to relax.
• Receiving multiple emails mid-stay chasing a £30 spa voucher difference.
• A toilet placed conveniently next to the “well-thought-out” cooking area.
• Being lectured about pricing strategies and Canopy & Stars partnerships (where, by the way, 60% of reviews are 1-star on Trustpilot).
Let’s also clear this up: I didn’t demand a refund - I suggested one as a fair resolution. Instead, the host opted to respond from atop a very lofty highchair… sorry, high horse.
Hundreds of opportunities to get it right and yet, here we are.

Disappointing value for money
We booked the Chui Tree House for a special getaway, drawn in by the promise of remote luxury and a chance to unwind in nature. At nearly £300 per night, our expectations were set high but what we received, unfortunately, didn’t justify the price.
Yes, the woodland setting is tranquil, and the idea of a tree house retreat is lovely in theory. But basic comfort was lacking, the bed and pillows were firm, making it difficult to sleep. And each morning, we were woken by sunlight flooding through a skylight directly over the bed (to our suprise without any option to cover at all) and several unshaded windows with no appropriate blinds, no restful sleeps.
While it’s true that some may not mind early wake-ups and sparse comfort, it misses the point: this is meant to be a premium retreat. At this price point, the basics shouldn’t need troubleshooting, nor should guests be expected to negotiate comfort after arrival. That’s not luxury, that’s compromise!
The host has since responded defending the pricing by citing marketing partner "Canopy & Stars" recommendations and other guests’ satisfaction. Unfortunately, this gave the impression that maintaining their pricing strategy was more important than engaging meaningfully when the experience falls short.
Others were happy, so we should be too?!
The majority of reviews refer to the tented option but the price difference between the tree house and the tented options is significant and not remotely justified by the experience.
If we wanted to go camping in the woods we could have had that for a fraction of the price, so regretfully, I can not recommend!
It’s a creative concept but it needs real attention to comfort and value to warrant the premium price.

Hi Jens,
Thank you for your review and sorry you were disappointed with your stay.
What you failed to mention in the review was that you contacted me after your stay to make your complaints to me which were basically that you didn't like the pillows, the hard mattress or the skylight and demanded a 50% refund. My response asked you why you did not contact me on your first morning. I contact all guests on arrival to welcome them and to tell them to let me know if there is anything they need. You responded that all was well so you had my number and a line of communication was open. The second morning you had a massage and treatment booked with my wife at our on-site wellness centre. She asked you if all was well to which you affirmed it was. Surely it would be the sensible thing to make it known to either me of my wife that you were not happy. Had you simply told us you were not happy we could have easily remedied your issues, I could have replaced pillows / found a softer mattress topper and even covered the skylight.
Rather you decided to stay nothing and have two more nights where you couldn't sleep and then write to me to complain and demand a refund. Is that a logical response to a minor issue that could have been resolved on day one?
Whilst I do not accept that the comfort levels are in any way in questions, having spoken with hundreds of guests over the past 4 years, it should be noted that the price point does not just reflect the comfort levels but the environment and experience too. The treehouse is set is a private wood with absolutely no other buildings in sight, with a private orchard behind, a private hot tub and a 180 degree view of the wood. This is what we sell, being immersed in the woods, and is why the blinds allow you to still see out and the sky light allows you to see the stars and moon light. There is a huge balcony overlooking the woodland where you can see deer and other animals that in habit this natural space. The interior is lined with beautiful Cornish larch, with a bespoke kitchenette, there is Egyptian cotton linen sheets and robes. In keeping with our African theme there is original artwork I personally sourced from Tanzania on the wall. In addition there is an on site Wellness Centre, with a large array of holistic treatments / massages / breathwork and an infra red sauna.
These are not features and facilities of a cheap place and I am sorry you cant see that.
I encourage you in the future to tell someone at the time if you are not happy as I know the vast majority of owners / managers will do what ever they can to make you happy. It is impossible to do this after you have left!

We stayed at Simba Treehouse for three nights as a birthday treat and absolutely loved it. The setting is beautiful. Tucked away down a long track, it feels properly secluded and peaceful. The treehouse is cosy, light, airy, and thoughtfully designed. We loved waking up in the very comfortable bed with daylight filtering through the canopy of trees all around.
We packed in some local adventures, and the nearby coastline is just stunning. Chapel Porth Beach, a walk along the coast path around St Agnes Head, a sunset beer and pizza at the Schooners beach bar, and dinner at the nearby Peterville Inn are all recommended.
The owners are friendly, responsive, and provided clear communication, although the printed guide with local recommendations could do with an update. There were some lovely touches, like enough firewood for the hot tub and some local apple juice and snacks on arrival. They also offer extras like wellness treatments, a small shop with basic essentials, and reasonably priced daily bike hire, which we used and really enjoyed.
Mobile signal in the treehouse is a little patchy (though there’s 5G at the car park), and there’s no Wi-Fi. On one hand, that added to the off-grid feel, but it did make modern comforts like streaming music or radio a bit tricky.
All in all, a really special stay — perfect for a treat, and thoroughly recommended.
We had the most incredible few days here surrounded by beauty, peace and nature. The safari tents have everything you might possibly need and more, giving total luxury whilst still feeling like you are connecting with the land. The land itself feels special and ancient. It was very memorable to be able to watch the full moon rise, listening to the owls call whilst in the wood fired hot tub. Alex and James were fantastic hosts, answering any questions promptly and offering invaluable local knowledge. Being able to experience treatments from Alex in her woodland wellness studio is just bliss. The little shop of all local produce was easy to use and helped us out with a couple of things we had forgotten. Wrinklers Wood is a rare gem - this was our third visit as so far, nothing else has come close to offering what this does regarding the land, the accommodation and the hosts. We will certainly be back whenever we can. Whole heartedly recommend 🙏🏻🌀
Just back from our two night stay in the Twiga safari tent for our anniversary. We absolutely loved every minute of it! The tent has everything you could possibly need. The information book also had clear and precise instructions for everything you need to know with great suggestions on places to go, walks, beaches etc. James was a fantastic host and very easy to contact.
Such a peaceful and private place, we really didn’t want to leave!
We had an amazing stay here.
The hosts are very welcoming and receptive with lots of great local tips. We stayed at 'The Cabin' which was furnished really well and was very homely sat amongst the trees. The glamping experience is at the end of an unpaved road, so slow and steady is best! However it provides a peaceful and private stay.
Location is also super with drives to beaches 10mins, Eden project 40mins east and St Michaels Mount 30mins west.
A magical place to escape to. I stayed in the cabin for a couple of wonderful and peaceful nights. With soothing birdsong and a babbling brook as the backdrop whilst sitting on the terrace, and being kept company by so many different types of birds, deer, rabbits and dragonflies, the cabin is a truly healing and restorative retreat - good for your wellbeing and well, just being. Wonderfully cosy, quiet and well appointed, the cabin has everything you could need, and not having WiFi was an additional boon for the soul. James could not have been more welcoming, and whilst I didn't book any appointments with Alex and her wellbeing treatments this time... my friends and I are already planning a return stay. With such a flexible offering of wonderful glamping options ('glamping' does not do the site justice - it is so much more) this is an incredible place to stay.
We came back for the second time and it’s as beautiful as we remembered, the perfect place to relax, cook, hot tub, easy access to trails for running and cycling and well located from the most beautiful beach & towns. The tents are very well equipped and super cozy to spend rainy days inside, a good balance between comfort & nature and provide full privacy. One of my favourite spots in the UK for holidays!
Wow!! What an entirely beautiful experience! Me and my parter stayed for 2 nights in the Chui Treehouse for his birthday and we had such a lovely weekend! The place itself was so peaceful and felt so private and secluded, even when outside in the hot tub. Once initially heated the hot tub is very easy to maintain, James was also very kind in chopping up some additional wood for us as another guest appeared to have purchased all of the spare wood. We also booked couples pilates with Alex (loved every second!) and a couples massage again with Alex. Both such lovely experiences and i would definitley recommend. We got lucky with the weather and decided to walk to The Miners Arms (around 30/35 min walk) which was lovely too. All in all a lovely stay and we will definitley be recommending to family and friends. The only one thing we would've added would be a microwave, but we managed to heat things up in the oven anyway! Thanks so much James and Alex!
