A great stay
We have previously stayed here and have always had a positive experience. The bed and pillows are amazingly comfortable, and the place is clean and tidy. While there, we had a great dinner at the Longhorn restaurant, went to a show which was fantastic and afterwards had cocktails in the Birdcage. Things to be mindful of: the lifts are being upgraded, so prepare to wait over half an hour in peak periods to move - or take the stairs like we did. When in the corridor also know that the rooms are not soundproof!
Fantasic Views and rooms
Great location, easy parking and fantastic rooms with a view. Doesn't have that Hotel room cramped feeling and very spacious.

Hi Grumpy T, thank you for providing a 5 star review of Wrest Point. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay.
Would never go back.
Beautiful rooms horrible hotel, excellent staff. Broken lifts. Long wait. Dance completion on. Asked before we booked they said was quiet. Was way too busy crowded. They have regular dance competition so they would have known. Didn’t tell us. Hotel unable to accommodate busy times. As far as restaurants, car park and people. Found it difficult as guests to get easy hotel parking drive around in circles a bit. Not convenient location.

World class hotel - Wrest Point you have my heart!!
This place has to be one of Hobart's best kept secrets. We stayed for 2 nights and right from the moment we stepped in the door to the moment we left, the staff were absolutely incredible. Nothing is too much trouble here!! The rooms are gorgeous, looking out over the whole Derwent River. The sunrise and sunsets are picture perfect....and the pillow menu ahhhhhhhh!! The bistro and cafe are fabulous, we didn't even feel the need to leave the Casino or go to any other eateries as we were completely satisfied with the delicious menus they serviced. If you want to explore Hobart it's so close to everything. It was $11.00 in an Uber to get from Salamanca to the Casino. It's so close but feels like a world away. This is one of the very best hotel experiences I have ever had. Thank you to Team Wrest Point, I cannot wait to return.

Scenic location
Nice atmosphere throughout with scenic views. Great coffee and food in Boardwalk cafe. Casino is not open 24 hours and you really need transport if you are going into Hobart City regularly although there is a bus.

Thank you, for your 4 star review of Wrest Point.
Nice Rooms
Enjoyed our stay. We didn’t gamble, no interest. The housekeeping dept did a great job. Went to the bar in the reception area and took our drinks across to sit near the fire. Interesting to see that the bar didn’t provide coasters with our drinks.

Hi Mike, thank you, for providing a 5 star rating of Wrest Point. We are pleased to hear that you had an excellent experience staying with us.
Great stay at tallest building in Hobart and Tasmania. Room rates are reasonable
Friendly and helpful front desks staff (esp Sam, who upgraded one of our rooms to be next to one another.) Excellent rooms with great Harbour view. Ample free parking. Good location, short drive to airport, Mt Wellington, Salamanca, Harbour for seafood. In house steak was excellent, Chinese restaurant was super.

laid
Plus haut building de la ville, cet édifice est laid et inutile, et même la vue doit y être belle, mais il gâche vraiment la vue! Dommage car le cadre, avec la marina et les bateaux, les perspectives seraient tellement plus belles sans cette tour !

We are sorry to hear that you feel that our building is 'ugly', however we appreciate our history, and the forward-thinking design in the 1970's when the tower was built.
Room 107
Nice hotel facing the waterfront. We got the renovated room, so it's not too bad. Standard facilities but no complimentary water in the room. Oh, don't get the lower floor. The breakfast buffet was basic, and you need to walk a little to get there.

No room service between 10am and 6pm
Extremely disappointed there is no room service available at this Hotel between 10am and 6pm! And no complimentary water in the fridge! That's unheard of these days of a hotel claiming 4 Star status. It's not the Wrest Point of old. They concentrate their efforts on gambling. Staff are few and far between and the two bars, the Birdcage and Green Room, are closed most nights. You are directed to the gambling area or the small bistro sports bar area. In house eateries are very expensive for what you get and not that nice. I cannot comment on the 'iconic' Revolving Restaurant at the top of the tower as I've not eaten there in decades. I stay in the old motel rooms, opposite the main entrance and tower, for the quietness and convenience. It's got thicker walls, close to parking and a walk outside. The bathrooms are very old with the showers difficult to use. Room service breakfast has been nice (eggs benny) but ask for bacon and for the spinach to be wilted if you want both, and a sharp knife to cut the sourdough toast crusts. Room 622 is extremely noisy as it's over the entrance doors and housekeeping storage room, and kept me awake all night with guests coming and going. The room next door was fine on previous stays. Apart from that, it's quiet in the Motel section. No lifts though, only stairs if you are not able bodied.
Wonderful views and people
Simply stunning views and faultless service. Super comfortable beds, abundant warmed fluffy towels. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The venue was a great place to relax after exploring Hobart and surrounding points of interest with multiple restaurants and bars to choose from. Even won on the roulette which was a bit of fun after an outstanding gastronomic retro revisit at the revolving restaurant… gueridon service Steak Dianne and crepes Suzette! Wonderful
Fantastic Servoce
Fantastic Rooms with views and Friendly Staff. Checking was very welcoming, and the checkout was so easy and they made you want to come back. Ot is very well situated in a very central spot to visit many places. Ample free parking which gives you peace of mind when getting back from day trips. So much to do if you just want to stay in the hotel as well.

Well above 5 star service
Amazing service, fabulous food, immaculate, pure luxury. Lots of entertainment, amazing views and the best beds, giving a wonderful nights sleep, many dining options from a light breakfast to a full hot cooked breakfast, coffee and cake for morning and afternoon tea. High tea, top notch dining, steak house, light snacks and lunches on the Boardwalk. It's all there for you. I was also very surprised at the affordable cost of the meals. Enjoy it as much as I did.
rest point
its a decent hotel, best experience was the steakhouse longhorn. weekend breakfast only open till 10. rooms are small in size, slightly congested. views are good right over the water. 650 dollars for 2 nights inclusive of breakfast was not bad an experience, valet parking is extra 20 per day
Great time and good location
General We did not have a car while here and relied on tours and public transport. OK we had transfers to/from the airport was a relaxing way to travel. Airport is about 22km from the CBD however public transport is a bit erratic and subject to cancellation without notice. A car would have been an advantage to get to some the outlying attractions. Tasmania has approx 500k population so very different to Melbourne although the most populous race still seems to be Chinese and Korean. Like Melbourne it is built on a grid of blocks so easy to get around and in reality nowhere as expensive as Melbourne. Every Saturday is market day in Hobart which people flock to. It sells pretty much everything ..... food, drink, clothing, hats, leather, you name it they sell it. Didn't see any decent looking hotels in CBD but there were a couple and they looked very tatty so glad we stayed where we did. Didn't see any issues here and felt very safe. Wrest Point Located approx 4km from Hobart CBD, it is more of an entertainment and casino complex than a straightforward hotel. It is spotlessly clean and has several bars and eating areas. Reception is easy and helpful at all times. Food portions are very good in all the restaurants we tried. There is a top of the range revolving restaurant at the top of the tower. Drink prices are a bit steep but nowhere as bad as Melbourne. We found a liquer store and bought our own back for less than half the price. It does a lot of events, conferences and weddings however the pull is the casino for which Friday and saturdays swells the numbers and people coming for their own pleasure. Our room was in a wing through the maze of corridors and overlooked the sea with a small beach outside. The room was fine and adequate but again lacked storage cupboards/drawers. The complex is air conditioned so could be chilly but the room and bed were overall fine and cleaners tying to change rooms daily. Breakfast was fine and usually very busy. Pretty much everything is there but not as good as Rydges for I think the same price. Hotel set in lovely gardens on the banks of the sea. It even has a 9 hole mini golf course but closed at this time of the year. Without a car is not impossible as directly outside the hotel is a bus stop which for $1.20/60p (cash to the driver) will take you into CBD. We often walked back via Battery Point which has a varied mix of properties and is the most desirable place to live here.....if you can afford it. Sandy Bay shopping centre is a 15 min walk for local shopping, but the main shopping centre (retail park) is on the opposite side of the river via Tasman bridge (toll free). Summary Wrest Point good location even though a bit out of town. Much slower pace of life to the mainland. A car would be useful but not essential. We wanted to go to Launceston but 2.5hrs on a bus each way did not appeal to either of us. If you get lost just look for the tower which is a prominent landmark on the shore. Apart from this had a thoroughly good time in a place we knew nothing about but turned out to be a bit of a hidden gem which will start to become popular in the coming years.
