Christian provides excellent communication, timely updates and works within your budget offering alternative solutions to help with cost while still maintaining quality. They have kept to schedule and capitalised on the weather even if that meant working a weekend. We are now just waiting for the grass to grow but it already looks so much better than it did before. We were after a privacy hedge in our backyard, to replace the olive trees that we had planted ourselves and were getting too big. Our problem was that we had a narrow garden bed along the fence and I wasn’t sure if any hedge would be able to thrive there. I initially wanted a Lilly pilly hedge but was aware that they are prone to psyllids and Myrtle rust. I obtained 3 quotes. 2 of them quoted me for exactly what I wanted- a Lilly pilly hedge. However, Christian from Winfield landscapes made me aware of the issues with Lilly pilly and suggested a less problematic species. He also suggested adding a 200mm retainer in order to add more volume to the garden bed to allow more space for good quality soil (which alleviated my concerns about the narrow garden bed). Christian was also the only one who asked about what kind of soil we had (clay). This gave me the impression that he knew what he was doing and wanted to ensure that once the hedges were planted that they would survive. We had the job done just over a week after accepting the quote and the guys did a fantastic job. They did it in a day and left the place tidy. Highly recommend these guys. I’ve added before and after photos below.

As a 'getting older' couple who want to stay in their own home for as long as possible, we felt the garden was becoming too much for us to take care of. Christian came to discuss what we needed. Josh and Alex now come on a regular schedule. Because of their work we can now relax and enjoy the garden. We appreciate how obliging they are; nothing is too much trouble. They remember what is asked of them each time they come and also use their initiative to see what is needed. It is amazing how quickly they work and it is a pleasure to see the difference in the garden after they have been.

Mostly very good. My job was in November 24, and was two-fold. I needed a drainage border/trench of sorts dug out, filled with metal and topped with decorative stones. This was done on day one of two and I am very pleased with this aspect of the job. The stones perform exactly as I wanted and stop water pooling at the bottom of a steep slope. It has tidied up the area perfectly well. The other part of the job was not as successful. There was a section of the slope above this area which I planned to plant out and which needed a couple of wooden borders installed and some mulch spread over it. The borders went round a bend and Christian agreed to get the border to follow the curve of the bend. During the job he spoke to me on the phone and advised that he had decided to handle the bend with an angled join rather than a curved edge. Not really what I wanted, but the job was already underway. On inspection I found that some of the joins were poorly done and not at all flush. Additionally there was a small end piece missing. To his credit (I don't live very close at all to the business) Christian made time to come and rectify these issues very quickly and was happy to do so. The mulch part of the job has been the real let-down and has degraded quite quickly. As soon as two/three weeks after the job, weeds were rampant on the surface and I have had to weed it a few times since. Mulch isn't a guaranteed weed suppresser I know, but the mulch was spread very unevenly. I found this out when I came to plant through it and found that in places it was 2/3 cm deep and in other places as much as 20cm deep, especially where I was planting. I get the impression this job was rushed and with the wooden border also having issues that it has left me wondering should I just have done it myself as I have elsewhere on the site. It's certainly not any better than my own work. Christian is a really easy guy to deal with and as I said, came back twice to fix minor issues which is great. The guys also left the site very clean and tidy.
