We recently stayed at Windward at the Beach with our young grandchildren. I booked this hotel last January (when it was closed) and David promptly called me back and was most helpful in answering my questions to make sure this hotel was good fit for us. He also shared kid-friendly activities in the area since we've never been to the Jersey Shore. We stayed in room #9, which was perfect for the five of us. We had plenty of space and the unit was very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect and walkable to just about any place you'd like to go. David was the perfect host and provided excellent customer service. I've already shared the website link with friends who often visit the area :)

A little slice of paradise on Long Beach Island. Just minutes from restaurants, and amusements but tucked away enough to be quiet and relaxing. We stayed in one of the rooms that were separate from the main house and had our own outdoor patio and indoor porch. Fresh coffee was available in the lobby 24/7 and as I'm n early riser it was perfect. As far as location to the beach, when you step out of the front door and look right you can see the dunes. Even with lugging my camera equipment it was about a 2 minute walk to the sand. We will definitely be booking there again.

Windward at the Beach is the best place to stay if you want to spend a vacation in Beach Haven Island, it has a beautiful view of the sea and the whole hotel maintains a warm and comforting atmosphere, her housekeeping Adriana was the best, helpful and friendly. I loved that everything was clean. It also has several restaurants and shops nearby, making it the best place to stay. Thank you for everything!

Very nice, chill lodgings. Staff is super friendly and the accommodations were lovely. 5 minute walk to the beach ! Only “complaint” I have is I wish the the fridge’s freezer was defrosted, but it’s not a deal breaker !

Great location and great staff but definitely in need of an upgrade. Bathroom was a bit scary and bathroom fan was way too loud. Can't recommend unless you're looking for a real bargain and don't care about your accommodations. Only book if you get a rock bottom price, which I got. However we won't be visiting again unless they update the rooms and bathrooms.

Comfortable Inn
Lovely inn with extremely pleasant, helpful and easy going staff. Comfortable, clean room with a nice public porch and small outdoor space. Great location across from the beach. The only drawback was the tiny bathroom in the one room efficiency.

We just got back from a wonderful stay at the Windward. The owner and staff are so friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with. The place is very clean and charming and the location can't be beat. It was perfect for our long weekend.

Great experience! The room was perfect for our needs (young children) and very close to the beach and restaurants. We loved the park next door. Service was efficient and simple using text messages and key pads to get into the room, and guest services were available on site. We had a wonderful time and will be back! Thank you!

Windward at the Beach is a beautiful boutique hotel in a beautiful location! I love that it is a small, family-owned establishment which welcomes families with children. What drew me most to the Windward were the 5-star reviews stating its cleanliness, warm hospitality, and proximity to the ocean - they were all spot on! The Windward had everything we could possibly need for our stay! Seriously, I could have left half of the things we brought with us at home! We rented Room 9, which was a large suite and had a nice kitchen area with a good-sized refrigerator/freezer, microwave, 2-burner stovetop, breakfast bar, and sink. All you need to bring are the food and drinks! They provide the dish soap, dish cloths, drying towels, every cooking utensil you could possibly think of plus all the cookware, flatware and dinnerware you could need! The entire suite was clean and beautiful, and we were very comfortable there. Just off the lobby was the ice machine and a cute little coffee bar which had a nice selection of coffee. The beautifully beach themed porch had plenty of cozy seats to sink in and relax. At one end of the porch they had an area set up specifically for children. I thought this was a very nice touch and my four-year-old son thoroughly enjoyed it! It had a small child-size table with crayons, coloring books, and other activities to keep little ones occupied. The bookshelves nearby were stocked full of family board games and children's books, and outside they had two huge totes filled with all types of beach toys that my son loved selecting from! Even before we left, my son was talking about coming back next year for longer! This made my heart happy because it was his first time on a real vacation away from home and sleeping in a bed other than his own. We all had such an amazing time and hope to make this trip a yearly family tradition that includes a stay at the Windward!

Amazing Stay at Windward at the Beach - Highly Recommend!
The Windward at the Beach was incredible. This was our first time staying here. Dave the owner was so attentive to our needs. He knew all of our first names, always asked if we were ok and had great suggestions to get coffee, rent bikes and eat. The location is fantastic! It's a block away from the beach, very convenient. The rooms were quaint and clean, very beachy vibes. There are only ten rooms, very quiet and relaxing. (Don't worry mommies, young kids were staying there and having a great time!) There's a terrific outdoor shower which we took advantage of. We will definitely be returning!!!

We loved our stay at Windward - Beach Haven, NJ. David was so welcoming and always greeted me by name. It was wonderful to stay steps away from the beach. Our room was clean and well appointed and we loved the amenities such as the books and games in the enclosed porch, beach badge access, beach toys and outdoor showers. We would love to return, I could see coming with my husband or again as a family trip! So happy we discovered this Jersey Shore gem!
