Our kitchen was nothing short of a disaster but my husband and I decided to wait until after retirement to do a remodel. We had seen many of the Wise Design and Remodel signs in our neighborhood. We did meet with 5 remodeling firms in all and chose Wise. The day we met with Phil and Kim at our home was the day we decided to hire them. They took time and looked over the kitchen and adjoining rooms. Then they sat down with us and asked what we were looking for in a new kitchen. They really listened to what we wanted. We met with Phil, Kim, and Jason a few times to discuss options, things that would need to be done to accomplish what we wanted and then the destruction and construction started. Absolutely everyone, from the demolition crew to the final painter, was friendly, respectful, professional, and kind. Our questions were answered promptly and concerns were discussed and dealt with quickly. The remodel involved removing part of the dining room wall and matching the wood trim. We also had new windows installed throughout the house. The upstairs bathroom was retiled and retrimmed. Remodeling your home can be itimidating. Wise Design made it easier than I ever thought it could be. We are delighted with the new kitchen, bathroom, and windows. Would definitely hire Wise for any future projects.

We were looking for a reliable remodeling team to help us get the kitchen of our dreams. We hit the jackpot with Wise Design and Remodel. From the very beginning they listened to what we wanted, made incredible suggestions for things that we would never have thought of and developed a plan that has left us incredibly happy. We never dreamed that our kitchen could look like it does now. We also put in new windows throughout the house, as well as a retiled, retrimmed, and painted bathroom. Everyone who worked on our home was very friendly, kind, and respectful. Our questions were answered and concerns were addressed promptly. Should we have any future remodeling needs we will most certainly go to Wise Design and Remodel.

I would highly recommend Wise Design & Remodeling. First, we approached them with no idea what we wanted to do with our kitchen/den space. It was old, it was outdated, and the layout was atrocious, so we came to them to initially give us ideas. They ultimately provided 3 layout options (one on the lower end of our price range, one in the middle ground, and one on the higher end). In hindsight, this is exactly what we needed to move this project forward. Options. It gave us the freedom to choose and direction we needed. We ended up going with the more middle of the road option and are incredibly happy with the result. Our kitchen is beautiful, and it is now my (the husband) favorite place to spend time in our house. Honestly, I love doing dishes and cleaning up after meals now because of what Wise turned our space into. The difference it has made is remarkable. To be clear, the process was not perfect. There were hiccups along the way, but ultimately the entire crew at Wise (Phil, Tim, Jason, Kim, Johnny, and all their contractors) were very communicative and transparent with everything that was going on with our house/project. And when a problem popped up, they were 100% pragmatic in finding a reasonable solution. Their highest priority is getting you the end result you were hoping for and ultimately are happy with. We also had them replace several massive windows in our home primarily because we were confident in the quality of work they were doing. This was in addition to our kitchen/den remodel. We did not have them do the work because we felt any pressure to have it done, but because we felt good about the work they were doing and knew these other things needed to be done soon so why not have them do it? I will also note that they provide at 12 month check in where they come back to visit the property/project 12 months out from completion and discuss anything that has been a problem, been faulty, or just wasn't what you anticipated. So not only are they determined to provide you what you hoped for, but they come back in a year and make sure their work is holding up. That is the definition of standing behind your work and your products. Would 100% recommend.

The design team was amazing, and was so helpful in coming up with great ideas to make the space as functional and beautiful as possible while staying within our budget. Wise Design did an extensive basement remodel for us and we are incredibly happy with our new rumpus room! Phil was wonderful to work with, as well as the entire crew dedicated to our project. This may seem like a small thing, but I didn't realize how valuable it was to have the people coming in and out of your house all day be pleasant to be around! All truly lovely folks, subcontractors included (who were all great). We had a few unforeseen surprises as we went through the remodeling stages, and Wise Design was not only very good with communication, they handled all snafus like true professionals. To me this is the biggest selling point for a good contractor: things never go perfectly; you want to work with people who know how to handle bumps in the road. Wise Design clearly does. They take a lot of pride in the work they do and truly want you to be happy with the home they leave you with. We're already planning to redo our kitchen and one of our bathrooms in the somewhat near future, and there's no question we'd work with Wise Design again.

We hired Wise Design & Remodel for a full kitchen remodel in our older home and we couldn't be happier with the final results. Phil and his team were able to transform our cramped and outdated space into the perfect kitchen. The project included demolition down to the studs, moving and upgrading utilities, removing and siding over one window and replacing two others, removing an unused door and replicating the existing woodwork in the adjoining room, removing asbestos panels in the basement, and a new roof. Phil and his team were professional, punctual, and easy to communicate with. We were kept in the loop every step of the way, even when we had to unexpectedly leave town for a month. Every question or concern was addressed promptly. Each specialist (cabinets, tile, paint, flooring, trim) was meticulous in every detail. It seems like "going the extra mile" is standard procedure with Wise because they want you to be happy with the results. The transformation of our kitchen space is nothing we could have imagined without their guidance and experience. The layout is now both functional and beautiful, with more light, storage, and open space. We highly recommend Phil and Wise Design & Remodel to anyone looking to turn their kitchen (or other space) into a masterpiece.

Attention to detail, complete transformation, knows old homes better than anyone, blends old with modern, and worked with me to bring my vision to life. I never felt like my questions or ideas were too much, in fact they were addressed in detail to make sure the end product was exactly as we wanted. We worked with Wise to remodel our kitchen which completed in September 2023 and still to this day, zero regrets and love everything about it.

We did a basement and an upstairs Bathroom remodel with Wise Design. This was the first time we have done a major home renovation in our 1950s home. Phil and Team not only did a great job, but they were phenomenal to work with. Phil’s team is professional, courteous, and easy to work with and provided strong guidance throughout the process. In addition, the contractors they use are the same and it felt like one big team. We did our remodel while we were expecting our first child and Phil and Team drew up a plan to get the jobs as completed as possible before the baby arrived around the year-end holidays. We really appreciated the Wise Design team staying true to their expected timeline so that there would be minimal house impact when our son arrived. Moreover, we enjoyed being able to monitor the project timeline on the builder trend app where we could clearly see who was coming and when and progress photos along the way. The basement remodel added a lot more livable space to our smaller home, and the bathroom remodel provided a much-needed refresh from the prior old and dated look. We would definitely recommend Wise Design as Phil and Team will treat you fairly and with kindness.

After our initial consult it was clear that they were a kind and knowledgable team, and gratefully that was consistent throughout our endeavor. What stuck out to me at the onset was when Phil said something like, "it won't all go perfectly and things will happen since it's such a big project, but when they do I'll make it right." He stood by that promise and we appreciated his integrity and care. It was indeed a big project and a few things didn't go as planned, but he fixed every concern we had, building not only a beautiful new front of our home, but trust along the way. The entire crew was adored by our neighborhood by the time they were complete! It's a nice and rare combo to find people who are not only talented at what they do, but fun, communicative, caring and funny at the same time. The basement remodel was is our first time doing a major renovation. As we interviewed different contractors, our conversation initial with Phil at Wise Design made us feel comfortable around what to expect in working with his team. He was very welcoming, and you got the sense that he will treat our space as his own home. One of the things that stood out was Phil’s thoughtfulness and all the upfront work that he took into account, so that on the back end we can mitigate as many surprises as possible. The Wise Design team would conduct multiple visits to the basement to take a look at the space, cut holes into walls to check for gotchas, and fine-tune some of the design plans. They did a really good job and their thoroughness was extremely valuable! Doing these upfront visits mitigated any surprises when it came time to break ground. Additionally, Phil’s team is excellent to work with! Not only his immediate staff, but even their contractors. We loved working with Tim, the Wise Design lead project manager. His communication was outstanding. During demo, we were out of the country and Tim sent us progress photos every day. That kept us informed and at ease. Tim, Johnny (carpenter), and Carson (carpenter) became like family. We would spend time with them get to know them and hear about what was going on their lives. The Wise Design team did an absolutely phenomenal job! Their thoughtfulness on each piece of the design came to life wonderfully. The care and consultative role that the whole team played made our vision come to life. The kindness, trust, and respect made us feel comfortable in making decisions. The renovation really enhanced the quality of life in the space! We love it!

While it wasn’t fun not having a kitchen for almost 3 months, there was minimal disruption in the rest of the house after demolition, it wasn’t nearly the mess I was anticipating! Communication was clear and any issues were dealt with quickly. Overall, my new kitchen is a dream, it was lovely to cook a holiday meal in the space and not feel crowded and overwhelmed. I still walk in and pinch myself that this is my real kitchen now! I would highly recommend working with them!
